My entry for the raffle: 'Happy Christmas Jabba.....I saw this in Cloud City and thought of you' 'Thank you Boba, it's just what I always wanted!' Merry Christmas everyone

You're welcome, I hope that it helps The US Bricklink stores seem to be very reasonable but if you import into the UK you're liable to lots of additional charges if the total is above approx £15 (VAT @ 20% which is added to the item & postage cost + a 'handling fee' from the Post Office of about £9) so it can get really expensive! I wanted to build a Star Destroyer (10030) after my Death Star II and did get about 1,500 parts for it, but recently gave up.....some of the parts were impossible to get or really expensive. Perhaps one day Lego will make another UCS version of it

Hi, I was stupid enough to Bricklink a UCS Death Star II (10143) from scratch, which was 3,500 pieces (link here!) and agree with Bob's suggestions. I copied the inventory into Excel & managed my orders from there, although there are other methods that can be used. However, by doing this I only ordered 2-3 too many!! To be honest it did get rather stressful & I became quitely obsessed (especially trying to track down the last few parts ). However, it was great to see it finally come together & kept me occupied for countless hours! I strongly recommend finding a few local sellers that have a large stock and order everything you can from them, even if the part price may be marginally more expensive than elsewhere.....I found that shipping from outside the EU was prohibitive; try to minimise the total number of orders as the postage really adds up. If you need 200 parts of one type don't only look for sellers with 200+ available; I often ended up ordering 50 from one seller & 150 from another and these were parts of much larger orders (i.e. it's the total cost + postage that matters not necessary the individual part cost) Good luck!

Thanks CopMike for running this again, it was great fun last year. Please count me in!!

Tesco direct has 9494: Anakin's Interceptor for £25 (link here) which is the cheapest that I've seen it. Cheers, Robin

Hi, I have 10 x new & sealed Uruk Hai with ballista (30211) from today's Sun promo. I would accept £20, via Paypal 'gift', plus shipping at cost anywhere, that's a bargain price of £2 each!! Alternatively, I would be interested in a direct trade with other new SW polybags: Stormtrooper Clone Troopers TC-14 Cheers, Robin

I'll be quite happy provided that Episodes vii - ix aren't cartoons and actually have real, live, actors in them!! I can't stand any of the current CW stuff (I did try once for 5 minutes, never again!) Disney have produced a few quality films in their time so it could be a good thing.....time will tell. If not I'll just watch the OT a few hundred more times. Actually, perhaps there's a chance the remnants of the Empire might finally be able to exact some revenge on the ewoks, now that would be worth watching

Amazon (UK) have Helm's deep (9474) for £69.99 again (link here), Ork Forge (9476) for £32.00 (link here) and Mines of Moria (9473) for £56.00 (link here)

Great stuff Walter; SW Lego, lots of nice details & LEDs...life doesn't get much better! I was tempted to do this for the CB, so it's good to see that you've done a classic scene justice.

[MOC] Yet another Super Star Destroyer Executor...
Lobot replied to Bob De Quatre's topic in LEGO Star Wars
This is starting to look really promising Bob, keep up the good work I've just built the official Lego version (again) and yours looks better already! Perhaps that's not totally fair, I just really hate the removable 'bridge'.....a totally pointless feature -
Post your general LEGO Star Wars questions here
Lobot replied to XimenaPaulina's topic in LEGO Star Wars
The parts list is available on Bricklink (link here). I debated it for a while but there are lots of parts required in small numbers, so you'll probably annoy a lot of sellers if you're starting from scratch! Also, these seemed very rare.....bordering on 'hens teeth' territory (link here). I really wouldn't recommend it unless you're really brave.....have you thought about the Death Star II instead? -
Amazon (UK) have 7965 Millennium Falcon for £79.99, which is the cheapest I've ever seen it!! Total bargain at that price (link here)
-
Confirmation that the Sun promo will start this Saturday (link here) but no details of what's on offer Free Lego & more cheap paper for my composting bin, life doesn't get much better!

My order arrived today (I just love Amazon!). Overall, I'm really impressed by the set, and I don't regret buying it. There are several really nice little touches; the panelling on the door, Han's 'sleepy' expression, and Jabba's throne. Boushh is just beautiful, no other way to descibe her  However, I'm still not too sure about the Gammorean Guard....it's just not Lego somehow but perhaps he'll grow on me eventually! Is it worth the full price? No, but at 25% off it's getting there! I just wish that it was a 1,000+ part set, as it's all a bit too cramped for me. I would have been happy to paid for a larger set & I don't think that I'm in the minority on that one.
-
Meh!....the only interesting set is the Rancor pit I just hope that Lego has a stunning UCS hidden away for next year, or possibly a new Cloud City (sigh)

I finally caved and ordered Jabba's Palace (9516) last night from Amazon (UK). It's currently available for £89.39 which is the cheapest I've see it (Link here) I hoping it's worth it, even at that price it seems expensive!
-
This is starting to look really promising ACPIn (and substantial!) I'm really pleased that you've decided to do this, I'm sure that you'll do it justice Are you going to tile the floor/platform?
-
Amazon (UK) have 9516 Jabba's Palace @ £89.39, which is the cheapest I've seen it: http://www.amazon.co...50489850&sr=1-2 As usual with Amazon you might need to be quick!

No, you're fine with anything inside the EU

Although this has been mentioned on other parts of EB, I thought it was worth adding a post here: Marshal Banana's superb UCS Sandcrawler has reached the required 10,000 votes! (link here) Congratulations MB, I really hope that a version of this will be put in production....it's time to start saving!

Purchases below about £17 aren't taxed, but anything above that will get very expensive For some reason they also include the cost of the postage in the tax calculation (i.e. item = £20 + £10 shipping = liability of tax based on £30!). If I remember correctly it's calculated at the VAT rate (20%); the Post Office will also add a further 'admin' type fee on top of everything which was £7-£8 for me, but I don't know how they worked that out! I only purchased one expensive item from the US, never again!

Boots.com have several Lego sets included in their 'Mix & Match' offer (buy three & get the cheapest free) - look out for the green parcel symbol!

I finally tracked down a MISB 7263 TIE Fighter (including Darth with a light-up lightsaber ) for a bargain price of £38 including P&P. I also got another 9490 Droid Escape from Amazon for £12.69. Not an amazing set, but well worth that price.
