Um....YES! I'd get all of those. Tatooine themed sets, especially from TPM, are more than welcome.

Man, I hope this is true!!! I wasn't collecting Lego at the time, and there's no way I'll ever pay the aftermarket prices for Batman now. I'd be in for more Batman. And if they were so successful, what's keeping them from making more?

Speaking for myself, and I know a whole lot of AFOLs out there, playsets are FANTASTIC. And in my opinion, there just hasn't been enough of them in the Lego SW line. Battle of Endor definitely did raise the bar, and I expect a Jabba's Palace set could surpass even that. I'm definitely waiting on pins and needles to hear news about this set later on next year (Toy Fair possibly?). That said, there are a few other OT playset-styled sets that I'd love to see. Mos Eisley is even more in need of a redo than Jabba's Palace, and a new Cloud City would be beyond cool.

I agree, Lego LOTR would be awesome and very tempting to buy. One of my dream licenses has got to be Superman. Anyone know if Lego still has the license from DC? Or if more Batman might be a possibility? Superman would be a great choice, especially with the upcoming film release.

I've been troop building this past week to fill out my 10188 Death Star a bit more (once I get around to actually building it). The purchases include about 10 Stormtroopers and 8 Shadow Troopers so far...

I like the idea of a Droid Control Ship. Although personally I would rather see one in playset style: Rooms could include the bridge, hangar, and meeting room. Minifigs: Qui-Gon, Obi-Wan, TC-14 (chrome!), Nute Gunray, Rune Haako, battle droids, droidekas Another fantastic set would be either Anakin's slave hovel or Watto's shop. Anything from Tatooine and having to do with Episode 1 is a winner in my book!

This exact piece is also being included in 7964 Republic Frigate, for those who are interested. -

I'll definitely be getting this at some point down the road, but only on sale. And like somebody said above: WHY STICKERS?! For a set this expensive (over $.12/piece) and AFOL-oriented, those panels need to be printed. -
I honestly love that it has both a UCS and System flavor to it. And the bridge scene has been so perfectly integrated that it's not obvious once the panel is put in place. Lego did a great job to please both camps on this one.

Gotta pick my jaw off the floor! This thing's amazing! Definitely a must-buy for me. Pricepoint? I'm thinking $350.

LMAO!!! Sadly, it's true. There's so much wasted potential with her, too. Imagine all the minifigs.
-
I'd say Jango is the more likely of the two, simply because the new molds already exist and we haven't seen any AOTC sets in quite awhile. One can only hope!

Pics aren't showing up for me...

Minifigures for this sets are looking good! I love the redesign for IG-88.

This is a really interesting subject to bring up! On one hand, I do agree with you. I was a kid just a few short years ago and remember the excitement that I had walking into Target once and seeing the new AT-ST with Chewie and Watto's Junkyard sets. I just remember the excitement that I had that I could now get a Chewie without having to buy the $100+ Millenium Falcon. Feelings like that just don't happen the same way anymore. On the other hand, it is nice to be able to plan ahead and budget. As both a college student and a newlywed, the budget is definitely tight and things like personal expenditures need a bit of planning. I would love being surprised with new sets on the shelves, but it's the BIG sets (*UCS*) that definitely need to be budgeted for. If there was a way to find out about pricing, availability, etc. of the expensive exclusive sets but still be surprised by retail sets, I'd be down with that.

I agree with most of the sentiment here, it's leaps and bounds ahead of the previous incarnation. Looks like another good reason to buy the Executor.
-
The Phantom Menace is about to get a LOT of love if that's the case. Assuming of course that January's wave includes even more TPM sets.
-
Looks great! I'd say this Dengar is a definite improvement.
-
Definitely. If there's one scene remaining that deserves justice from Lego, it has to be that one. If the license ends someday without a more definitive Mos Eisley set being made, there will be a lot of angry collectors out there (myself included).

ONLY 3 left on Amazon as of this moment!!!! It's Amazon though, so stock may get replenished. But at this late in the game...it may not...
-
It's actually from the Special Edition of ANH, not TPM. I don't believe we saw any classic vehicles in TPM. But I would like to see this model made! And now that you post that picture, I'd rather see it as part of a large Mos Eisley theme.

General Pirates of the Caribbean Theme Discussion Thread

That may have been the rumor several months ago, but the series is being put on hold for now (story here). Which means that the line may or may not continue past next year. -
Target has some great clearance items on right now! I picked up a few Lego Games: Magikus and Monster 4. Scored both for under $9!

Oh, no worries. The POTC line won't continue for nearly as long as Star Wars. For one, the demand just wouldn't be there. And there isn't nearly as much material to draw from for sets. But speaking of the Black Pearl, I'm eagerly awaiting news on that as well. If there's only one POTC set that I purchase, it would be this one. -
Nice finds! It sounds like Kmart is the place to check out right now. None of the other stores in my area have started clearing room for the summer sets yet.
