That cat head mould is glorious! I also think it would benefit from pupils, but it's not a deal breaker, when the expression is just so perfect. The WHAT now? I must've missed it, I'm scrolling down on IG but can't see it. Oh well, maybe the full fig will leak eventually

Not until this piece appears in dark bluish grey. I guess it should be possible to use a cloth skirt, although from the ones that are usable, CMF Cho's seems to be too long, ang Spooky Girl's can be hard to come by
-
Technically it is green, as you can see top and bottom of it are indeed green making it its base color. What I don't understand is why haven't they given her a skirt (cloth or this short one from Trolls, both would be good) and white legs

Perhaps because he was a Head Boy in his 7th year? Or the badge's design was different in 1940s? Either way I'm really happy we're getting him. Although looking at the figure it's pretty weird that the striped pattern doesn't continue on the hips. It's a new print on the legs anyway, so why not add this small detail? Someone in the design team was being lazy.

So is it a full Quidditch balls set in a chest?
-
Supported! I need a Mask minifigure in my life and I would not hesitate to buy this set. Would be even better if it was based on Coco Bongo scene with Tina, but I'm aware Lego might not be willing to have a nightclub in their line-up. Good stuff, I wish you best of luck

For that price Fawkes had better have healing tears Alright, I know it's not the most egregious price, but I assumed he'd be in the same price range as Hedwig. Although it is a rather large bird, so what do I know. Buildable Harry and Hermione - seriously? It would have to be an animatronic of them dancing in the tent for me to be interested, but I know that DH has been ruled out. And why exclude Ron? I'm completely baffled, maybe they'll look decent enough, but still it's the easiest skip of the entire theme.

Please come with all the challenges, please come with all the challenges, please come... The chessboard alone will be extremely disappointing, but other rooms would definitely justify the price and give an opportunity for more figures
-
Oh, that pixie caught me off guard, I didn't think we'd get them this year. I quite like it but I think it would work better with a solid color (medium blue/dark azure). Perhaps they chose this opalescent color to make them more distinguishable in the environment, which is fine. I hope there's at least 4 in the set.

That's where you're wrong, as obviously the greatest LT is "Bully for Bugs" That being said, I wouldn't mind a Bugs variant, and Brunhilda is definitely up there as one of the most iconic choices (just like matador Bugs). That's a good material for a second CMF, let's hope the first series is successful enough

Damn it people, you almost gave me a heart attack I think the poster meant to give us a general idea what Marvin will look like with a skirt and they used the closest piece they had available. Not the greatest execution though, my evening would've fine without this "leak".

Where do you see LEGO in 30-40 years?
BenderBrau replied to HappyAFOL's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Assuming the world doesn't go to hell and the situation is stable enough for a toy manufacturer to keep operating: Better incorporation of electronics, for example actually useful light bricks that give a bit stronger light and can be turned on and off. Or maybe motors small enough to fit in a standard City car - rechargeable of course, not requiring six batteries. An application that works like software used by proffesional builders to build large scale models. Right now it's useful only for building with standrd bricks and plates, but maybe in the future it will be able to use all available pieces. It would work like this - upload a photo or 3D scan of an object and the app will "MOC" it for you, give a list of required pieces and generate instructions. That's a fantatic idea and I think it's a natural progression of the "experiments" like Vidiyo Lego is conducting right now. If VR headsets become commonplace like smartphones are today, I can definitely see half real, half virtual cities becoming a thing -
I thought so as well, until the Ideas set was revealed today. Looking at their faces side by side it's clear Bugs needs a separate mold - he has a bit longer ears, eyes are a different shape, much smaller nose and, perhaps most important, unline Rabbit his buck teeth are always shown even with closed mouth.

