Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Wardancer replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
I agree with Zceberus! I also love the homage to Dexter, especially the hair colour and the box of special tools. -
Nice ballista, I like the sturdy look combined with the tension of the string. Maybe you could cut back the excess string. A real thick rope would not defy gravity like this.

Avalonia Guild: Homepage, Sign-up and Discussion
Wardancer replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in Guilds of Historica
It is a questionable honour, being mentioned by a master of drow. I am indeed an Avalonian at heart and my army bears its colours. Most of it unfortunately is and will be of the custom clan, which cannot make an appearance in matters of the guilt due its rules (which are perfectly reasonable, as they guarantee the coherence that makes the whole guilt thing fun). As soon as I shift my focus towards elven buildings, for which customizing is not necessary, I will become an active Avalonian to defend its sacred forests. Until then, I shall do as Elves always have: Hide in the dark green shadows, gather wisdom about the busy mortals in their ambitious guild endevours, grow as the roots of the sacred oak and shoot a well-aimed arrow every now and then to remind men and orc and drow that something very old is watching them. -
This truly deserves an own thread! As someone who has thought a lot about elves in the last months, I can say: What a great idea! Great built! I like that it does not look too technicy!! Do you have more pictures?

Guilds of Historica Introduction/General Discussion Thread
Wardancer replied to I Scream Clone's topic in Guilds of Historica
Maybe it would make sense to encourage more complex titles for the MOCs as guild contest entries. So we wouldn't have "Avalonia Watch Tower", "Tower watching Avalonia", "Tower that Watches Avalonia", "Avalonia: Tower is watching" "Watch the Tower, Avalonia" "To the tower watch, Avalonia!" "Avalonian Tower Watch" "Avaloian Watch Tower is watching Avalonia" etc. as sort of repetivite titles in the forum. -
@eddiewu I will contact you later, I have to wait for some messages of others who asked first. @posades. I would. How many calendars would you want? Would you need the boxes or can the stuff be sent in the 24 unopened plastic bags? The cardboard box uses a lot of weight and volume, which translates to shipping costs.

I can do that. Give me a few days to think about a format. I am quite new to customizing, so I do not have a lot of matches, but it is worth a shot.

Would it make sense to establish a sort of database, in which customizers could record which paint they used to match the original LEGO colours? Or is there already such a thing? Color matching is surely every customizers problem. I just spend 15 Euro for trying to mix a paint that matches LEGO dark blue. Then it didn't. If someoe had already tried that and recorded it somewhere, I could have saved my money. One could go "Ohh, let's see how others mix reddish brown?" What do you customizers think? Is this too specific a thing? Would it be giving away secrets?

Say, good Sir, and Maker of the Minotaurs, what torso is this on the right and left? It has caught my attention, but I cannot find it on Bricklink. -
Minifig Customization Workshop Contest 2011

Today is the last day, isn't it. Will there be another rules check? Is there anything more we need to do? -
I think you are right. It's dark orange. So no arms for the horntail.
-
Do you think the T-Rex in 5886 has reddish brown arms? Or is it a new colour? If it were, I could get a hungarian horntail dragon and attach the T-Rexes arms.

In the meantime... Those who are interested in the calendars might also be interested in other army building stuff I sell. Here are links to local Ebay (no auction, no auction fees), German, but self explanatory: 9 dragon knights, I'd say 20 Eu for Eurobricks members. http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/s-anzeige/lego-kingdoms-9x-drachenritter-dragon-knights-mit-ausruestung/36889364 Elephant for 14 Euro http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/s-anzeige/lego-elefant-aus-7414/36605018 10 Spartan Helmets for 8 Euro http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/s-anzeige/10-x-lego-spartaner-helm-aus-serie-2/36607214 Custom Spearthrower for 7 Euro: http://kleinanzeigen.ebay.de/anzeigen/s-anzeige/lego-kingdoms-ritter-mit-custom-speerschleuder/36606380 Let me know if some of this interests you, be it with calendar or without.

Minifig Customization Workshop Contest 2011
Wardancer replied to LuxorV's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
I know I can have 5 pictures in my entry. Can I have these 5 in the first posting of the thread and more in a seperate posting in the same thread? Or MUST every exceeding picture be hidden behind a link to e.g. Flickr? -
Ok, I found out prices for Europe: 3,45 Euro up to 500 grams 7 Euro up to 1000 grams At the moment I cannot estimate how heavy the contents of a calender are. There is no insurance included and no tracking system. A package with insurance and tracking is 15 for the Eu. @Rubeus: How many would you want? Would you need the box(es)? @Scuba: Would you need the box?
