The thin with those kilts is that you can't move their legs, and also, they look to long a too tall. Kilts aren't really down to the ankles.

What gratings?

And I mistook you for a Pirate! Your a fellow Redcoat! Is your Girlfriend happy that you named a military creation in her name? I thought it would be nicer to name a city or something...

I love the Decals! Now those Plums are working out very nicely! EDIT: What Printer do you have that prints off those Decals so finely?
-
Well, I'll try one out but I need to know what you want as the figurehead. Do you want a Busty Woman? A animal or a Crest like the HMS Victory?

Joey's Visit to Portsmouth and Chatham Dockyards

Mabye we could do a Eurobricks visit to Portsmouth! Also, some more information about the Fort Amherst, It has been used for alot of Re-enactments, infact Sean Bean a.k.a. Sharpe, appeared at the Fort in 1995 for a Sharpe event and it was the first time Sean Bean actually visited a Sharpe event. They also do some Dungeons and Dragons events where people dress up as Knights and Monsters and role-play battle in the Forts dark tunnels and such. Ben was telling us how he was doing volunteer work that day, and he got told to dress as a goblin, and he got beaten up by a bunch of knights when he sat down to have a rest in the sun! -
Joey's Visit to Portsmouth and Chatham Dockyards

You can't use flash to take pictures off er...I think it was something to do with the Ammo room. Some bloke warned us before entering, but we didn't use flash much anyway, thats why the pictures were not so good. I think it was more of a personal visit to the Victory, rather than taking pictures and not enjoying. One of the annoying things was that you can't exactly stop off and take close up pictures of the Cabin and such, Because its sort of a tour, you have to kinda keep moving because lots of people walk round the ship. You start off on the Left entrance, go up until you get to the Top deck, then your free to do what you want, but then you go down again all the way to the hold, then up and out of the left side. Heres some pictures I took: The elaborate entrance. The guns! The Quarterdeck. Marines uniform, Man I wanted to put on the Marines hat but you can't touch... -
Me and my dad went to portsmouth, about 2 weeks ago. And then the next day we went to Chatham Dockyards, where the HMS Victory was originally built. And since everyone is making a visit thread, I thought I'd have a go! Anywho, We visited the HMS Victory, HMS Warrior, HMS Gannet. First off, I have to say. British Weather wasn't very merciful on the day, so its very cloudy. The extremely big shame of the day was they were repairing the Stern so I couldn't see it. Anywho: There she is! What a beauty! Im under the Lamp Post, With the big hair, It was windy. I can't show any more pictures. It was under construction and such. Also it was very dark inside. We couldn't go on the Marines walk, we couldn't go on the Poop Deck, We couldn't see the stern, we couldn't see the figurehead. It was a bad day to go to the Victory. But heres some images of the other ships. The HMS Warrior, She was the largest, fastest, most heavily-armed and most heavily-armoured warship the world had ever seen. View from the Gangway. Me by the Gigantic Swivel gun. The amazing armament of the ship! The hundreds and hundreds of Muskets that were on the ship. The Ammo Room. Amazing. The quite plain but luxurious Great Cabin. We then went to Chatham the day after: My dad standing next to the enormous swivel gun. The Giant HMS Victory Model! Chatham wasn't really a main Dockyard anymore. Most ships that were built there such as the Victory, Formidable (sound familiar?), Unicorn (Its real). But once we left Chatham, we saw a entrance to a Fort along the road. Im glad we did, It was the most amazing Fort ever! It was Fort Amherst, Europe's Largest Surviving Napoleonic Fortress. It was a shame that we couldn't take pictures cause my Digital Camera (I used for MOC's) broke, so we had to use my phone camera. Gun in the main hall. The top of the Gigantic Fort, That is our very friendly tour guide, Ben to the right. His phone rang about 3 times whislt in the fort and eventually he said "Im very sorry, Can I please take this? My Girlfriends gonna kill me". I am definitely going back to the Fort and I will visit the HMS Victory on sunny, working day, so most people will be at work rather than visiting the ship.

I didn't realise the Droids had a merciless nature. I thought they just move on fowards and take Clones prisoner! But Im guessing the Black Droids are not military personel, More like Hired bounty hunter droids. I like the Tiara blood!

Well if you think about it. Just look at the 2009 Sets compared to the Old sets. Eldorado Fortress has a really nice name "Eldorado", Very Spanish. And look at the Soldier's fort. Boring. And look at the construction, In the 80's and 90's there sets were thoroughly designed and looked good. They had little grates to place your treasure in, they had doors and such. You look at the new Fort, It has a Prison that has a random breakable wall, a stick of Dynamite, and dynamite wasn't invented till 1867 and they would have Steam metal ships by then. And the Soldiers Fort isn't even big. Im guessing that Eldorado Fortress was around $50 which is like £30 when it was realeased, And the Soldiers fort is £36, So your paying more for a smaller, more useless set, compared to the Eldorado Fortress. In the old days they made sets worth the money, made historical uniforms and such. Nowheredays they made the Shako decals to please our community, but they haven't really made any other historically accurate stuff...So anyway. No, Lego don't pinpoint the Historical Factor. They leave that up to us to create. They just make some Lego sets and for some reason everyone buys it and Lego think they are making a really good set, so they produce more sets of the same poor quality and think they can get away with it! Thats my verdict.

We should have some sort of Alert that warns you when you type a word that has already been posted in a topic within 2 days. That would help.

I don't know why you, a fellow Redcoat Army would want to destroy a much stronger Redcoat army...I mean thats just suicide. :pir-skull:

But your Dutch. We have no need to copy such useless ship designs that burn to easily. Anyway, Do the French actually have any ships left standing from the Napoleonic Era? You hear of Dutch VOC ships, HMS Victory, HMS Unicorn, HMS Trincomalee and such that are still intact. But you never hear of any French ships left standing. So mabye its got something to do with the poor design. We just cleaned it up a bit.

Since Disney is buying Marvel, And theirs a new Disney sets being realeased...Could there be a chance for some new Spiderman and Marvel sets? It could compete with Lego Batman. What do you think?

Tips to be taken into consideration
Joey Lock replied to pesgores's topic in General LEGO Discussion
That is a good tips but Brikwars wouldn't work if you just collect City, Cause City doesn't contain weapons. -
And Im stealing it from the French. Just like I do with their treasure.

Touché. :pir-skull:

Sorry, I missed this thread. Welcome to Eurobricks! So ye from the UK too are you? I live in Surrey. Near the new James Mays Lego House construction site.
-
Does that really matter? As long as you tile over it, theres no need to waste perfectly good bricks!
-
Well, I don't really "collect" Lego sets, In fact the last lego set I got was a bunch of Cannon Battles. I don't buy lego sets, I just buy lego bricks. Im more of a MOC man myself. Since I just squandered £360 on bricks for my HMS Unicorn MOC. But with the HMS Unicorn, although its delicate, I shall still play with it. But I think the thing with Lego Sets playability compared to MOCs is Lego Sets are meant to be played with, their built very lightly and don't have much detail because its about the playing. But when people create MOC's they make them extremely detailed just to show them to the world. Im proberbly just talking to myself now. But I still play with my Lego. Im not just buying for the sake of a shelf space. I buy for the sake of my enjoyment. If that makes sense.

Right now? Reise Reise - Rammstein! "Reise, Reise Seemann Reise Jeder tut's auf seine Weise Der eine stößt den Speer zum Mann Der andere zum Fische dann" English Lyrics: "Arise, arise seaman arise Each does it in his own way One thrusts the spear into a man Another then into the fish"
