I'm looking forward to the new Hoth Base. If I was a kid, I'd love it as it was. Looks really fun and playable. But I'm going to mod it heavily - everything within it is really useful to make a bigger, better Hoth base. Just add in 7666 (maybe enlarge the doors to T-65 width/height) and numerous copies of the smaller Hoth sets and I think we could have something really special.

From July 1st to August 31st, Esso petrol stations are running this offer: They include a jet ski, a police dinghy, a quad-bike, an aircraft, a fire engine and a helicopter. Here's the T&Cs. Here's the list of participating stations. Oh, and there's a picture of the firetruck here.

TLG wouldn't do this. Battlepacks are for army building. They'd be mad to sell something like the bounty hunters for £10/$11, rather than put them in a range of sets for £50/$60+. Plus you'd only ever need to buy 1 battlepack as you wouldn't need more than one IG-88, etc.

Depending on when your son is going to college, I'm wondering whether it would be best to keep hold of it until that time. It will surely keep its value, but may indeed increase in value over time? Just a thought?

For me, this forum allows me double excitement: I get excited when a piece of news or an image is released on here; then I get excited again when I buy the set some time later and get it home.

Not sure if I am posting this in the right place - should it be in Star Wars or in Minifig Customisation Workshop? Please move it if I've put it in the wrong place. Anyway, I'm sure some of you clever people have already done this but I couldn't see it anywhere on here, so I thought I'd share. I was looking to make a Lak Sivrak to go in my Hoth scene and found a simple customisation. Does it work ok? Obviously, I could have done something with his feet (perhaps a tooth piece in brown if they made them?) but I didn't want anything too ugly in there. Could also be given a Rebel Pilot torso and legs as he was a pilot for the Rebellion? Any thoughts appreciated.

He was deliberately left behind on Echo Base by a smuggler as he was annoying and irritable. Sounds like he deserved his fate. I agree with this. I was disappointed with 7666 because it lacked anything behind the door (aside from a couple of tiny fold-out sections with limited detail), but this makes having it worthwhile. Should fit nicely together, in my humble opinion.

I wonder how the two will integrate? Could this sit nicely beside #7666?

We've had C-3PO and K-3PO, with R-3PO coming soon. Next up, I'd like to see M-3PO (Emtrey). That would complete the Echo Base protocol droids. I'm trying to figure out a custom Emtrey using the Death Star Protocol body - but what to use for the head?! Now if TLG would just release one, it would save me the trouble...
