  1. Ah, so that's why that rule was introduced. Give the rest if us a chance! I do love those columns. Saw them in a Forlorn Empire build a while back. Very tasteful.
  2. Nice work. If Sharpe has taught me anything, you take off the shako for sneaky work.
  3. While it's not the same thing, here is a link to the Lego Pirates Discord server: https://discord.gg/FuSNsWByPd
  4. Yeah! Another awesome build. Are you mainly planning on going for a realistic style, or would you be willing try and make more fantastical builds look realistic?
  5. I've often thought players should be allowed to just launch a ship, build a revenue stream, maybe get a letter of marque. Test the waters, if you will (pun intended), and only then declare for a specific nation. It would probably be a lot harder to manage that, though.
  6. Let's not forget the religious juggernaut at the heart of everything with a military arm and a fierce hatred of heretics!
  7. We've let that slip for a while now. No-one is in a leadership position who can take responsibility for the ranks anymore . But there are plenty of organisations outside of the factions that do grant ranks. For example, I run the Knights Treasurer, who grant knighthoods to dedicated builders. And there is the Order of Navigation.
  8. Congratulations! Well deserved!
  9. Nice work! I'd love to see a whole farm of them, with the channels in between.
  10. Totally true! @Darnok with all that TNT I'm surprised you're not going for an open-cast mine. Much safer for those fragile WTC marines!
  11. A great build! I've been in some industrial-era landscapes recently, and the clean lines are totally appropriate. Nice work
  12. Challenge accepted! I'll try and figbarf some soon.
  13. I mean... he has valiantly wrestled with the contents of his own cellar on many an occasion. He was won many battles, and also suffered many grievous injuries.
  14. Can Hercule François also be added?
  15. Well this is awkward. He's good and he's prolific!
  16. I agree with @Professor Thaum here. The game looks intimidating, but what you don't see (because it's squirreled away in private chats) is all the support a nation gives to new players.
  17. @zinnn that's exactly why I wanted to start this thread! The important thing is that not everyone plays the game the same way. For example, I can't handle all the complexity around ships, so I ignore it. Someone like @Khorne tends to do their own thing, but just uses the BOBS world as a backdrop. It's up to you just how involved you get.
  18. That's a really lovely transition colour. I always thought the Friends line deserved more credit for its ability to transition between the traditional colour options.
  19. Oh, for real? This build? I really didn't think much of it. Thanks!
  20. Likewise, if you're not ready to sign up for anything, Lurker's Bay is just a place where you can say hello without anyone trying to put too much pressure on you to join.
  21. OMG, I love it! Silliest build we've had from you in a while. Keep it up!
  22. That was definitely part of the thought process. This could easily have been a shipyard, but I fancied going the other way. Honestly? Just a turtle shell. Maybe a hat like this one?
  23. Oh damn! You just casually led with this? Who are you? Corrington bringing in another ringer here? Hats off to you! I'm also very up for you always introducing him like this. Every post. Keep it running. See how long it will last.
  24. "You vish to tear apart your ugly ships on my Skull Coast?" asked Von Braun, an irritated tone in his voice. "Oui Monsieur," replied the overseer. "It will earn Nola Mar many doubloons!" "How?" he asked, suspicion always on his mind. He didn't like these coin-graspers, and he didn't trust them. "Simple!" answer Monsieur Claude. "Good structural timbers are in demand across the Brick Seas, and there are few merchants who can supply them at the scales needed. Lumber yards are few and far between, and even then, there's no guarantee that there will be a carpenter to knock things into shape." "So your people take ships and turn zem into timber?" "Ships, boats, junks, skiffs, wherries, any old hulks we can drag here are fair game! The prize courts will pay sailors for their captures, but frequently they're sold here for scrap." "So you vill keep ze rest of ze coast clear?" the soldier asked, with a threatening grimace. "Absolutement!" replied the overseer. "You may proceed. For now." As the armoured man stalked away, Monsieur Claude let out a sigh of relief. It was time to get back to work!
