Mature Themes We'd Like to See (discussion, rumour, wishful thinking)
legoSDR replied to legoSDR's topic in LEGO Licensed
Yeah I agree ST is unique in that respect. But I definitely think this will open doors for more mature content. I'll never hold my breath for GoT but it's nice to talk about what they could do didn't know they were reviewing the Office, that's quite exciting -
thanks! Wormtail should've had a ginger mullet or the TFA Luke hair in ginger

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation
legoSDR replied to Sir Gareth's topic in LEGO Licensed
Anyone else want the Beauxbaton set from HP so they can have a pegasus for Valkyrie? -
does anyone know when these new sets are being released? not sure if it's been said already

This is a theme inspired by LEGO's decision to create Stranger Things LEGO which is probably their most mature (age-wise) theme ever! This topic is for discussing what other more AFOL/adult oriented themes you wish/hope/want LEGO will make. We can also share any customs/MOCs based on more mature themes that we think would make great sets, like Game of Thrones or the Marvel Netflix shows. Or any TV and movies. This is more specifically geared toward ideas based on shows and movies that are rated TV-14/PG-13/15(UK)/R-Rated and above

True OW wasn't in its prime when the sets released, but it was in its prime when they started trying to get the licensing for it Anything mature that LEGO might introduce would probably need to be in its prime now or in the last two years. Or of course be iconic enough so that its release date/prime doesn't matter (for example the Friends ideas set) I wouldn't be surprised to see something related to Brooklyn Nine-Nine in the near future. Also I imagine the criteria is quite strict, so the potential theme would need to have some sort of iconic value or potential for play features. Even though shows like Riverdale and Sabrina are really popular, I doubt we'd get sets for them because there's no playability and nothing iconic about much of the scenery. Things like The Office, Agents of Shield or Umbrella Academy have a big enough following and potential appeal to be considered

So you're saying LEGO The Walking Dead confirmed!? But seriously I hadn't thought that TWD was watched by a younger audience but it is. Maybe a TWD theme in the next few years wouldn't be such a crazy idea. The only difference is that TWD's viewership is going way down while ST is still in its prime. More likely TV show themes are the DC TV shows like Arrow, Flash, Gotham etc. Maybe Netflix's Umbrella Academy?

I would love to see Lost sets/figures. I'm not sure about American TV ag ratings, what else comes under TV-14? Pretty sure it's not true, the next CMF is apparently going to be a traditional non-licensed wave

would it be worth setting up a new thread for discussing what adult themes we'd love to see? It can include rumours etc about existing themes but primarily just a thread about the sort of themes and sets we'd love to see from LEGO targeted at AFOLs and focused on mature themes. I know I'd have a lot to talk about/customs to show relating to adult themes. And I'd love to hear/see other people's ideas too. Or of course if such a thread already exists please send me a link Thoughts?

Future Marvel Superheroes Rumors & Speculation

I love this idea. It would be great for LEGO to consider -
Sorry this might already be covered somewhere on this thread, but does anyone know the UK release date of the new Harry Potter sets?

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion
legoSDR replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Licensed
I'm sure everyone has noticed that the new Captain America Helmet has a small hole in the top like some of the LEGO Friends hairpieces. Does anyone think this might be reused in red with a piece to stick in the top for a flight mode version of Captain Marvel? Or maybe even in green for her original suit in her movie If there was ever going to be a bricktober pack or sixth Endgame set I wouldn't mind seeing something like that -

I know what you mean but again I have to mention the Desert Knightmare Batman which was both exclusive and a damn nice fig. They could have easily made a figure like that harder to come by. So it's not unheard of. Spider-Man is as popular as Batman, and it looks like the MCU is making him the new poster boy, so why wouldn't LEGO make as many variations of him as possible? As for it being a cheaper alternative to the sets you have to remember that LEGO doesn't make the sets based on people only wanting the figures. Of course they try to make the figs as appealing as possible but the main goal is that they make a set which people of all ages will love to build and play with. I'm not getting my hopes up because I know how unreliable leaks can be, however I don't think it's impossible at all I know what you mean. but check my response above for my way of explaining it I'm not so sure I agree about Maria's torso being exclusive but it would be nice if it is. I hope the pack is real but I won't hold my breath -
Just saw this! Very sneaky of them

I get what you mean, but given the choice between the Finn afro hair and newly designed bandanna, I prefer that they went with the bandanna. At least it represents the character more than generic hair. In a perfect world they would have made a new mould, but also in a perfect world they would make LEGO sets for every single film/TV show I love

I'd love to see displays of the major Houses from Game of Thrones, also I'd love to see something from the early days of the Walking Dead. But both of those are way too mature for LEGO to ever consider Maybe something from the Marvel Netflix shows? But again that's not too likely considering they've all been cancelled Chances are they'll only branch out to mature films/shows that have themes that suit a younger audience. So anything with minimal swearing/gore/sex/drugs

The Flash MM head had both eyes the same size but Spidey seems to have one narrowed. Also Flash's mouth and Spidey's mouth look to be different sizes. But the image quality is bad so you could be right. But I'm hopeful it's a real pack Also I'm pretty sure the Desert Knightmare pack was leaked -
I completely agree, it looks like they might have a closed and open variant of the demogorgon's head, which would be pretty cool

Marvel Superheroes 2019 - Rumours, Speculation & Discussion

This is so messed up. One thing that bugs me about LEGO is the fluctuation of value for figs and sets based on how much people want it. Both those suits were pretty wide release and not particularly hard to come by even after they were discontinued. So the increase in price now is just sad Not been debunked yet as far as I know. I agree that it LOOKS fake but I don't believe it is. It kind of fits a theme with the pack we've had in the past. It's got two figs which are made almsot entirely of older pieces (just like the Parademons in the Desert Knightmare pack) and one exclusive fig (like the Desert Knightmare Batman fig). Plus a moderately related build(s). This time the build is a drone and museum artifacts which makes sense considering they're on a school trip across Europe and Maria Hill is "following" Peter, they'd be visiting those kinds of attractions as a class and could get caught up in an ambush. Or maybe the drone is Peter being followed by Shield. I think the pack looks fake because Ned and Maria's parts could've been made by any customiser, but I believe it's real -

no, I won't get my hopes up -
I can understand the hate, even if I personally love it. A big portion of the piece count went on the trees and car when they could have been used to make a bigger house. But the trees are needed to make the house reversable figures are spot on though
