  1. Hmm I am sceptical about the minotaur. At first I thought I would want 8. But now with LotR coming I will perhaps save that money. There is something about the minotaur that I do Not like 100 percent. It would be most honorable if some of the early buyers compiled a dot code sheet.
  2. I really like Lady Liberty's hair. The Roman does look a bit naked from the back. Someone give him a cape!
  3. I would like to see Olivia’s Tree House in the Guild's Tower competition. After all, it has a retractable ladder, reconnaissance butterflies, anti-cat bait and a golden anti-cat gun.
  4. Great figs. I envy you for that torso of which there is 1 (one) available on Bricklink.
  5. Very interesting! I didn't know there was such a system. This might be very useful when complete boxes are still available. If this is true then my experience with the 2 vikings was a coincidence. Kids, please don't mix the boxes
  6. My Brickwarriors prize arrived today. If the competition was supposed to catch my interest for BW, I can safely say... it did. The assassin knives are great. I always suscpected them to be a bit too big for my taste, but they are not. I like the detail, especially the rounded knobs at the edges. Sooner or later I hope to have every horse rider I make have one in their saddle. I was never too fond of the fantasy gear, because it was a bit too barbaric/archaic/evil for my elven taste. But the armor looks really good. I will reduce the evilness by cutting of the spikes. They really fill a gap in my plans, I like them better than the golden atlantis armour that I would have used otherwise. So thanks again and keep up enriching us. Edit: Just noticed a rider doesn't fit in a saddle with the armour, but I think I can find a solution to that.
  7. The other day I went through a box of series 4 and found two vikings directly next to each other. This reminded me of another incident in which I found 2 or even 3 elves next to each other. Now I wonder if this is due to coincidential patterns in randomness or if it's maybe due to TLGs packaging methods. Has this ever happened to you? Might this be a thing? If so, it could be useful knowledge for January... [i never came across this is in the CMF threads, feel free to correct me if this is discussed elsewhere.]
  8. I like how they sacrifice cookies to their deity. Cookies make you strong for battle.
  9. Has someone received their Cat 3 prize frpm Birckwarriors already? German post seems to be slow before Christmas.
  10. Indeed. I believed the thing with the Kelloggs box for a few days. I even went googling for Lego on Kelloggs boxes.
  11. I can affirm that the kingdoms calendars are stuffed with extras. I did just notice this when I bought 9 this year for reselling them. It makes them even better for army building.
  12. Does anyone know how big the delay usually is between a release in a lego store and regular stores? I hope the dot decodes will be quick, although I hope to get 6 centaurs and 3 lady libertys, all of which will be easy to feel. .
  13. These look very real because they use the German Bundesadler as logo. I especially like the big ovoid shield with the partial eagle.
  14. There is no not-awkward way to say this, but I'll say it anyway. The nymph has the most beautiful lego breasts I have ever seen.
  15. 3 men in skirts , a lady made from stone, a mechanical man and a guy living in a lamp, looks like a good start for 2012.
  16. I would encourage BF to also use the Stormer pattern for other colour schemes. I could imagine it in many mixtures of browns and tans to make warriors who are less magically oriented but not armoured. If these were to be released one day, I woulg buy many of them. The feathers immediately reminded me of Indians, but they are small enough to not foreground that too much. I'll probably buy two of the white stormers and make a male and a female wizard centaur.
  17. The amazement! The centaurs struck me deeply. Courser was ok, but the new ones are overwhelming, every single one of them! They are so much better than most regular lego horses, I wish they were horses and not centaurs. This is especially true for Stormer.
  18. Interesting that in Category 3 many had purism issues with Tomcat Rios knight at first but then he won by many votes. I thought (maybe hoped...) maybe this might cause him the loss of many votes, which obviously didn't happen. Anyway, great knight!
  19. Also a big "thank you" from me to the sponsors and to LuxorV for organizising this and answering questions patiently. Thanks for all the votes, I am glad that many enjoyed my elf. Since this was the first contest I ever participated in, it was very exciting for me, counting the votes, guessing who will be the best competitors and so on. See you all in CCCIX!
  20. I solved the problem myself. Shields are much too big. There is no way this would look good But I had a better Idea which I need to test after christmas. If someone else is trying to make the barding faction neutral, please share your idea.
  21. Thank you for the idea. I have never tried anything with decals and imagine it kind of complicated with how many DPI to usw and printing in a copyshop and paper sorts and so on. Maybe it's easier than I think, but so far I have not dared it. This would bring many new options. You got me thinking but I'll try the shield idea first.
  22. Hi Everyone, I am making plans for horse regiments and I like the green horse barding because it is cheap and has an elven color but it has these awful dragon shields printed on. This drives me insane and I am looking for a way to cover that without painful paint experiments. Now, I had an idea. Taking a regular triangular shield, cutting off the handle, slim it down a bit with sand paper and glue in on. Repeat 4 times per barding. Even gives a 3d structure and the impression of even more armor. But I cannot judge if such a shield could cover the whole dragon logo. Could someone who owns a dark green horse barding quickly hold a shield against it and tell me how this relates? Does the shield cover the dragon logo fully? Does it overlap significantly? I am talking about the most regular triangular shield. I don't want to order a barding and then find out that this doesn't work. I would be very thankful for this. If this worked, it could be an idea for customizers everywhere, because many shields could be appied for different factions. Think for example of this one on the barding: Or this one:
  23. +1 for scubacarrot +1 for augen
  24. Has there been a comparable case of an elaborate Part in an expensive set that everywhere wants, such as the black horse barding in the joust? I have plans for a regiment which would need 4 of these and I am trying to estimate the costs in bricklink... What do you think? More like 7 Euro or more like 15 per piece?
  25. 2) The Lord of the Rings scene - Elf and Dwarf Warrior Entry (Build by Thor Lund) - 2 points 3) The Mist scene - Skateboarder and Woodcutter Entry (Build by Yatkuu) - 1 points I am very impressed.
