[Factions Ep. 7 - Cat A][O7 - Ordo - CE] The Wrecking Ball
Ross Fisher replied to Ross Fisher's topic in Factions Archive
@RocketBoy Thanks! I try to write in an appropriate tone of voice, but I don't always get it right. I do have a black felt background that I was using. It really soaks up the light. I'll try and find that again. @Darth Bjorn Thanks! I bought him months ago and was waiting for the right time to use him. I figured my current series of non-human Mandalorians was the perfect time. -
*Your entry has earned 8 XP* One genius even had the idea of roping in some of the more obvious underdogs. Show off just how much we weren't there to tiptoe around Imperial remnants. Unfortunately, for me that meant a trip to Ordo, to bail a Mandallian Giant out of jail. This walking mountain went by the name "Brok", and sweetheart he broke everything he touched. I wasn't best pleased with the mess he made of my ship, but from what I hear, he was well worth recruiting. I don't know how much he influenced any of our other recruits into joining up. Frankly, I don't care. The first time I saw that guy in action; it all clicked into place. He was like a wrecking ball. Smashed neat Imperial ranks to hell. Any Imp was left standing was soiling themselves. And it's times like that I'm happy I jumped ship when I did.

I really like the idea. Do you have a zoomed-out shot? It would be good to see the whole thing from the "inside" angle.

@Goldiebricks Thanks! Normally my posts have a bit longer storyline than this, but this is one of several I have planned. If you want to see some of our other builds, they're listed here: https://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/178413-faction-clan-eldar-ce/&do=findComment&comment=3256166 As Ben says, we're always looking for new members. Now is an important time for us. Retaking the homeworld!

*Your entry has earned 10 XP* Well, my information put me in touch with a pair of Duros hiding out among the warren of Keldabe City's alleyways. The Rado Sisters were, at that time, better known by their handle "The Blue Flame". A pair of political agitators, they could get the message out that Clan Eldar were home to stay. With this in place, we could begin the factor in the support of the people.

[K11 - Odik II - TT] Between Blue Ferns

A pun like that and you weren't tempted to split them into two clumps? -
Some really nice details in this build. For example, the use of those 3x1 smooth-bottomed plates for the light fixtures works really well. I should confess, when I first saw the wall mount I thought it was a tower block seen out the window. I was trying to figure out who you fitted a forced perspective in such a small build. The whole build does have a very "Mandalore" aesthetic to it, so kudos for that. I think my biggest issue is the placing of the plant pot. It's just a bit too central and distracting. Might work better to tuck it into a corner. My other suggestion would be to find a camera angle where you can't see the white background through the crevices between the bricks. I know that's really hard, though. I think it's why I prefer using black backgrounds.

I'm putting together a whole series of nonhuman Mandalorians, and Zor-ann here is just the first in the set. I came at this from the other perspective; I really wanted to use the piece, it's got the Jaig Eyes, so it's really suitable for a Mando. But I didn't just want to build Kanan Jarrus in armour. Wanted a bit more nuance than that. @JintaiZ Thanks! That blue on the rug is a bit more vibrant than it looks in the build, so I'mglad to have that feedback.

*Your entry has earned 10 XP* Up until that point, one thing had been abundantly clear; Clan Eldar would never be able to relax until they had settled scores with their past; until they could walk the halls of their stronghold; until they were free and independent citizens of Mandalore. I'll come back to the nitty-gritty of how we made that happen, but for now I'll tell you one strange story that sticks out from the whole endeavour: When we finally got there; when I got to see the Eldar Stronghold for myself, the only person I met was a blind old housekeeper by the name of Zor-ann. A Miraluka, I am given to understand. A race who lost their sight millenia ago, and who learned to compensate for it in other ways. Naturally, this being Mandalore, even the housekeepers are armed and deadly. And this one had single-handedly managed to keep this house from being stolen, demolished or ransacked for the better part of a decade. It took a few very scary moments for me to convince her that I was working for the same family she was, and that, yes, everything was going to go back to the way it was. When I relayed all this information back to Val Eldar, it was clear that she was overcome with emotion. Those big helmets might help to mask the tears, but you can't choke up for that long in front of a diplomat and expect me not to know what's going on. Well that reunion would be a joyful one when it happened, but we still had a lot of work to do before then.

@JintaiZ @Darth Bjorn @marvelBoy123 Thanks! This build is probably a bit simplistic. I threw it online to link up some story elements, rather than demonstrate any new techniques. My favourite part has to be how well the cheese slope danger stripes work.

[H19 - Skye - TT] Pandemonium Unleashed

If you wanted to make an example of traitors, I woulda thought Fnab would be a better candidate? He actually swore allegiance to the Triumvirate in the first place, then left and joined a different faction, taking a lot of his XP with him. I'm not inviting an attack, here. Just saying that if this is how the Triumvirate is going to be behaving, Fnab will be speaking a whole lot softer, and carrying much a bigger stick.- 13 replies

*Your entry has earned 5 XP* It was somewhere in the middle of all this that I saw a chance to right a few wrongs. Clan Eldar had recently recruited a number of Clone soldiers. There were a lot of unanswered there about their own genetic makeup, and exactly what that meant for them. With the Triumvirate's power in that sector, heading back to Kamino wasn't an option for us. But, fortunately for us, the Lurrians of Lur have a reputation for excellence in genetics. And, since I'd held on to a copy of the data I got from Kamino on my last visit (you'd be surprised what people will let you bet on the Pazaak tables of Cantonica) I felt it was only right that I put that information to good use with my new family. The Lurrians made it clear that it might take some time before any of that raw DNA could be turned into useful information, but they would contact me when they knew more.

As Bjorn said, you worked a lot to get access to Umbara. Really happy for you that it has paid off.

Sign me up for whatever day. I'll do a mulled wine build. That's my thing! -
Clan Eldar would like to declare K10 as a sector where Pyerce's forces have been spotted.
