Those hints are giving me anxiety. I could get behind "lowering expectations", which we should always do when it comes to Lego sets, it's way too easy to let the imagination run wild when speculating. But now we are in for a shock (or should I shay, Dobby'sh shock! It'sh confirmed ). I can't imagine they're shockingly bad, so they must be much different than what we're expecting. And we're not too comfortable with different

Every time a set is leaked some AFOLs say Lego should officially reveal it because what's the point of keeping it a secret anymore. Here's the thing - Lego has spent actual money on an ad campaign and that's a very good reason to stick to the marketing and reveal schedule. They can't just discard the campaign because some people have already seen it and just want to see the official pictures already. Just be patient, you most likely won't get the the set before it's released anyway

This should be fun! DH based: 76395 - $29.99 - easiest choice, tent / locket horcrux battle. HRH, patronus doe. It should be interesting to see how they're going to build the manifestation of Ron's fears buildable creature: 76394 - $39.99 - let's say Fawkes 2018 remake: 76392 - $59.99 - I do like the idea of a better Whomping Willow, so that's my bet as well. We all know it's just about giving us proper werewolf Lupin, regular Lupin (maybe hide a transformation feature inside the tree), Padfoot and improved Wormtail. Maybe give Sirius Moody's hair as it was meant to be. Hermione with zipped jacket before she reveals the Time-turner would be a nice touch new non DH set: 76393 - $119.99 - Grimmauld Place, it has to happen someday. Will likely reuse (but hopefully not) the Burrow figures of Molly, Arthur and Tonks, Lupin from the above set too. The only real draw would be OotP Sirius, possibly Kreacher and maybe new Crookshanks if we're lucky anniversary remake: 76391 - $249.99 (D2C) - not possible with the upcoming Forbidden Corridor remake, but whatever: Philosopher's stone challanges - remake of The Chamber of the Winged Keys and The Final Challenge + the rest, inlcuding detachable chessboard and fully moulded Fluffy. Golden figure - Dumbledore
-
Yes, I can see it being remade - but now with Ford Anglia for the easier escape And 250$ D2C is Hogwarts Express on viaduct and Ford Anglia "flying" around - such an iconic scene!. Of course both Anglias must be different from previous ones and still not fit Harry and Ron side by side
-
It's weirdly tough to imagine things that are both disappointing and haven't been done in the reboot yet, especially at 120$ price point. It's probably not the sets themselves then, but again selection and/or execution of minifigures, aka lots of reused faces and lack of leg/skirt prints. Excuse me? That's one of the biggest priorities from DH1. Unless Bathilda reuses Helga Hufflepuff's face depending which scene, but if we're going for disappointment - it's just the trio against Scabior and Fenrir.
-
It's a bit of a hefty price point even for a large train, unless it comes with Hogsmeade Station and perhaps thestral carriages (it can't be possible that thestrals stay exclusive to that one CoG set, can it?). I wouldn't mind it but it's a small chance, and Gringotts is definitely of higher priority
-
Iron Man 3's Mandarin, some figs from Prince of Persia, especially Nizam, some PotC non-pirate characters in old-timey clothes like Gibbs or Henry from the last movie
-
Oh thank god, it's not just me then I never get why people complain about the camping scenes being too long, there's only 20 minutes of screen time between setting the tent up and visit to Godric's Hollow, when things speed up. And it neves gets boring to me because of the tension between the trio, If the rumor's true about DH sets not being present in this year's wave, that's a bit disappointing but at the same time relieving in a sense? So far the theme has been largely linear and, as has been mentioned, it definitely would feel like getting to the Deathly Hallows means the theme is ending. And it's too early for that. I welcome the idea of 2021 being the celebration year and the normal schedule picking up next year
-
Not too many, but exactly as many as one can add on top of the core melody. And, as impressive as it is, it's not always necessary, but professionals do it anyway just because they can.

