That's definitely one of the best playset sized Ebon Hawk's I've ever seen. Are there any more images of the interior?

They have playsets of Star Destroyers. I would have loved something like that as a kid with this ship. Just something that could fit a few droids and some Jedi in hiding. But it probably is the scale and also they tend to just make OT ships.

I am actually surprised Lego has not made an official set for this ship. It is so iconic, and you captured it really well. It'd be cool to include Qui-gon and Obi-wan and places to hide them in the ships.

Looks really good. For some reason my favorite part is the wedge plates on the wings, connected with what I assume is a mixel joint? Gives it some interesting shaping that's hard to achieve at this scale. When you mentioned you were using those new round pieces for the engines on my TIE Fighter post I was a bit confused since the Razor Crest is gigantic compared to a TIE Fighter, but it makes total sense for midi scale.

That is one of the unfortunate things about Rebels. Not many people cared about it when it was airing because it was on Disney XD plus the visual fidelity was downgraded relative to The Clone Wars. There were only a handful of sets made for Rebels, and some figures only appeared once, so getting the characters you want (especially now via the aftermarket) was/is not cheap. Fortunately, I did pick up the Ghost, Phantom I and II, TIE Advanced Prototype, Vader's TIE Advanced & A-Wing, Phoenix Home (Combat Frigate), Gozanti (Imperial Assault Carrier) and Rex's AT-TE. The only one I really regret not getting is the AT-DP, but luckily that only had one exclusive minifig.

This is so much better than the official set. I was extremely disappointed it didn’t have an interior like the Millennium Falcon playsets. I might have to give this a try in the future. I definitely don’t have the space for a minifig scale Ghost and this looks as good as a UCS but much smaller.

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter
DarthMario replied to DarthMario's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I am really happy to have this resolved. I agree about what you said regarding Swan Dutchman, some of the MOCs on his page are master builder quality. Good luck with your Razor Crest! I have been doing one in my spare time as well, and it is definitely not as easy as it looks. Thanks! Your MOCs are awesome, so that really means a lot!- 25 replies

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter

The images are still on the Flicker album. I think he just didn't want to deal with it anymore. If you are being dogpiled on the internet, sometimes it is just easier to leave than try to defend yourself, even when you are in the right. And I agree selling instructions for a mod would be scummy, but I do not think mine or his are mods. I looked at the instructions and compared them to mine, and they are completely different. You can even look at the parts inventory for both and see there is very little overlap there as well.- 25 replies

That really sucks. I think I said it before, but some people just enjoy making chaos and or the whole crabs in a bucket analogy; you don't need to put a lid on a bucket full of crabs because if one tries to climb out the rest will pull it down. I remember seeing yours and besides the fact it was a TIE Fighter, I have to say it seemed structurally different. When I think of a 'copy', I imagine something like when Lego re-releases the X-Wing or Millennium Falcon with minor changes from the last version, but the guts are all the same. You are obviously a talented builder, and it is a shame you were essentially bullied off the site. Edit: I just realized 'Rubblemaker' was the same guy accusing you of stealing!- 25 replies

Impressive, most impressive. I did not realize how big this ship was until you set it down next to the UCS Falcon. Working on this for 12 years is some serious dedication. Do you have any images of some of the older variations? I'm guessing a lot changed during the build processes, especially with all the new pieces released in that time.

This is super cool. A while back I was trying to make the Orville, but I could not figure out how to do the engines because they curve in all three directions. This was masterfully done, and if I ever go back to trying to make that ship, I will have to try out this technique!

That is a great MOC. Once the new wave of Star Wars sets is out, you will be able to complete it with the Beskar fig Might I suggest swapping the lightsaber hilts to this one: The Ahsoka figure that comes in the Rebel Combat Frigate is sporting those, and looking at some still frames from both Rebels and The Mandalorian her hilts do have a bit of a curve to them. P.S. I just noticed the tree was made with barrels, great part usage!

Geeze, that set took me like 8 hours to assemble without taking breaks. That is some serious dedication to the craft of stop motion animation. Do you by chance know how many individual photos you took for the video? Edit: 7136 photos used.

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter
DarthMario replied to DarthMario's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Minor update to the model. I just found out about the new 3x3x1 round corner bricks and used those to make the engine look much more like the movie model. Under the hood, some structural changes were made to make it a bit more sturdy. The only unfortunate thing is the light bluish grey variant only comes in the new Poe Dameron's X-wing Fighter (75273) so the piece isn't easy to come by. Fortunately, you do get 8 in that set. Hopefully Lego will release this piece in more sets with more colors, because I think it will be used for a lot of great MOCs.- 25 replies

Probably the best AT-ST MOC I’ve seen. I really like the Bionicle joints for connecting the legs to the cockpit. I think the go to for most people would have been technic pins but that looks way better.

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter
DarthMario replied to DarthMario's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I even went as far as to ask people who know little to nothing about Lego if they thought one model was a copy of the other, and they all said no. They all cited that the wings, arms were nothing alike and that the cockpit besides the printed pieces and the domes did look similar, but the shaping around it was not the same.- 25 replies

That’s kind of a rude way of making a suggestion. Why not just say it looks great, but the OP could use that new piece, which they might not be aware of, to make it even better.

I really like these small diorama type MOCs compared to the ones that take up an entire kitchen table. You can put that on a shelf and enjoy it for years. Also, the rock is really well done.

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter
DarthMario replied to DarthMario's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I still don’t see how they are so similar that you are saying it is just a mod. The guy you linked earlier, their TIE fighter has the same exact wing design were the bricks are in all different directions. I even have the earlier versions posted, and they look far from similar. If I was going to copy, why would I have made so many different iterations? I don’t think using the dome piece idea warrants calling it a mod. That is like saying Android phones need to credit the iPhone for the whole touch screen phone idea. I had fun designing it, my friends gave me input every step of the way, and I put the time in to make instructions if anyone else wants to make it.- 25 replies

[MOC] [INSTRUCTIONS] Imperial TIE Fighter
DarthMario replied to DarthMario's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I did not copy that model. Yes, I have seen it, but, no, I was not looking at it when I was building. The only thing I used for inspiration was the dome pieces to form the ball, but that hardly qualifies as majority of the build. I just watched the video where they show the model in detail, and almost everything is different: the cockpit hatch opens up and you can put the figure through the top, the wings have only two sections (and to be honest, I used the edge from my Solo tie fighter, just swapped the plates for tiles), almost all of the detailing is different. I was only looking at my Star Wars visual guides for reference specifically so I would not copy anyone.- 25 replies

Hello all! This is my first attempt at a UCS style MOC. I've been wanting to redo all my playset Star Wars sets, so I decided to start with the TIE Fighter, and I am really happy with the results. If you want to get the instructions, I posted them on ReBrickable for download. Here is the model from the front and back: And here it is with my other UCS sets: For those who are interested, here is some of the earlier versions of the model. First, this is what I dubbed the fat TIE. Then, the wings got slimmed down. At this point they were still plates instead of bricks. This was the last iteration before I built the physical model. It looks a lot like the final version, but it could not support its own weight, so the cockpit and arms were completely changed.
