    Definitely buy more. When they first came out, someone did force them apart with just a butter knife. I think it was crowkillers. Check the 8110 threads :)

    I have (incomplete) sets 8366 and 8475, giving me two working RC Units! I also have six of the RC motors, which are similarly valuable but significantly more common. I really should sell them before they break on me...

    3D print either solid wheels, or solid rims that fill and stretch the tires!

    Maybe my silicon spray isn't thin enough, because it doesn't help sliding parts under low loads.

    When I built the bucket factory, the sliding parts developed slightly more friction after running for no more than an hour, and I was unable to run it reliably again.

    These days you only have to buy one or two flagships to have several thousand parts... The problem with red #3 connectors is they are only worth having if you have 41 of them!

    If I was in NL I would buy it, and part it out myself! There's a good chance you can find someone nearby who is interested in doing that.

    Have you factored your time into the price of the buckets? Make sure you pay yourself a good wage!

    Has he ever said why? I purchased this set for under 25 Euro a few years ago, minus the large quarter ellipses. It was some time before I got them replaced! Now that I've had it so long, I forget how rare its parts are, like the bushes. However, right now the only blue 1x15 beam I have is from it! I probably would not have wanted it if it hadn't been on the back of the instructions for 8418, the first Technic set I ever played with. One reason for its uniqueness: It is the only set done by its designer. If he had stayed on, we might have had some more idiosyncratic sets like it!

    What about the latest NXT software with the older Flash it wants to have, can you upgrade firmware then? If not, just go with 1.28 for now.

    And the seals would wipe the coating off!

    It would make all of one direction of curve larger and all of the other curve smaller or even negative, right? On another note, are you going to submit this to Rebrickable? If not, would you give permission for someone else to do it?

    Draw a mandelbrot set using LEGO. Then you may say "This model is not worthy of recognition because it doesn't draw an actual fractal."

    Probably by a chinese builder, selling a complete kit. For almost $1000, I sure hope it isn't just instructions!

    It draws a specific iteration of the dragon curve fractal, exactly as it was meant to.

    If there's just a bit of slack, take it up with rollers lifting the top track like in official sets.
