REVIEW:79003 An Unexpected Gathering
llb replied to Captain BeerBeard's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
I definitely would find it tough to buy this at full price - luckily I have it at 25% off which is an awesome deal. Stickers for the maps - wouldn't really class that as a massive deal to be honest -
For those in the UK who took advantage of the good deals on the hobbit sets - I had an email this morning telling me the dispatch ectimate has been pushed for to 10-12th December

llb replied to WhiteFang's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Best series so far IMO, the only ones I dont want are the Mermaid and Roller Girl. The Maiden and Knight are my favourites.- 171 replies

Ebay seller gets busted for switching price labels

Really? -
I think someone in the US/Canada found the Frodo one in TRU. The Uruk Hai will be part of a UK newspaper promotion in the future.

AMAZING

Sorry Spidey! This thread tends to jump quite a few pages between my visits so I miss a lot.

Lord of the Brick A list of sets for LEGO Hobbit is already registered on a site selling online German (Spielwaren-kontor24.de) and although one can still doubt the reality of the thing, we can legitimately think that is close to what will be the first wave of sets scheduled for December 2012. We thus find: 79000 - Mystery of the Ring 79001 - Fleeing From The Mirkwood Spiders 79002 - Attack of the Wargs 79003 - Bag End 79010 - Cave of the Orc King Little or no information on the content of these sets for now, except that it is probably 79,003 Bag End set to be unveiled today at the Comic Con in San Diego .... Translated into English - rumours of course..

Did any of you guys who got stuff shipped to the UK from B&N get a bit tax bill when it arrived? -
This is ridiculously good.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
llb replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Looks like he is holding a snow globe in front of his chin? It looks too sparkly for a beard. -
Love that your flickr shows the step by step - fantastic diorama.

Thanks for the info. I think I may end up paying just about UK RRP if they put on some extra charges, if not then great. I wouldn't usually go to all the hassle but it's taking so long to come out in the UK! Add to the fact Amazon will probably do 10% off all the sets at some point when they are released means i've probably jumping the gun
-
Treated myself to Uruk Hai Army from Barnes and Noble and came to roughly £25 after shipping - will let you know about any other charges if they apply. One guy said he ordered Helms Deep and had to pay £27 in custom tax....I guess the box is pretty big though..
-
Brilliant as usual, lovely street scene.

Is that from Bricklink? (Weathertop)
-
Ash, thanks for the info - was hoping they would have LOTR sets but by the looks of it they only have Gandalf Arrives (and I think they might be through a 3rd party) Will defo keep my eye out! Edit: the German Amazon has LOTR sets but not really any savings to be had...

The licenses forum has enough stuff going on at the moment and LOTR ties in nicely with the fantasy themes and Historica. Don't let it bug you too much.

Tree Build Technique - Can someone Help Me?
llb replied to natesroom's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
What a great technique, thanks for that! Pity I've got nowhere near enough pieces for a respectable tree.. -
I might be missing something really obvious, but what technique do you use to get the 1x1 & 1x2 tiles going up the corners of the buildings on both sides? Probably a simple enough technique but its been a long weekend...
