  1. The locations and overall look are amazing ! My favorite is definitely Dagobah, extremely organic, the trans-green tiles work really well and Yoda's hutt... wow ! In my humble opinion, Hoth looks a bit empty, even with the probe droid (and what I assume is Ben's hologram ?). Echo base itself is really well rendered but a T-47 with some orange parts would really light everything up. Maybe even add a Star Destroyer hovering it ? On the other side, Bespin and the cloud car are nothing short of perfect, however the clouds feel a bit "cartoony" to me. Really just my 2 cents on possible improvements to a really well done MOC :) Congrats !
  2. Agreed, it would also make it easier to find advices on the hardest MOCs. I'm pretty sure Cavegod's Sandcrawler and Mortesv's Nebulon B could be pinned in this subforum
  3. Damn I almost bought the wheels in LBG and decided to go with white, as it was more consistent with the movie and what Kit originally used, but the LBG definitely seems to work very well too !
  4. Sure thing ! I'm definitely waiting for the instructions for your B-Project ! (and I have no idea where I will display it, it looks massive ) Thanks for your feedback about the cockpit, it is good to know that it was not something wrong with my build. It really is not visible unless your know it's there. After a few days I think I will just leave it just the way it is !
  5. One or two X-Wings flying off Yavin toward the death star would really be icing on the cake for this one :)
  6. I will be watching Bricks & Pieces very closely for this one, you never have enough of this bad boy.
  7. Finally done with it, lighting kit included and all. I just can't remember where I stored the custom tile, but it must have been some place very smart Anyway, very enjoyable build, I would be hard pressed to point out any step or assembly that would not be on par with an official Lego set, and the instructions are nothing short of amazing. Connecting the wings was maybe the most difficult part, and it was still pretty easy. My only regret is that the cockpit canopy does not stay perfectly vertical, there is a small opening on top. The hinge plate I used is probably a bit too loose/old/tired for the job ? Did anyone have the same issue ? I might come back to it and add some kind of locking mechanism on top under the hatch, but it's really a small detail.
  8. 18% here, so far the white wheels are the most troublesome to get in quantity. I got 9 out of 11, getting close
  9. Note that the top should work almost as well as the bottom :)
  10. So far the worse I had was one or two cracked pieces and some really dirty ones, but overall great experience. If you are new to bricklink, try above all to reduce the number of different sellers you buy to : shipping handling is the real cost of all this, no point in saving a few cents on a piece if you are going to pay over 30% of S&H
  11. If memory serves you can upload a LDD file directly on bricklink.
  12. Got the 20th anniversary Slave I for may the 4th. Aside from the Hoth diorama and the naboo fighter polybag, my Lego Store was also giving away the Kessel Mine Worker. Not the most exciting minifig but I didn't have it yet so... nice :) Also just got 8 planet Series (9674-75-76-77-78 75006-007-008) on eBay for 64€ shipping included, a deal I'm quite happy with, those little things are really growing on me, much better display value than I expected in the first place.
  13. Point taken :) There's still no way this could have included a retro minifig.
  14. Yes and no, there are 20th anniversary polybags and they don't include a minifig, retro or not, and the darth vader bust also has the 20th anniversary packaging and 0 minifig. I'm the devil's advocate here, because I understand your logic. But from TLG point of view, those are promotional sets, not the 5-sets wave which was released simultaneously with 5 of the most iconic characters of the OT. As someone who did purchase those five sets, I would actually be a bit angry to see a 6th collector retro-minifig released a month later out of the blue in a promotional set. Anyway, this could just be TLG making sure they still maintain some sens of diversity/creativity/surprise : not everyone would be happy to have a minifig exclusive every single may the fourth, every year, and it's not like this Hoth set is a complete joke.
  15. Can someone confirm the exact length of the MOC ? I got a 130cm shelf and I wonder if it would be enough to hold it ?
  16. Well, now you know how europeans feel when they need to buy pieces in the US
  17. Excellent ! The forced perspective on Part 12 is awesome :)
  18. In the case of the Tantive IV, yes ! For UCS sets, there is room for debate.
  19. I would really like to know what leads to Lego ruling for stickers or printed bricks as I agree it is a shame that a collector's item, which main purpose is to last, has to be afflicted with stickers. However I can understand that printing the two huge cones on the Tantive IV might be a challenge compared to some brickheadz eyes. Personally, every UCS I own had its stickers replaced with printed bricks from https://www.steindrucker.com. Of course, it makes it even more expensive, but, you know
