  1. Alright, so in about a half-month, I'm going to Legoland Florida. Now, I've heard that you can trade minifigs with Legoland staffers who have nametags. Has anyone done this and could you give me some tips? I have about 50 minifigs I don't want, and I would love to trade these guys for some rarer minifigs.
  2. Haha, nice! When I first got Gollum, I found that he couldn't hold the ring without bending his arm. Well, if you switch the arms around, (Put the minifig-hand part on his body) he can hold the ring quite nicely!
  3. Hm...interesting. First of all, could you deeplink your picture? Next, I like what you've got, although it's pretty simple. If you could up the detail, adding some tan pieces on the bridge and the grass, like some grass pieces. Just a few bricks isn't enough. Try some SNOT-ing! I bet you can make this into a fantastic MOC!
  4. Nice MOC, LuxorV! I love every bit of this MOC - the suits are genius, still recognizable but purist! I really like your cars in this - the suit (get it?) Tony and look great! Can you post a picture of you Pepper minifig?
  5. This is great-looking so far, and I know that you'll pull it off fantastically when it's done! I love seeing how you've done some piece usage - it's great inspiration!
  6. Whoa! This is fantastic! I love the detailing on the Acklay and the arena wall in the background. It's an instantly recognizable scene, and I love how you've pulled it off! Great job!
  7. So you want absolutely no flesh color on the torsos? I usually use them if there is a very small bit. I find the Hobbits' torsos are great, even though there is some flesh on there. The Ringwraith have great torso, perfect for a creepy guy.
  8. Wow....four waves! Let's hope Lego LOTR lasts that long! I do like some of your ideas, although I don't think many of the kids (target audience) will know who the Mouth of Sauron is, as he was only in the special ROTK edition. (To my knowledge.) I would love to see a Minas Tirith set, and the $130 range for one is perfectly understandable. But I would rather have your Upper Minas Tirith, including Denethor. I think that you have too many orcs in you ideas - if someone were to buy every set, they would have around 30 orcs in all. I think you should focus more on the first movie a bit more. I would love to see an idea for the Prancing Pony, Lothlorien, the battle at the River, etc. For the second movie, how about the Forbidden Pool? You've covered pretty much all of my third movie needs. As my favorite movie, it had the least sets. And are these army builders like battle packs? If so, they would need to include some pieces - a building, a catapult. All in all, though, great ideas, and I would buy every set if I had the money to. Let's just hope that the next wave will have some LOTR stuff, not just Hobbit things.
  9. I like the fire effect from the bike! I've always really liked Ghost Rider, and I think you've captured him well. The shaping of the bike is great, too! It looks really speedy. Nice job!
  10. Well, it looks like I had time for yet one more entry in the Mi-Fi Contest: an alien Tripod from the 2005 War of the Worlds. (There were a couple of these, this one's from the Tom Cruise version.) This is one of my favorite movies, and the last time I watched it, I suddenly realized that this could be an entry. I'm not really happy with the head, but as the contest is over tonight, I don't have enough time to come up with a perfect solution. In case you're wondering, this is this scene: (Well, the first 15 seconds or so.) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cnUDQyOWbi8 Enojy!
  11. I love this! I saw this on the Mi-Fi Contest page - it looks great!
  12. Brickset does. You can have a list of all of your sets and minifigs. Quite helpful.
  13. Wow, this is an amazing project! The LEDs are beautiful. The engines are great! Nice job!
  14. My sets last maybe a couple months...two or three for the bigger ones and four or five for the smaller. It just depends on what pieces I need. The MOCs last about three weeks. They still stay in the shape, just missing a few pieces here and there. Now I just have MOC remnants around my room. I really should clean those up....
  15. Well, I decided to go all out and just get my sig fig up and married to Olivia. (Not literally.)
  16. Whoa, this is amazing! This looks just like the movie, and what it looked like in my imagination in the books! I know this is a small issue, but I really get paranoid about minifigs - aren't the Hobbit's cloaks the same? The rest is superb! Great job!
  17. Hm....I use them for stabilizing if I have enough room, such as in the place of a half-pin. (I think that's the name - the small blue ones.) They're also quite good for small, micro parts.
  18. These looks great! I'm a big fan of the first picture! On a slightly different subject, is this where we post LOTR pictures?
  19. I was planning on going, but family plans got in the way.
  20. Nice review! I only buy the battle packs for the minifigs, and since none of them looked appealing, this has been the only battle pack I skipped.
  21. Man, these are great! I especially love the phoenix (is that what it is?) in the Ashen Portal one. The building is fantastic and I really like all of the portals. Nice job!
  22. Wow, this is great! I love the trees - very wintery. The sage's place is nice too, I like the pillars. Nice job!
  23. Nice review! I really like this set for TDK version of Batman. I really don't like the classic one given in the Catwoman set. And by the way, the picture of the bag is a scan of the instructions.
  24. So, in my usual lateness for a contest, I came up with doing the eye-shaped "Heart of Gold" from Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy. This was the first spherical thing I've built, and I tried to make it look as much as it does in the movie. I'm not truly happy with the rear, but I suppose it's still recognizable. Here's a comparison pic: Enjoy!
  25. Hmmm... Probably by using some hinge plates and then placing the roof on there. Maybe a few of those light bley 1x4 tiles are plates.
