  1. Well, this isn't an Ideas set - it's a Dimensions pack, and we know from Marty's hoverboard that those can have new molds. So they make the mold for this, and that way it doesn't count as a "new" mold for use in the Ideas set. Sneaky!
  2. Well, I should clarify that I expect official reveals by SDCC at the latest, so the more optimistic answer is "sometime between now and then." They may even release official pictures of TBBT and/or WALL-E at the same time as they announce the latest review results.
  3. The current review just began a few days ago; there was never any guarantee that the previous review would be done by now. As for the three upcoming sets, release is still a few months away, so official reveals may not come until SDCC.
  4. Yeah, Power Functions are a damned-if-you-do-damned-if-you-don't kind of feature. You either don't include them, so the people that want them have to buy them separately, or you do include them, so the people that don't want them have to pay extra for a feature they won't use. But I suspect that, like the Mixer, this will also be sold in a bundle with PF on S@H.
  5. It's not exactly a new development - everything except modulars and world buildings like the Sydney Opera House have been done on plates rather than baseplates for several years now. The baseplate is one of the basic rules of what makes a modular a modular; it's not going away. If anything, the modular building line has helped breathe new life into baseplate production by introducing several new colors.
  6. By gum, that's just crazy enough to work!
  7. 6x6. Also, I think I spot a few rare torso prints in here, like the dolphin shirt from the Juniors Beach Trip!
  8. ...kinda want to see that happen now. That or a zeppelin!
  9. I know I'm super late to the party on this, but I just built the Quinjet and hadn't read any reviews of it (or even looked all that closely at the back of the box), so the feature where Widow pops out from under the wing surprised me and I was childishly delighted by it. Might be my favorite set of the wave.
  10. The main tenet of my Code is that LEGO money is kept separate from my regular income and expenses. While the money I earn from my jobs goes to rent, bills, food, savings - all of which I track religiously - any extra money (from working one-off side jobs, playing gigs, or anything I get as a gift) goes into a jar. Anything I don't need has to be paid for out of that jar. There are other stipulations I impose on myself, rules I occasionally bend or break, but that one big rule is nonnegotiable and keeps me honest.
  11. Probably like the mixer - hand crank, but with the option to add power functions.
  12. Ten figures. The calendar is beginning to show up at some stores; should be everywhere by the end of the week.
  13. 2464 pieces, $199.99 USD.
  14. I'm sure they'll turn up soon.
  15. $199.99. And it has twelve cars.
  16. ^I'd say in the same general ballpark as the Mini.
  17. Simon looks like his skin is Medium Nougat. Aanchir, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong there. I am really loving the more diverse array of minifigures available in this line.
  18. I would definitely buy it. His Oscar statue would probably sell better but Yellow would be a very nice piece to sell at art museum gift shops, and Ideas is all about tapping new markets.
  19. Reasons I don't think there will be a set next year: I've been very diligently trying to track down any information on the subject, and aside from one guy with no track record whatsoever claiming we'll get Android's Dungeon, I've got nothing. The first series of Simpsons Minifigures sold well (in the top ten for 2014), but they also hung around way longer than most other series, and I could see why TLG might want to take a break from them to make room for other series. Reasons I still think there could be an Android's Dungeon: Absence of evidence is not evidence of absence (the perennial war cry of the naïve and overly optimistic, I know). Several of the prints and molds they would need are already in production - there are now four different comic book tiles, and only a few more would be needed to at least give the impression of a well-stocked store. The second series of Minifigures brings us Comic Book Guy and Martin Prince, both of whom would be reused for the set. (Martin might seem like a left-field choice, but the episode "Three Men and a Comic Book," which first introduced both Comic Book Guy and the Android's Dungeon and revolved around the Radioactive Man book that we already have in LEGO form, featured Martin as part of the titular trio, so I could see his inclusion as a callback to that episode.) Last and almost certainly least, next year marks the 25th anniversary of that episode, just like last year was the 25th anniversary of the series premiere and this year is the 25th anniversary of the Kwik-E-Mart's first appearance.
  20. ... The weather? Local sports teams? Wait, SDCC is in a couple months, along with the requisite exclusives! Those are always good for a few dozen pages' worth of mature, rational discussion, right?
  21. I can't really see the power plant happening since it consists of multiple buildings spread out over a lot of space, and the cooling towers would take up a huge percentage of the build without really adding anything in terms of interior or playability. But to add to the list, Krusty Burger is a definite possibility. I could see it having a new variant for Abe and an exclusive Squeaky-Voiced Teen!
  22. They also reveal some of the next year's wide-release sets - Wookiee Gunship and Green Lantern vs. Sinestro were both officially revealed at last year's SDCC.
  23. Whaaaaaaat that would be amazing
