  1. Obviously getting the more important figures is priority, but I certainly wouldn’t complain if we got generic members of each race to populate the builds. It feels more genuine that way
  2. I hope so eventually I did not mean this to be as insulting as it sounds. I just mean people that care very deeply about every aspect of this story inside and out, book, film, etc. really don’t consider variations of characters or even extremely minor characters as boring at all. It would actually be really nice to see some minor characters or even generic Hobbits, just as an example, to populate our lego Middle-earth
  3. The problem isn’t Tauriel. The problem is what they used her for Maybe it would be boring for boring people. Different versions of our main Hobbits plus Bilbo and an assortment of other Hobbits is a very neat prospect for bigger fans
  4. I was just telling some friends of mine that I would absolutely love a Barad-Dûr set that is as tall is the Eiffel Tower set. Imagine how imposing and impressive and intimidating that would be. That would truly do it justice
  5. I think I’d be good with that option. Especially if they made a new Orc armor piece. But I don’t find the likely since they already would need to make so many new pieces for the set
  6. As long as it’s reasonably taller than Orthanc I’ll be happy. I believe it is supposed to be a few inches taller Exactly. Plus there are so many variants of these characters that they never used before. I’m hoping for Sammath Naur versions of Frodo and Sam with dirty faces and clothes. I honestly think I would even prefer that to the Orc disguise versions. It’s just iconic, and having the versions of those two characters specifically from the climax of the film would be really awesome
  7. I would really like this solution. The problem is that Gandalf plus Bilbo plus Thorin’s Company already make 15 figures. I doubt there would be room for old Bilbo, Frodo, Sam, and maybe characters like the Gaffer, Rosie Cotton, etc.
  8. Great list. Lothlorien as a large scale set would look great. I would add Bag End to the list to round it out and that really would be the meat of large scale sets I want to see. After that it would be things like an Orthanc remake and Helm’s Deep D2C. And that’s not even mentioning the untapped wealth of potential for all kinds of play scale sets and battle packs
  9. All of the above are EXCELLENT D2C options. Bag End could include things like party tents and banners and tables and things of that sort (if LOTR based), Moria could easily have different areas based on different scenes (Hollin Gate with Watcher, Chamber of Mazarbul with Cave Troll, Bridge of Khazad-Dûm with Balrog, etc. and the golden hall of Meduseld is my most wanted D2C after Barad-Dûr and Minas Tirith
  10. I think a new and bigger Bag End set would be phenomenal. However, I also disagree that it should be made before Barad-Dûr. Barad-Dûr is definitely a set that will mostly attract hardcore fans and not the casual collector as much, but that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t be made. Rivendell was always going to be the most attractive looking LOTR set they could make, and it was very smart to start there. But if they only ever make sets with bright colors and all good guys, then they will only ever scratch the surface of LOTR. Barad-Dûr always needed to be done as well, being the fortress of the story’s main antagonist, and more personally, as always been at the top of my most wanted list alongside Meduseld
  11. I’m still really hoping we get more figures than the list from the survey leak suggests. Not bad figures at all, but the amount is underwhelming after Rivendell. Especially if these large D2Cs once a year are all we’re getting
  12. Yeah they’re really not even comparable. Which makes sense considering the book title is not referring to Barad-Dûr and Orthanc, even though the movie ran with that idea. The “Two Towers” actually refer to Orthanc and Minas Morgul, which is certainly more comparable considering in the book, one set of the heroes are dealing with Isengard while the other set of heroes are traveling through Morgul Vale Yeah the size difference is pretty significant even though it’s kind of hard to tell in the films. Barad-Dûr’s actual height is not explicitly told, but we can guess pretty close based on information we have. The base of Mount Doom is 3,000ft above the plain of Gorgoroth, with the upper cone rising another 1,500ft. The Sammath Naur (the doorway into Mount Doom) is located in the lower half of the upper cone. We also know that the Sammath Naur has a direct line of sight almost level to the Window of the Eye at the top of Barad-Dûr, making Barad-Dûr most likely around 3,500ft tall or so. Orthanc is only 500ft tall.
  13. Orthanc was about 28 inches tall. Barad-Dûr was said in the survey leak to be about 33 inches tall
  14. That is a cursed thought…watch them use the gigantic Bionicle Sauron you fight in the lego video game lol
  15. I got it but they are probably the worst quality knockoff figures I’ve ever seen. The Witch King helmet piece has extra plastic underneath (they all have it not just an error on one, I got several) and so the entire thing sticks up above the torso really high and looks terrible. Basically just doesn’t go down over the head all the way
  16. I want Last Alliance figs as much as anyone, but there are currently no rumors for any figures aside from Sauron, Sam, Frodo, and some Orcs. Hopefully that has changed since the survey, but I wouldn’t get hopes too high
  17. I would say definitely not black. I think Pearl dark grey would be best, and if not that then plain dark grey
  18. Speaking of dual molding, I really hope we can get a Boromir figure at some point that has dual molded printed arms. It would be the perfect figure
  19. When I say I hope they bring back the Orc hair piece I’m 100% referring to the one with the ears, not the Mohawk one. Although I’m sure they could come up with something similar but dual molded like the Elf hair piece
  20. I think they meant the Orc hairpiece with the ears
  21. Sure but one accurate helmet is still better than none
  22. The problem is they used the Uruk-hai helmet for Orcs. It would have been a lot nicer if they had given Orcs their own style helmet
  23. Honestly I mostly blame the fan base for the failure last time, if poor sales was genuinely the reason the theme was cancelled. They were remarkably well made playsets with fantastic minifigures. I bought every set and have very few nitpicks considering when they were released.
  24. Not necessarily. Plenty of location based playsets out there, it wouldn’t be hard to do for LOTR at all
  25. Honestly Barad-Dûr, Jabba’s Sail Barge, and The Burrow are the only survey sets I would even consider buying so I hope those three at least make it If that big ugly brick built Sorting Hat gets released but not Barad-Dûr, I’ll be livid
