  1. This is my Lego desk area: Lego storage - workspace by tikitikitembo, on Flickr But in reality, I still build on my lounge room floor (for a few reasons, it is easier for a couple of us (kids/hubby) to build at the same time, it isn't so isolated from everyone, it is more comfortable, and my Lego desk is often covered in Lego (so not enough space to build). I am thinking of getting a garage work bench, because it is higher and larger (so I can stand and build), but I am getting it more specifically as a stop motion filming area (something like this: workbench.
  2. Oh, I am looking forward to this theme (ok, the hedgehog sells the friends theme for me). I really like that the milk is printed on in this set and the colours that will be coming out. Thanks for the review.
  3. Darn, I just bought a turbo tank (amazon fr), that is a great Australian price though for the CTT.
  4. Very cool... makes me want to spank people with paddles. Your representation of the Stonecutters lodge is excellent, I love the eye and the glass dome.
  5. That is a great display and I imagine will get lots of attention as people walk past. I might also steal that tree design, it is lovely.
  6. This is stunning. Everything from the stonework on the front fence, beautiful exterior, lovely stairs, pretty garden to the lights is perfect. Amazing build. I can see how it could have been a train station, but I agree, it makes an amazing house. The front entrance is probably my favourite part (with the sliding doors (I think), very cool). Do you plan on adding furniture?
  7. Here is the start of our tree. We bought some craft baubles for Lego figures and I made Clikits tinsel Baubles and Clikits TInsel by tikitikitembo, on Flickr And our star Lego Star by tikitikitembo, on Flickr
  8. I have a teenage son who loves Minecraft but has never really been into Lego. I don't get Minecraft's popularity but I love Lego. So maybe they will find something for both audiences (Lego people and Minecraft people), either way I will be interested to see the outcome (and if there will be any new and awesome new pieces for me).
  9. Really beautiful tower. I particularly like the banner on the front and the way the corners of the tower have been built.
  10. Really cute candy shop. I like the house (the inside and the outside (those windows are one of my favourite pieces). I also like the little Santa grotto/pavilion you have built. Very nice and beautifully in theme.
  11. I have bought my husband the Grand Emporium and also the 8043, the motorised excavator set. But he is also an AFOL (wasn't so much when we met although he did have a few sets), he is even an active LUG member (more active than me).
  12. Hi De Sandman, there is a topic in the general forum area which might help: Storage and sorting lego topic There are lots of photos of other peoples collection (and how they sort and store) including of my crazy Lego area.
  13. Great idea and build. I love the walrus and the chunk of ice on which he sits. I also like the addition of the chunks of ice floating around.
  14. The shape of the windmill is perfect and the interior has been done brilliantly. I keep looking over the photos because there is so much that is beautiful in this one model.
  15. I am a drafting instructor (for legislation). Well it is only a part of my job (I also so some more traditional policy work), but it is what people consider me best at. I think my husband agrees that I am awesome at dance games on the Wii. I can always hear him laughing hysterically when I play, I assume that is a sign of my awesomeness and the fact that I never lose.
  16. Thanks Rocketbilly. When I think of SteamPunk, I tend to get an anime image in my head, so that might explain the cartoony look of it.
  17. I have just completed my first attempt at building in the SteamPunk Genre. I received the Clone Tank and as soon as I saw the huge wheels, the idea for the Airship came into my head. So here it is, my SteamPunk Airship. SteamPunk LEGO Airship by tikitikitembo, on Flickr SteamPunk LEGO Airship - Engine by tikitikitembo, on Flickr SteamPunk LEGO Airship - Burners by tikitikitembo, on Flickr Thanks for looking.
  18. And thank you WhiteFang. You have done a brilliant job looking after the competition.
  19. Very cool. We have just ordered a bunch of those clear baubles you can open. Our plan is to also do our tree Lego themed this year, so I might steal some of your ideas.
  20. For some reason Amazon Fr is not giving me the VAT removed AUS price at checkout. (I have ordered from them a number of times, and it has never done this). Does anyone know how to change it back. I want to get my husband the 8043 while the 15% off is going. Edit: ignore that, when I removed an item with a delay it went back to normal.
  21. I am good at identifying faults in certain types of technical documents (which makes me really good at my job). It is from a combination of my two personality flaws, I am a natural worrier and I am overly analytical. Not very interesting, but it pays the bills. I am also pretty good at just dance games on the wii.
  22. This maze is insane, I love it. Not only is it huge, but there is lots of great detailing, especially in the tower, but also in the plants and colours. Really cool.
  23. I just got a couple of these Lego storage containers. This one is used for my basic essentials, because my collection is growing quite large, it is just the stuff I always need. And hopefully now I won't keep losing my brick un-brickers. Brick Storage Carry Case - essentials by tikitikitembo, on Flickr
  24. Lots of cute little builds. I like your roof designs for both the Mage's stall and the Blacksmith's shop.
  25. Thanks for the kind comments, I agree about the forced perspective, I have never tried it before and I agree, I think it needs more depth.