Yaxley with "undesirable no 1" poster.

Sure thing! Along with Charity Babbage and a dead unicorn I'd love to have Dumbledore the White (and all other versions) but limbo Voldemort is waaaay too grim. But Dobby's grave is a possibility I think, but rather in a potential Shell Cottage set, and most likely a sticker.
-
Well the cafe lady of course! Such an underrated character But seriously - Grey Lady! Pretty much the last chance for a ghost, as deep down we all know Fat Friar and Bloody Baron are not happening. And if we go all out - use the new satin/opal color on minifig parts, that should make for an interesting looking figure.

Oh, I didn't realise Jungle Dragon reuses the mold (even if only the lower jaw), I was just going off of j2g's review Interesting. I wouldn't mind if HP creatures received such a good treatment as well, as we desperately need a good representation of the Basilisk (and Iron belly for that matter).
-
It's a weird situation because Ninjago dragons have used brick built heads (with exception of one 4+ set) for a few years now and introducing two completely new molds seemed out of place to me, which got me thinking they are probably going to pop up somewhere else. It's not the perfect match for the basilisk obviously, but it's a good enough fit if the designers weren't allowed to create a new mold for whatever reason. And personally I'd rather have a molded head rather than brick built
-
I don't think it's been mentioned here yet - the Overlord Dragon from Ninjago apparently has two new molds for its head, check out just2good's review if you want a better look. The molds are not perfect especially with those wonky teeth, but they could work for the basilisk's head I think. Any thoughts?

LEGO Ideas Discussion
BenderBrau replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I doubt Kanga and Roo have any chance of appearing. Christopher will almost surely be left out, he's out of scale. I doubt Rabbit will be excluded, maybe not as iconic, but still a crucial member of the cast. Also he might be the only one not needing a new mould if he were to use the same head as Bugs Bunny will have (recolored of course). I'm also hoping the designers will make a unique recolor for the Owl -
Ummm... I don't really have much to say about those books, they're just not for me, at least not with the "moments" they chose. But I do appreciate the new variants of the professors, even if only McGonagall is truly great (Flitwick's beards doesn't work that well IMO, and he could use a hat). I can see some potential here, though, just had an idea (which drove me to write this post tbh) they could print on the front Lego-fied versions of classic Harry Potter covers and have inside some vignettes of actual, significant moments. I would buy those in an instant.
-
This line is getting outrageously expensive if these rumored prices are true (and I mean overall cost to have them all). 250$, I did not expect another D2C (or quasi-D2C like Ninjago City Docks) already. By bet is on Hogsmeade, but I also wouldn't mind Gringotts with a very deep underground section to fit the roller coaster tracks and the Ironbelly that's on par with the Ninjago dragons Same here. Don't mind the stickers for the title and eyes, it's just that the build around them doesn't even try to resemble the actual prop. It could a deliberate choice due to the play feature, but still not a good looking thing.
-
Somehow I understood a ghost would need a new mold Yeah, a night cap is tricky, although I reckon it's not the only reason the ending scene was chosen. @Karrit nails the reasoning behind this decision, I'd also add it's just easier to make relatively simple minifigs of a boy, his father and an old man in vintage clothes.
-
What kind of molds? It's supposed to be based on a book, not any specific adaptation. I doubt the figures we're getting are anything more than designer's interpretation, and so would be the ghosts.

