  1. Looking at series 6, the Castle set was the top seller. Similar for series 5, Castle and Pirate sets #1 & 2. Hopefully TLG will continue to offer these high demand themes. .
  2. The Green Grocer used to be my favorite years ago. It is large and pairs will with the older modulars. Great canidate to MOC your own interior. For $300 that is a great deal. Why do you suppose TLG has not issed a Post Office or Doctors Office yet for the Modular Series?
  3. Sad most are disappointed in this years WV train and the big Chirstmas Tree. Unfortunatly, regarding the train I am a little disappointed also. Hopefully in person it is a better set. Regarding the Christmas Tree, like the idea...expensive. Will be insteresting how these sets sell. Strong possilbity we see some sales on at least one of these later in 2026. One thing to add. Instead of getting the Big Christmas Tree this year, I have purchased the Bricklink Designers series 5 Theves of Tortuga. Going to make this our Holdiay set this year. Not sure how going to work into my WV display, maybe Santa will raise a pint with the Pirates.
  4. How are there no photos leaked for this years WV set yet?
  5. Ok I'll admit it. It is taking forever and a day for October to roll around.
  6. I fully agree. Traditionally WV sets are good sellers for TLG, revenue should justify enought time for designers to create something new and wonderful each year. Perhaps with the increase in number of sets being released the design team just doesn't have as much time available as tbey used to. Also the top designers may be more interested in the more complicated design projects.
  7. It depends how good the new Modular release will be this year. I usally purchase 1st day if I want them. If I delay, then I really don't want the set and oftin regreat purchasing when on sale.
  8. IMO the old WV train station was good, just not big enough. I expanded mine about 50% larger: added a larger indoor seating area for the cafe, extend the outdoor benches bit to add more mini figs traveling. Would have pervered the bus sold separately with more pieces of the set going into a larger station, New set is coming out in a little over 1 month. TLG should start teasing us with pictures soon!
  9. So what is everyone wishing for this years WV set, a fantasy/whimsical train or something more more prototypical? I’m wishing for prototypical but will still purchase ether way. Love TLG trains.
  10. Hopefully the Pirate them continues to have a strong demand. Typically if TLG will sell it, I will buy it.
  11. Thank you for the heads up the existing cannons are going out of production. Will be placing a bricks and pieces order to get a doz or so. Have Tortuga on order. Wishing had ordered the Seaside market when offered, will try to build something close from my collection of bricks. Regarding the coconut cape, love the house, rock work not so much. As crowd funding is sometime off will see if it grows on me.
  12. Too fearful of missing TORTUGA to chance it. You are braver and richer now than me. Too fearful of missing TORTUGA to chance it. You are braver and richer now than me.
  13. I am personally glad they have pushed up the max sets offered, I called off work to order as didn't want to miss out. Was expecting Theieves of Tartuga to sell out within a few hours, this was not the case as of 6/17 beleive they have only funded slighly over 30K sets. My question is, how many of a particular set can they offer before said set is no longer concidered special/limitted production? Wonder how many of the Theives of Tartuga would have sold if offered thru Lego's Ideas theme? At 30K sets to be offered, I am not concidering my copy to be that limitted. Curvious what others thought? I purchased to build and enjoy, not as an collector/investment. IMO would think would have to be under the 10K limit to be concidered limitted. I hope they sell a million of this set to get more interest in the Pirate Theme! Theives of Tartuga is my first Designer's purchase. All the offering for Series 5 were good. Sure you will enjoy them all.
  14. Hopefully more sets sell before the deadline. Strong Pirate sales should interest TLG into making more sets on this theme. A set of pirate mini figures would be excellent!
  15. Very interesting, thank you for sharing.
  16. First designer program purchase, Thieves of Tortuga. Called off work to be sure to get as in the past they sold out so quickly. Mixed feelings about the set limits increase. Glad they did so more fans can purchase, kinda disappointed TLG didn’t announce this ahead of the crowd funding…could have saved a sick day and set now not a rare. Overall I’m just happy I was able to order and can’t wait to build. If I purchase from a future crowd funding maybe I won’t have to take a sick day.
  17. Hello everyone. This was my first Designer Program purchase. Figured I would be sorry if I missed it so purchased, it is expensive. So at 11:06 AM (EST) was able to purchase and was already fully funded, per bar under picture looked like 7K pruchases .(looked a little over 20% full and 30K was the max of the range per TLG). At 11 AM EST checked and bar looked about 80% full. Just checked this evening at 6 PM EST and the bar looks like it has been reduced to say 60%. Noticed a similar issue with the Transivaina set also. Do you think TLG added more sets to be sold (say 50K instead of 30K) and that is what adjusted the bar. I was very impressed at 11 AM EST as looked like both sets would be sold out first day, TLG knows how to market their products and gauge fairly accurualy demand. Maybe was just something with their website (counted sets in people carts, etc. vs actual purchased). Anyways glad I purchased and possible more are avialable for others. Now have to wait forever till it ships.
  18. First, glad they are contining the theme. Winter Village is basically if TLG builds it I will by it! As for this years release wish more pieces were in the building vs secondary builds. Not a lot of room for elves inside.
  19. You know, you should put this on Lego Ideas. Think a lot of AFOL would like something like this. Not sure where you are on piece count, but adding 2 coaches/cars would be a nice touch. One could be a simple flat car (low piece count) with some scary mini figs.
  20. Feel TLG has offered us a good starting point with this years offering. Plan on adding a little more depth to the buildings to expand the interior scenes. Did this with the train station, added to the coffee shop area...came out well. Hopefully can add a color sensor and powered up hub to the tram, sensor allows for automation. Glad TLG kept pricing at $100 US.
  21. I hope its a good set this year. Penguin colony with snowmen?
  22. Little late on this tread but here are a few thoughts Add to your collection slowly, get sets you like, whatever your favorite set is today TLG will offer something better in the future. Don't overpay for old sets, avoid resellers whenever possible, get your spouse interested in an alternate expensive hobby so your not alone, start looking for good places to hide Lego this stuff piles up quickly. Avoid that yard sale $5 baggie of used bricks you will never use them, invest in a good storage system for these bricks as you didn't take this advice (no one does). Welcome to the hobby.
  23. My Lego store has a box by the checkout for discounted sets. Mostly damaged boxes and such. Have seen discontinued sets in there also.
  24. Set is $500 US so bar is set fairly high. Like the overall look of the set. Engine looks great. Tender larger then expected. Passenger car (coach) good. Would look better with a second passenger car. Station build looks not too complex, easy to expand. Seams like a large brick count for the track and ballast. Hard to get used to a 10 wide train, is that close to actual "G" scale? Overall looks good, think I am going to pass as not sure will work for my city layout. Will be fun to watch AFOLs motorize this and run in their cities. Maybe they will change my mind ;).
  25. Nothing is more frustrating then waiting for the cool GWP set to finally be available, going on line or to the store on day one and its sold out. What a bummer! It would be nice if TLG would allow VIP's who missed the GWP during the defined dates of its offering to be sent the set at a later date. I would be ok if if they mandated the VIP had to purchase an additional $35 worth of product for free shipping on the GWP (both shipped at a later date). I would even be ok if the set came in a plan box (if they ran out of boxes....they never run out of bricks). That way everybody wins.
