CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Captain Zuloo replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Er - There was a croc? I didn't see it. Just stick with the one you have now. -
And the BSB goes to... DNL, this is just why there is no point entering with the hope of prizes. You greedy bugger! This MOC is nothing short of outstanding and I would love to see it in person to examine all of the intricate details closely. Keep up the great work (exept in comps I'm also entering) and Good Luck! Not that you need it.

There are alot. There was a map of the world on the Port Block site, but it seems to have been removed. And if you didn't get it before, the answer to the joke was "Bloxford"

CONTEST-LARGE! Jungle Cage! Dis is da place ye don't want
Captain Zuloo replied to Lego12's topic in Pirate MOCs
I agree. Rocks are different shades, and their is only so much you can do with little plastic bricks. I look foward to tomorrow. -
Well I once heard a joke: Q: Where do smart minifigs go for an education? A: I'm sure you can work out a LEGOish name for one of the most famous universities of all time...
-
That's quite alright, but from what I have heard I wouldn't bother.
-
Well sort of. We were kind of looking more for a breif entertaining ficticious story though. And what do you mean by "appeared in one of my films"?

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions

Well, then I suppose you are in no danger of being disqualified. BTW, I like your new avatar heaps better than the old one. Don't change it back! -
CONTEST-LARGE! Jungle Cage! Dis is da place ye don't want
Captain Zuloo replied to Lego12's topic in Pirate MOCs
Euch! Gruesome alright! I like the bloke burning the "evidence" behind the cage, and I love the cannon smoke. Very imganative. Now for the bad: I don't like the bi-plane. It is out of period so far it would probably get you disqualified! The dinosaur tails (I think) that are stuck in the trees look very unrealistic. I would remove them and replace them with green whip pieces (not the new Indiana Jones curly one either) I think that you went from one extreme to another. I said there was too little folage, and now it looks like Buckingham Palace Gardens! Waaaaay too colourful (yeah that's how us Aussies spell it - the right way) I think you need to think green a little more. It's a jungle, not a botanicle garden. But none of these comments mean it is a bad MOC, as you are doing a fine job and I wish you the best of luck for the competition! -
CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Captain Zuloo replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
To 800x600 mind you. Many people have seemed to ignore this and posted images in full size: not good for dial-up. -
Yeah. I havn't actually read it myself, but I have heard the movie is the way to read the story!
-
That's very interesting and - scary! According to Claus von Nassau, Captain Green Hair attacked and looted his ship off of Cape Brickhope.
-
I think your'e a bit of a dope then. Even more than phred! This is an incredibly simple plot to understand. You're just not very smart!
-
Captain Green Hair is a menace isn't he! My vote is we throw him overboard. And Zorro, are all those translations accurate? Because that is very interesting where you got your name from.
-
I like it. Simple, but well thought out and effective. Improvement though, would be to replace the blu on the gangplank with black, grey, or even better, tan. I hope this helps. Good luck! EDIT: I just noticed that you have made use of an elastic band - It needs to go as it is non lego and is not allowed otherwise that clever entry will be disqualified. And I can see no way how you could have attached the parrot to the shoulder without non-lego assistance, which will also kill your chances. Sorry, but I'm helping you a lot here.

For version 2.0, I recommend only making her a 2 gun deck ship with a top deck with cannons if that makes sense. I look foward to seeing the new photos!

Hey! I thought it might be interesting to hear the stories of all of our sigfigs, where they come from etc. So without further ado, Captain Zuloo Sometimes known as the "Phes Hunter" or the "Pirate Swamper" or more uncommonly, "Lord Admiral Wannabe", Captain Zuloo is the commander of the Brickish 22-gun frigate, HMS Grandeur. He was born at sea while his poor widowed mother was being forced off of the edge of a plank into shark infested waters by pirates. No-one however noticed him drop down and grab hold of the underside of the plank until the victim had fallen. He then found a hiding spot under a bag of spare shakos and hid there until the ship reached England where he realised the profits the shakos could make for him. So he grabbed the bag and jumped over the side of the ship onto the bustling docks where he made a vow to hunt down any minifig who called himself pirate to avenge his mother. After a lengthy walk, he found the Garrison, and offered the shakos for a position as captain of a ship to the admiral, where he was officially given the Grandeur to do with as he pleased. Ever since, he has been trying to track down the likes of the infamous Mister Phes, ImperialShadows, pickle phred and Captain Green Hair. During his long voyages he has been making brickfilms starring in a few himself. Now a famous director and film star, Captain Zuloo visits Classic-Pirates.com reguarly to grab what news he can of his counterparts. Now what's your story...

Now that's better! That looks tonnes more appealing! Great job.

BrickArms Pirate Accessory Prototypes
Captain Zuloo replied to the enigma that is badger's topic in Pirate MOCs
Yeah, but unavoidably on your part, it still looks a little large and sluggish. On a real musket, the bayonet is long and skinny, but on the LEGO on, the bayonet is a bit fat. Not to say it is a bad design, just an unavoidable point. -
Did you know, Master and Comander is based on a series of books. The Far Side of The World was the title of one book, although the movie was based on many of the books.
-
Ah true. So true. But the Armada was at the end of the pirate line and that was when the sets were terrible. Or pretty bad to say the least, so I'm not suprised that the best they got was a little dock - if you could call it that.

CONTEST: Pillage the Village - Terms & Conditions
Captain Zuloo replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Like I said, I think it will be unless some particularly grumpy pirates ransacked ImperialShadows' ship. -
You have been sentenced to death by immurement !
Captain Zuloo replied to Zorro's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well maybe you could have him with one leg a bit in the air as though the stone is really heavy? If that doesn't make sense then try it out and see for yourself. -
Yes there is. The Captain Redbeard torso, but with yellow arms.

The biggest Prize Pool in AFOL fansite history?
Captain Zuloo replied to Mister Phes's topic in Pirate MOCs
Why, Phes, does this not suprise me...