Winter Village Sets - Rumours and Discussion
BenderBrau replied to Gearslover01's topic in LEGO Town
I don't think even finally seeing Diagon Alley gave me such a reaction when I saw the Christmas Carol. Sweet baby Jesus, that's a marvellous GWP. I always wandered if Lego would ever make a set based on this story, it's such a staple of Christmas but they already have the WV line and Scrooge's house would hardly fit in there. Making it a GWP was a brilliant idea! Can't wait to have it -
LEGO Ideas Discussion
BenderBrau replied to The Real Indiana Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
35, that's ludicrous. And vast majority of them I'm seeing for the first time! Ideas has gone crazy these past few months. It seems like getting to 10K is not a big deal anymore, you just need to either use a popular licence or make a large detailed building (bonus points if it can be both), then post on post on social media and just watch the votes coming Quick comments on all of them, becuase I have nothing better to do, starting with the oldest: Trabant: that's a better looking model than Lego's Fiat! But it may be too niche of a car, not "cool" enough, plus large scale vehicles are taken by Creator/18+ theme, we haven't had a car in Ideas since Caterham. Chances are slim to none Bangladesh National Parliamennt: Nice little model of a building nobody outside of its home country knows it exists. It would fail to find an audience in the west, plus it's just an architecture set. Chances are basically none Temple of Hermit: I voted on this one, it's a beautiful model and would love to see it made. Some say it may clash with upcoming Ninjago City Gardens but I disagree, there's quite a difference between traditional Japanese architecture and what Ninjago does (besides Temple of Airjitzu). We haven't had a set like this since the mentioned ToA, I'd say chances are decent Caribbean Clipper: it also had my vote, absolutely stunning ship! It's just so unfortunate that in its entire time of gathering support Pirate Bay has managed to reach 10k, be approved and put on shelves. If it weren't for that set, the Clipper would very likely be the one in its place. But now chances are slim to none. House from Up: I will always vote for Up until it's finally made, hopefully Lego will cave in someday. It's hard to tell the chances with projects already rejected, but they shouldn't be too low with a movie that well regarder. BMW: good models, but again it's just a large scale car, Lego already does them. chances are slim, but slightly better than Trabant's due to BMW's wider appeal. Bonsai: another one of my votes, love this Idea. I'm hoping Lego will someday do a tree with a full, realistic looking foliage, Treehouse's was decent but still not on par with some professional mocs. With TLG's recent venture into relaxing building (Forma, mosaics) targeted at adults, I'd say chances are pretty good. HeroQuest: I know some people would love a RPG board game translated into Lego, but I don't think it's a good idea at all. Not if the board is to be played with like a normal board game, which includes ability to pack it all in one box. I could be wrong though, hardcore RPG isn't really my thing. Chances are likely better than I think (which is poor) Portal 2: I'm a fan of the games, of course I'd love to have it. It's just a shame that portal mechanics/play features are physically impossible to translate into the real world, although with Lego's revenue they could invest in the technology Somehow I don't think Portal (and other Dimensions licences) has a real chance, but it would be a nice surprise Sheriff's Safe: really like this one, cool little desk decoration and an actual (simple) locking mechanism should be doable. Hopefully one of the designers will see it as a challenge and make it happen. I'd say it's one of the strongest contenders here Doggos: pure cuteness, although the models in the project are a bit too similar to the small "Year of the (chinese zodiac animal)" sets in size and techniques. if Lego decides to approve it I think they should do something a bit different. Chances are decent, though. The Bakery: beautiful, but it's just a building, too similar to modulars and because of that its chances are mediocre at best. Can't deny though a 19th century city building in Lego form (especially with non modern minifigs) would be a dream come true. Exploratorium: great model, will never believe it's under 3K pieces, but that's not the point. Better chances than previous project thanks to its uniqueness, but If made Lego would very likely trim down its size and functions, potentially losing some of its greatness. Windmill: another fantastic build, kinda similar to Treehouse with "outdoor adventure" theme but still feels unique enough and it's just a grat design. Chances are decent The imperial fortress: it's so obvious it's a result of Barracuda Bay's popularity. Nice looking building with pirates nostalgia, that's it. Almost