I'm not sure exactly what the situation is, just throwing ideas out there.

My suggestion for alternatives for gold is have some set items for other enemies, worth different amounts based on the enemy. For example, birds would drop feathers, for example gold#/10 rounded up would be the amount they drop. Each feather could be sold to merchants for a specified amount or used for other uses if any arise. Some more examples would be scales, claws, ethereal dust (some type of magical dust for magical enemies?), skin pelt, etc. Note: Each item would have different values, as to balance amount of gold actually earned. For example, feather might be worth 5 gold while pelts would be worth 8 gold.

QM Note: It is still night, and Hal will have the horses in the morning. Basically the question is do you wish to talk to any of the NPCs or go to bed before the morning. It seems though that you wish to continue, although you may want to RP with Alexander finding the notebook first. -

The man passes most of the money back to Mizuki, keeping only 30 gold. Through sobs, he speaks. "You need this... more than I do..." Meanwhile, Romulus attempts to reassure Mizuki. Listening to the conversation, Jenessa perks up when she hears about the pharmacy. "Pharmacy? Poisoning?" She inquires, before paying her respects to the man kneeling on the floor. Jenessa begins to walk back to the tavern, whispering to Romulus to come back when he was ready. "I need to be leaving. Rebellions plague my city, Farmont, in the northern regions of Eubric." Jeremy says, preparing to leave. Looking through the bandits, Alexander finds a notebook, although he is unable to interpret it. Perhaps someone would be able to interpret it, however. -

QM Note: I accidentally lost the data of the battle as this stupid new mouse keeps clicking things I don't want it to. I was deleting a segment and the mouse didn't properly select the region, thus causing the page to refresh the previous page, making me lose the data on this screen. I remember what happened in the battle, and fortunately you won in that round. The stats are updated. 200 Gold 4 Potions (Restores 10 health to the target.) 1 Venom (Use on a weapon to make it cause the poisoned by 1-effect on any enemy it hits for the duration of one battle, making the poisoned enemy lose 1 health each turn. I realize this, and It's because I am trying to organize the battle results in a manner that making mistakes in calculations would be less frequent. Throughout this quest, the battle results have evolved, due to me tinkering with them to see what is good and bad about each. Sorry for the confusion.

Alexander throws a lightning bomb into the smoke, revealing the figure before them. Mizuki prepares to fight before realizing it was what o one had expected. It was Jenessa herself, Holding the knife of her would-be captor. She was weakened from the bomb, and couldn't fight even if she wanted to. Romulus, with the trident in one hand and combrys in the other, is able to stab 2 of the bandits, causing them to howl in pain. One falls to the ground whilst the other topples over into the fountain. The Bandits regain their composure and prepare to fight back. If the party was to use any consumables, they would have a turn to use them. The party throws the smoke bombs, fogging the view from everyone. Mizuki and Alexander are frightened as they realize they cannot see where Jenessa is, as apparently she and the bandit had moved since they threw the bomb. A small scream can be heard in the smoke, then another, and then silence and a thump of someone falling to the ground. Meanwhile, Jeremy and Romulus rush towards the other two citizens, getting in between them and the bandits. The entire party was still in the disguise of the fog, so what would they do now?
