  1. Very simple and clear explanation, good job! As you pointed out, Volvo uses a different linkage than the classic Z-linkage used in set 42209, so that could be a good challenge to mod.
  2. Funny thing is that real Volvo L120 has different linkage, with the actuator on the bottom, maybe you should try to mod it like the real one
  3. Yes. 42215 is 1:17 scale (comparing the width of the turret). Arocs is around 1:18. The Volvo hauler is around 1:21.
  4. What do you suggest then? Are the LAs the reason of slowness? I've seen some mocs with a reasonable working speed, I suppose without gear reductions. The liebherr wasn't too bad in my opinion (real excavators of that size are slow).
  5. Still faster than moving it manually with a knob This excavator must be completely emptied and filled with motors for a full rc version. Is the superstructure directly in contact with the liftarms of the undercarriage?
  6. The wheel loader is in 1:24 scale. The same scale of 42203 dump truck, can somebody post a picture of the 2 models working together?
  7. Test the tracks in real life to check if they are too tensioned.
  8. This sounds very good! Looking forward to see the progress
  9. Thanks but I need the opposite: use the Porsche Hub instead of the regular PU Hub + 3 motors.
  10. Is it possible to control this hub with brickcontroller2?
  11. Images of 42217 are also online on the Lego Shop.
  12. Tracks look to be not properly tensioned. It would have been nice if there was a tensioner like in the Cat bulldozer. The quick coupler system is a nice feature, but it's a little "big". The fourth function could have been the hummer, with a manual coupling system. The undercarriage is very empty, so motorizing it should not be too difficult. The overall look is well captured. The price is high but for some reason I don't feel it too high for what I see.
  13. Based on the width of your model, compared to the real one, it looks to be around 1:32 scale
  14. I like it very much, especially the "technic" look. What scale is it approximately?
  15. Wheels can change the look of a car so much! Please Lego re-introduce wheel covers.
  16. Blue or dark azure? Difficult to understand from this picture.
  17. Very cool mod! I'm starting to like this little truck.
  18. I completely agree. I also don't like this kind of use because system parts are 8mm "thick", instead technic liftarms are a little thinner, so you see a micro non-complanarity on the surface and it looks "wrong".
  19. 42217 will be a blue version of the Corvette. More recoloured parts oh yes!
  20. I think the set is just an excavator and not a demolition excavator. The info was slightly wrong and it was called in that way because the set comes with a bucket and with an hammer.
  21. I'm afraid it does not come with a shear but with an hammer. So definitely not a proper demolition excavator.
  22. A realistic demolition excavator should have at least 4 or 5 functions in the upperstructure.