I mean the title checks out and it's weird to claim it to be for 20th anniversary when it's been 24 already, but I could be wrong and it's something new

You can watch it right now on Dailymotion

This is so pure and wonderful, I think I'm in love The build is just right - pretty substantial tree but not taking away from the house, which is full of nice details. I like that tree uses primarily medium nougat, it's a bit underrated color. New moulds are *chef's kiss*, fantastic job. Of course Pooh should have medium legs, but it's going to be an easy fix once - if? but let's hope that eventually - they are available . I was expecting Piglet to have short legs, seems like Lego doesn't even consider making new piece for very thin legs, we just have to live with that. On his own I think he looks very good, just out of proportion. Overall, brilliant set and a must buy.

@Alexandrina That may be true, but I'd rather they stick to the original characters as chances for any further sets/CMFs are, as far as we can tell, rather slim. That said it's a miracle we're getting them in the first place, I'll be happy even if it's 10 out of 12 characters I want. Also I wouldn't really mind Lola that much, she's one of the best characters in Looney Tunes Show On a side note, I also looked up Witch Hazel's classic episodes and... there's only four of them? Sure seemed to me like it's more. On top of that I've never seen the last one (until now). BTW Taz isn't much better in that regard, only 5 classic cartoons.
-
My final prediction: Bugs Daffy Elmer (no brainers) Porky Marvin (confirmed) Sylverster (+ Speedy accesory) Granny (Tweety accesory) Wile .E. Coyote (Road Runner accesory) Yosemite Sam Foghorn (Henery Hawk Accesory, although I'd much rather prefer the dog) Taz Witch Hazel No Lola please, she wasn't in the original cartoons. Personally I'd swap Taz for Pepe, but Lego doesn't have the balls to include him.
-
Oh hell no, unacceptable. You can clearly see in the cartoons there is some thickness to it and it better be a plastic piece. I'm still wondering how they're going to approach Speedy (if at all). He could easily work as a regular minifig, much better than Tweety, but at the same time I want all characters to be more or less to scale. What a conundrum!

Seems weird without any printing but it's correct. He does wear green in some appearances, but mostly red. The addition of his skirt will definitely flesh him out more. Also he needs a second, angry face, this one doesn't fit his character very much. I'm sure the designer have included it, but we won't find out until the series is revealed
-
He definitely should be, at least I think they should go for something different than "people in costumes" in Disney CMFs. Also there's the fact that it's now only 12 minifigs in the series, pairing the bigger (in size) characters with their usually smaller rivals could be the way to give us a more complete cast.
-
That made me laugh, thank you One problem though, it couldn't be an alternate face, he doesn't have any headgear and thus will never have a seconday expression. Although I wouldn't mind getting it as the main face. I had this idea circling in my mind for a while: would it be possible for Lego to print on the "inner" side of an arm (where the wrist is)? I'm talking of course about giving Death Eaters The Dark Marks. It would be a nice innovation to introduce, most likely in a CMF. I know it's not very practical as minifigs can't twist their arms like humans and you'd have to raise their arms to see it, but I'd love if they included that detail - and obviously printing on the visible side of an arm is out of the question,
-
Even worse: Ukrainian Ironbelly sculpture on top of Gringotts' broken dome (without the rest of the building), three out of scale minifigs on top of it. And it's the only DH set we're gonna get, the theme ends this year
-
Oh wow, what an eventful evening I think I like them, much too early to tell for sure though. Hogsmeade looks just excellent, I hope final product will not be changed too much, Great Hall with the Chamber is actually better than I expected, a bit weird but I like that the Chamber is spacious enough for the basilisk. Myrtle's bathroom is maybe a bit too simple, but we all know cat Hermione is the most important part. Fluffy I find underwhelming, of course I'd rather if it was fully moulded (and posable like dinosaurs) but this type of build seems to be a standar in this theme, so I won't complain (too much)

They made 4+ Star Wars sets, which all are PG12 (I think). It's not about films themselves but ingraining the franchise into the minds, it's just a matter of whether Harry Potter as a franchise is deemed, by marketing executives, "worthy" of that. I could see some 4+ sets, or maybe even Duplo (not likely but who knows), somewhere down the line, that is of course if the theme is to stay a bit longer than we're expecting
