Heroica RPG - Quest #48: Death's Homecoming
Bricksandparts replied to Endgame's topic in The Heroica Archive
OoC: Why can't I land a special?!?! Johon is flung backwards by the sniper's shot. After collecting himself, he gets back up and stares at his foes. Johon prepares his sword and charges at his opponents, the Trojan and the sniper, from the front row. -
I agree, Joeshmoe has an excellent RP entrance. It isn't often that we see someone so new have a really neat and inventive new character.

I think that there should be 1-3 tutorial quests always running when new players arrive. It would give them 1-2 levels of XP, some gold, maybe a potion? But the main point would be to explain the basics of the game. There should only ever need to be 2 quests running at once, unless there was a large stampede of new players. The quest would be, say, 3-5 days long, a simple introduction, maybe there would be 3 different story-lines, some npcs, and a 2 battles, 1 completely fought by NPCs and the rounds and effects are explained, then the players fight one.

"Sylph, Lyc. I mean Romulus, and me could use a heal. If you can heal us some I could try and take down that Juggernaut and the other artillery progg." -

"Ouch. My turn." Johon growls as he repeats his attack. FR Mage B FR Art A "Sylph, have someone finish off the first mage, he's pretty wounded." -

OoC: It wouldn't make any difference if someone else that was lucky used it, that's my point. Hal could use it, just someone give him a nostrum and smelling salt. -
My main question for the future is how powerful are enemies going to get? I mean, are we going to see battles like this when a party goes to fight some orcs? It just seems to impractical, for a time the enemies are so weak, but then they keep getting harder and harder, even though they are the same class. I don't think that every quest is going to have some super-evil-fortress with a bunch of super powerful guards, not including the boss. Has anyone else thought about this? Orc guard A Level 200 Humanoid Health: 3000/3000 SP: 20 Special: Ground smash - the orc jumps high into the air and punches the ground, causing 250 damage to the targeted hero and 50 to all other heroes fighting in the same row. Orc guard B Level 200 Humanoid Health: 3000/3000 SP: 20 Special: Ground smash - the orc jumps high into the air and punches the ground, causing 250 damage to the targeted hero and 50 to all other heroes fighting in the same row. Orc guard C Level 200 Humanoid Health: 3000/3000 SP: 20 Special: Ground smash - the orc jumps high into the air and punches the ground, causing 250 damage to the targeted hero and 50 to all other heroes fighting in the same row. Orc leader Level 320 Humanoid Health: 6000/6000 Ether: 32/32 SP: 36 Special: Elemental punch - the orc leader expends 1 ether to punch his opponent, causing 400 damage and a random element to be used.

"I understand Romulus, but I have the most power attack of us all. My attacks will deal the most damage over time, it does not matter who uses that sword, just as long as they can land a hit (lucky), and preferably quick (hastened), it does not matter if they can land a powerful or not powerful attack, I'm sticking with my sword." -

"I'm best using my sword, I can deal the most damage over time." OoC: Endgame, I see Johon used his consumable list, is this planned to be the main battle coming up? I was planning to use the dragon scale on the main battle. -

Johon sighs as he watches his the phoenix essence slip into Galen's hands. "We need to get moving, quickly." -

Johon takes out a nostrum, smelling salts, and mead, preparing to use them if a battle begins soon. He was trying to save the dragon scale for their final battle in this quest. OoC: In case I am offline, Johon uses these before a large battle (3+ enemies, a boss or something, or DLL thinks it is necessary. -

Johon chuckles, realizing that at this electricity was fully controlled by Eidolon, it was not conductive towards them. -
From now on I am searching up every NPC's name in Google to see if I can figure out more.

"Just wondering, how do you use your electricity? It is quite interesting, I must admit." -

"Eidolon, this conversation is nice, but what is the main goal here? To scare us? To try and stop us from attacking? To try and justify your means?" -
Since when was anything in this game realistic?
-
Yeah, I just thought that you were saying that IRL it is good to offer others rather then yourself.
-
Ok, you are taking it more from a RP or realistic point of view, different concept.
-
I get that, but why should humans be offering each other to spare themselves, I didn't get that. I understand that if many people had the choice, they would do so, but that doesn't make it good. Plus Johon has already fought a dragon, which after continuous battles, finally won, although he was very cautious.
-
And should be? Why?

"Eidolon, you are most impressive, I will admit, but your intentions will lead to your defeat. I realize there is most likely no point in trying to beg you to change, I know you will not, so lets get straight to the point. You are gonna come here to try and fight us, or maybe take us captive?" Johon says elbowing Alex. "Would you stop it?" -

"Uh, miscounted, forgot the last was not a D, so it'd be 9 forwards, 1 back."
