  4. Neat idea, Magnus the Great. Thanks for sharing it!
  5. Ops, I meant to comment on this yesterday, but I forgot These are a neat video and decal you show us, exxtrooper! Having some experience with this kind of presentation and work, I can imagine the ammount of effort it took to make the video. Thanks for sharing
  6. I see WhiteFang already answered the questions Yes, the electroplated chrome items can be seen in BrickArms.com shop (modern combat and blade packs). As for the prototypes, you can get an idea of them by looking at this thread on Eurobricks, or following the Tales from the garage on BA forum. The actual contents of the Prototypes bags may vary from one prize to the other and they will be a little surprise for the winners
  7. You can make any character from any media, as long as you respect also this rule:
  8. You're right. I'll put it in the ideas' book for next years!

  14. I think this is a common concern among decal users, and with reason. In my experience, I have always used plain torsos whenever possible, to avoid the risk. But in some cases (lack of plain torso of the proper colour), I've used printed ones to. The other point is I prefer using removable post-it-like paper for decals, as the glue is less aggressive. That said, you will understand I've limited experience with regular tapes. But I have some: I used normal tape, bended over to make a sort of double tape, a few times. It did not visibly damage the printing on LEGO pieces. The real matter, however, is how strong the glue on your double tape is. If it's very strong, then it will probably damage the printing. And, the longer you let it apllied, the longer it will (chemically) interact with the plastic and ink and probably ruin them. I find this (used with the bent-over technique) to be the best tape for apllying decals without damaging the LEGO piece. I hope this long rant did not annoy helps you
  15. Try using the colours listed in this chart for a start. Then, keep in mind that the paper you print your decals on will influence the result: on clear decal paper, the colour will look good when printed, but will remain a bit transparent and will blend with the part's colour when applied; on white decal paper, the colour will often look slightly lighter than actual LEGO and you may have to experiment a bit to darken it. Let apart normal paper, which will get a grainy effect, which is impossible to get rid of, being it connaturated in the support. All in all, I think clear decal paper is more indicated for darker colours, while white decal paper work good with lighter ones (light blue come out almost perfect, for example). Hope this helps you
  16. Happy Birthday my friend! Knowing you, I'm sure you're enjoying it
  17. Thank you and good luck.

  19. Very nice presentation and neat collection of BA items you have here, WhiteFang! Thanks for sharing
  20. Another entrant Your take on the cosplay theme is quite peculiar (in a positive way). I notice, though, that you missed one of the required shot of the custom figure: front, side and back. Please provide it before the contest ends
  21. Very nice entry, KielDaMan! Buu is one of my favourite DBZ characters, too I just have to ask you to reduce your post by 2 pics, as by our contest's rules (max 5 pics per entry). Maybe you can change the second and the bonus pics to links? Thank you
