Great review. I will get this mainly for the mini figs and speeder bike. My only wish was that it had 2 speeder bikes and scouts instead of just 1.

Great review. I have this set as well and chose to get it first before the Tri-pod Invader mostly because of the light feature. I like the very front piece as it looks like the grill from a classic car which I assume it's originally from a set with an old car like that. I was pleased with how well the rubber tips work to abduct the farmer. All you have to do is hover down on top of him and he sticks right in there. My only very minor nit pick would be that I would have preferred the hinge for the canopy to be in the back and not the front, but I can see why they did it that way.

I got this set and was a bit disappointed. I think it would be a good build for the younger Lego fan. Visually, I think it looks nice. I wasn't originally going to get it, but after seeing it on display in the Lego store I decided to buy it. A few things I think would have improved the set. Have some way to latch the cargo doors shut Include an extra mini figure Include some tool accessories Use a different hinge mechanism on the wing flaps Make the rear landing gear easier to remove for ease of play

No one said that every collectible mini figure theme is exactly what ideas they will do in the future. But, I think it does give a clue into their line of thinking. It gives people a more narrow focus on what ideas they might do. Yes, someone can claim that they will do a monsters theme and someone can claim they will do a ninja theme. Sometimes they will be right and sometimes they will be wrong.

Interesting question you pose do they go vintage or modern? I think a modern City theme specifically geared toward girls is a great way to go. I know I struggle to find sets for my daughter that are not too "girly" as she has outgrown princess stuff. Fortunately, she likes Star Wars so some of those sets she enjoys. Recently I got her the Camper set and Small Car. Personally, I think the Creator series has some great sets that girls could enjoy. I plan to give her the Beach House and Apple Tree House that I got off ebay recently. I also plan to give her plenty of girl mini figs to go with them. This is for an end of school year good grades reward. Some good City themed sets I think would work for girls based on what my daughter enjoys: Horse Ranch Concert Hall with a pop singer and a band Fashion Boutique Pet Shop (glad to see that set has been made, but maybe a more moderately priced one would be even better) Dog Park or simply a City Park (could have bikes, scooters, etc) Artist or maybe Ballet Studio School House Cruise Ship scene Doctor's Office Vet Office Hair Salon I don't think these sets have to go overboard with the pastels to appeal to girls. They just have to be of subjects girls would enjoy playing with. These sets could work with the existing City theme as well. I'm sure there are even more great ideas.

Great work. I love how you are using the hazmat guys. When I saw the Alien Conquest theme I knew I had to get more hazmat guys to go along with it. One thing I might suggest is to grab some of the Toy Story green army men with jeep kits. I will swap heads, hands and weapons and replace the ADU with traditional army guys. However, I may use the ADU guys as the super secret team that handles UFO events. The design of the alien ships really has that retro feel and I think it's really neat.

Perhaps if we could compare the weight of each set with the price it would give a more accurate representation of value for the money. Of course there are other variables to consider like printing vs. stickers, special designed bricks, licensing contracts, etc. But, I think you will find that prices have indeed gone up overall as is expected.

Yes, I had this happen to me today as well. I came on here to see what this mini figure was all about, and I come to realize it really wasn't meant to be for sale right now. $.01 mini figure FTW!