no chances Gold rush mine roller coaster: don't really like this one, but it could be just me not seeing the appeal of mines, regardless of the setting (Moria being obvious exception ). I don't see it being made, especially as it's clashing with Lego's own Fairground theme Seagull Bay: even more obvious Barracuda Bay wannabe. There's more substance and detail which makes me like it a bit more, but chances are still close to zero Southwest plane: excellent job. Ideas is the only platform (outside of Creator/18+) where something like this can be done, so unless Lego is already planning their own plane this project has a pretty good chance Calendar: another cool desktop accesory, very neatly done. I know I'd love to have it but also I'd be lazy and change the date maybe once month I can see it being approved. Brickwest studios: fantastic project, very clever way of doing western theme by making it a film set. Would love to see it done, but it may not be feasible with how minifig heavy it would have to be. Fast food corner: I like it ok, although it's not as strong an entry as the bakery. Also a modular, chances are close to zero Animal Crossing: haven't played the game, probably never will, but judging by the popularity it could have the strongest chance out of licenced ideas Community: one of the best comedy shows out there, I would definitely like to have it. It maybe "too soon" as Seinfeld was just approved, but we thought the same about Seinfeld Discworld: I've never read Pratchett, but this design is definitely eye-catching. It was rejected once 7 years ago, but today Lego may be more daring. It wouldn't surprise me to see it approved. Ocean House: same deal as the windmill, "outdoor adventure in an exotic setting", with about equal chances; personally I like the windmill a bit more, although the ocean house would surely make for a great set as well 31 Minutos: same as the Bangladesh building, too regional, no wider recognition, no chance Night at the Museum: It's not hard to tell if people voted because they liked the movie or because they want Lego to finally make a museum set, not just exhibits (hint: it's the latter ). It may have a smaller chance due to double licence (movie and the museum, not really sure how licencing such a venue would work), but definitely wouldn't mind it being chosen Avatar: seems to be all the rage right now and would sell like hot cakes. Pretty strong chance if there will be no licencing issues. Naruto: another popular franchise, would find it's audience pretty easily. Wouldn't be surprised if approved Hocus Pocus: it may be the case of YMMV, but I don't think it's as popular IP as Home Alone; it could be populer as a semi Halloween themed set, though. Medieval market: already seeing Blacksmith wannabes? And a modular on top of that? No way it's gonna make it. Beautiful design, though Schitt's Creek: never seen it, but I'd like to someday. Probably about the same chance as other comedy show projects. Starry Night: may be the best of the bunch, such a fantastic Idea with even better execution surely has at least a good chance. But it needs to be done like the project, not simplified like the mosaics or, even worse, those sketches. Ratatuille 2 Or How I'm Goint To Pester Lego Until The End Of Time: we've had reuploads before, but never this fast! It could potentially break the Ideas even further: people will follow suit, start resubmitting failed projects, which should hit 10K no problem (people wlll vote for their favorite project, no matter if it's already been rejected) and suddenly half of ideas in review are ones that we've seen before, circulating wave after wave until they're all approved (or the rules change). Pretty interesting to see what comes of it. Fall Guys: never played it, probably will someday as my nephews want this game. Don't see it having very strong chances, as popular as it is I can't recall any Ideas sets based on current fads -
Don't want to risk it yet, but IIRC previous CMFs had - initially, at the release - limit of 20 (I might be wrong, of course). I think there's a possibility increasing the limit means there won't be full box for purchase on S@H, but still you can get it if you order 60.
-
A dream come true would be Hogsmeade village - Honeydukes, Three Broomsticks, Hog's Head, Shrieking Shack and maybe train station (with new Hogwarts Express). The figs are up, but no full box (yet?). Limit is 60, should I trust a person who will be fulfilling my order will understand that I want to receive the full box if I have 60 in my cart?
-
Ooof, now that's revealed the PS Harry is indeed in the set, I'm really tempted. But I promised myself to buy the CMFs first and make some room to display it. Besides my budget is wearing thin after I purchased some of the HP sets from ebay (8 sets at total 33% off RRP, half of them I already have but I couldn't resist since there was Great Hall in the lot, which is near impossible to find at a decent discount in UK ).
