  1. Well, it can be an interesting discussion, right? Plus, it's a definite proof we're not manchildren I'm working as a translator for an insurance company. Sometimes I'm just negotiating stuff with corporate clients, but my favourite part is to go actually help people who are stuck/ran into issues abroad. It makes you feel like you're actually doing something good! Plus, in two weeks I'll be "touring" these in Greece, that'd be an interesting change of pace from broken legs in the Caucasus or fraud issues in Romania..
  2. I've been feeling nostalgic recently...
  3. Of course I'm buying Lego stuff, but recently I've gotten into tabletop wargames and bought enough Cold War tanks and infantry to make some African countries jealous lol. Well, if you don't take into account that they're 1:100 of the real deal, though...
  4. Nice job with these! By the way, medieval sets are one of my children's favourites -I'm more of a sci fi/military guy- but I should get around to take pictures of the shields they designed : we got a bunch of blank ones, some brushes and model paints, and I let their fantasies run wild to create coats of arms for the different families in their castle, and I'm positively surprised by the accuracy and imagination they had when doing these ; I knew they were smart, but they outdid themselves. (Is that true, or is that parental pride talking? )
  5. Haha, Wild West Lego sets are an all-time hit with my kids! I remember having a gold mine with a cart on rails something like 15-20 years ago, but it always was behind Star Wars kits for me... but for some reason, my eldest son digs Western thematics more than anything, so I've rediscovered that now! By the way, are those designs from "original" Lego kits or your own creations? In both cases, they're awesome.
  6. What, they'll reissue updated designs from the first trilogy? Count me in! In fact, I might even buy doubles for some of them... My fondest Lego memory is building the X-Wing the very evening after buying it when it hit the shelves in Belgium, so I'm more than eager to relive that and share it with my children.
  7. Hi, I'm Flagon_15 from Belgium and have joined this forum to discuss Lego with you. I'm 37, have two kids, but never "grew out" of Lego ; it was awkward twelve years ago, but now that I play it with my son (10) and daughter (7), it has become socially acceptable, which I'm very satisfied with I used to have many different kits over the 30-year span of my addiction, but the ones I liked the most were the Star Wars ones from the 90s and early 2000s. Now, I mostly do medieval and Wild West settings (buildings, accessories, characters) with my kids, and Cold War-related themed things for myself - Checkpoint Charlie, T-54 tanks, F-104 planes, the Vostok space capsule, you name it. As far as the size of my Lego collection goes, I don't know since most kits were broken up and the plans lost (a crime, I know... but I like it this way, it's more imaginative) but I've been counting it in kilograms for decades now. And that's all for now, have a nice weekend!
