General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread
Cammo replied to Oswald the Rabbit's topic in LEGO Pirates
I only hope that the FD-set is based of the Davy Jones corrupted version and not the slick version of Will Turner. I prefer the ghostship-look. But I'm very hasty here... It will probably release like you guys mentioned before; a month or so before the release of the fifth movie. Since The Lone Ranger is on Johnny's schedule, is it possible that the fifth installment isn't going to make a summer 2013 release? I sure don't hope so... -

Well, since Pirates is getting canceled. You can always make a custom Cutler Beckett with the Frodo minifigure and Gibbs hairpiece. That's how I'm going to do it anyway. -
How do you mean no pictures. Aren't those allowed?

Maybe they can introduce in the unconfirmed Flying Dutchman set. I saw that Morey, the eel-like crewmember made an appearance in the DS-game. (It's the one that Barbossa decapitated.) My link I think he is as important as Maccus and Wyvern because he gets quite some screentime during the last battle scene in the third movie. -
sorry to interrupt the current discussion but I saw that the batcave is available at the official online Legoshop for European customers. (Checked for Belgium too). I hope that the rest of the 1st DC-wave will arrive in EU-countries pretty soon. Altough I'm only interested in the Dynamic Duo Escape/Funhouse set.

Well for Jack's trial, I just mean a hangplatform (but maybe that's already too child-unfriendly) + the balcony of the fort from Port Royal with the bell. Then a judicial executioner (with a black hood), musketeer Will, Cpt. J. Sparrow, Governor Swann and Norrington. But i guess you can leave out the executioner too because of Lego's anti-violence policy. -

Well the ideal wave for me would be: little sets: Tia Dalma's Shack (exclusive: Tia Dalma, Jack the monkey) Medium sets: Tortuga set, Jack's Trial (hanging) (exclusives: Pintel, Ragetti, Marty, Cotton, Anna-Maria) (exclusives: Musketeer Will Turner, Governor Swann, non-scruffy Norrington) Bigger sets: Singapore set, Brethren court set (Exclusives: Sao Feng, Asian twins, Pirate version of Elisabeth) (Exclusives: elisabeth pirate king version, 2 pirate lords and Cpt. Teague) Biggest set: Flying Dutchman (Exclusives: Cutler Beckett, some Dutchman crewmember, 2 soldiers [maybe those 2 wimps]) -
I also heard a rumour; Jack Sparrow was in London, with a ship, and looking for a crew. Sorry couldn't resist when I read the word rumour.

Too bad, you'll never know if they'll release another wave next summer (2013) when the new movie arrives. Time to save up the money. Thanks for the news. -
You can indeed switch hairpieces from regular minifigures and Friendsminifigures.

Don't know if this is posted already but here some more proof of the continuation of this theme: http://www.brickshow.com/more-lego-kingdoms-sets-coming-in-2012?utm_source=feedburner&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=Feed%3A+thebrickshow+%28The+Brick+Show%29

On the extra blu-ray of PotC Dead Man's Chest, they say that Port Royal is indeed a interpretation of a port that existed in the Era the films are set in so...

Hmm, Someone very peculiar is spying on the drunk on the first floor. Love it!

Does anyone know when European countries will be able to order the Super Hero Sets on the official Lego-website? I know the USA & UK are able to order them. How long does it usually take between the UK and the EU-countries to order the sets on the official website? Thanks in advance and Happy Newyear!

Just found these great comparisons between the old minifigures and the new ones on Flickr:
-
1. Cutler Beckett = he's the main villain in PotC 3 and appears in PotC 2 as well 2. The duo: Pintel & Ragetti + their beloved Guard dog 3. Tia Dalma 4. Sao Feng 5. Governor Swan (6. Norrington, the none scruffy version ) (7. Jack the monkey) (8. Mr Mercer) (9. Pirate version of Elisabeth Swan) (10. Captain teague: Cpt. J. Sparrow's dad) That would be the ultimate mini-figure release for wave 2 :)

It looks absolutely fantastic in my eyes. Is it possible to download the LDD-file somewhere?

I doubt that Lego PotC will be released in the summer of 2012... They alrdy got LotR, Marvel and Dark knight sets coming out. + We still didn't see any pictures from one of their catalogues. I don't get my hopes up on this one... -
But I want a last wave of the PotC franchise before we go back to the classic pirates.
-
If you have a VISA at your disposal, you can always buy it on the official Lego store on Lego.be That's how I did it. And then when I finally got my Pearl, I also saw it in the 'Sinterklaasfolder' of 'FUN'... (Price was also €99.99/ € 99.95, Can't remember the cents )
-
I saw the black pearl in the catalogue of 'FUN'. I never actually went to the store to check though... The imperial flagship isn't for sale in Belgium anymore as far as I know.
-
I honestly don't think that they are bad... Of course the locations in the LotR-Lego game will be more epic. But you can always upgrade the sets with other bricks ;)

I'm actually addicted to the music. My 'addiction' started 2 years ago. Then the new movie came along and now PotC is the start of my lego collection after my dark ages. The QaR and BP are an ideal Christmas present. Too bad I got them all during the summer break but now that the rumour of a second wave has started, I really can't wait to see the new list of the new wave. -

I only hope for - the pufferfish henchman Koleniko or Jimmy Legs - Wyvern - Cutler Beckett - Mr. Mercer - (maybe an extra East Indian Trading Company Soldier) - Cpt. Jack Sparrow - Davy Jones himself How I can dream :P -
2 of my 4 dream licenses have already been fulfilled: Batman & PotC All I want now is 'The Mask' and 'TMNT'/ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles/ Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles... The riddler from the new sets reminds me of Donatello somehow
