Harry Potter 2019 - Rumors & discussion
GrandDukeofKumquats replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
We are not sure if the Disney D2C will be a haunted house (we are just speculating at this point) but we are sure that it is a DISNEY D2C. Harry Potter is Warner Brothers property. They don't own everything yet. -
Ok, now this looks amazing. The shape is achieved very well, and the colour scheme is still awesome. There could be more minifigures, but the ones there are nice variants and the baby dino's and microfigs do help. I would've loved it to be minifig scale too, but with the size of the ship in the movie, its a fair compromise. Might pick this up if my wallet allows me to.

For minifigures, I went for Tin Man, but I like all of the Wizard of Oz figs equally. Beyond them, I like President Business, Giraffe Guy, Swamp Creature and Apocalypse Abe. For accessories, I went with Golfin' President Business for the golf club, but Rex (with the baby Raptor and cowboy hat) came pretty close for me.

Both faces for the new Kylo Ren have leaked. One side is a regular angry face, and the other is a disappointed one, with a fresh scar. -
Licensed Themes VS Original Themes
GrandDukeofKumquats replied to Lego David's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I think that both licensed themes and original themes both have equal opportunity to be great. But for me, original themes have a bit more of an upward battle to fight. I am a fan of pop culture first and a fan of LEGO second, so the original themes I tend to collect are the ones that have longevity and/or have left an impact, like the Space/Pirate/Wild West themes, Bionicle, Ninjago and Minifigures. -

Having both styles of helmet, the older one is not much better at turning. It looks like it is, but you can only turn it so far before it slides off the head. At least the new one doesn't pretend. -
On this thread, I've also heard about how the movie might be too "meta". The first movie already had a lot of references, but some guys on here think that the "it's suicide" and "sparkly vampire" gags are a bit too recent or too deep-cut. Speaking of sparkly vampires, I have to agree! Balthazar's hair could look great on my purist Iceman figure.

So many wonderful angles! Love the face! Love the thin windshields around the cockpit! Love the mudguards and wheel rims!

[MOC] Sulphur-crested cockatoo

If I walked into a room, and this was sitting on the table, I'd think this was the real deal! The head especially is wonderfully textured, and that beak is almost surreal. -
Oh my God he's adorable!

Thats what it's definitely meant to be, and could well be a teaser. A Shrieking Shack may come in the future, but it's all speculation currently. -
