LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Now we have a better pic of the x-wing, I like it more now. I still think they should have chosen another fighter over the X-wing, like a B-wing or so, but I can't say it looks bad at all. The shape is sleeker than the previous version which is due to the ''slimmer'' body and the huge improved laser cannons. -

I'll be working on another LDD creation. This time it well be a character, but which one will be revealed when it's done. -
LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

A new 3-stud wide astromech droid design would make sense. But that would require a total different design of the body and legs however. We all know they use the single hinges as seen on the right these days, but they don't fit, unless R2 would be moved 1 plate lower. -
Just lovely! The helmet is perfect.

Very nice! The cutaway effect is indeed really cool, so are the probe droid and other details.

LEGO Star Wars 2012 Pictures and Rumors

Thanks ALOT for the pics! My overall opinion on those sets says we as AFOL's can be satisfied. Most of the vehicles are great, so are the figs. We see some improvided stormtroopers, new astromech droids and those six, sweet planet sets. I can't wait for the day I'll order the BP's and all the planet sets at one time. My thoughts on those sets: Droid escape: Great set. Two new stormtroopers and the espace pod itself looks so much better than the first one. Although most of us already have an army of R2-D2's, I don't blame TLG for including him in this set, as he just belongs in this scene. Not so sure about the new C3-PO though, I'll just have to see a more detailed shot of him. Geonosion cannon: Sweet. Neat figures, nice cannon. Good to see the geonosians have their own blasters now. X-wing Starfighter: Meh. The only one I don't really like. The X-wing is just too much of the same as the previous version. Why not a new B-wing instead? The new astromech droid is neat though. TIE Fighter: Cool! Way better than the previous versions, very accurate and I really like the new cockpit piece. It gives you way more freedom when MOC'ing a TIE and doesn't limit your imagination as the first TIE cockpit piece did. Endor battlepack: Sweet! I like the new Endor troopers and I can always use another stormie and scoutboy. And some foliage can't be wrong, right? Geonosion battlepack: New clones? Check. New droids? Check. Armory included? Check. As for the droid's legs, I'll just replace 'em with regular dark bley droid legs. Planet sets: Another '' ''. Very nice stuff. Easy way to get a new figure and some parts. I don't think I'm going NOT to buy any of them. -
Very nice. I especially like Commander Bly. It would be nice to see different characters of the Star Wars universe, which are related to each other, in a cube like this. Good job.
-
Awesome! Full of details, especially the glass made out of cheese slopes is an eye-catcher. Great work!
-
Battle for Geonosis and the V-wing.
-
Excellent work! A very slick look, in combination with an awesome rifle and a neat designed head is just amazing. Keep up the good work!
-
Yes! This is so great (well, small actually )! I think Bossk is my favorite, followed closely by Boba Fett and IG-88. Maybe you can try to make R2-D2, he would be really small which might be hard to design, but I think this little astromech droid would be very cute.
-
Very sweet vignette, nice use of the windscreen piece too.
-
Wow, that's great Illuwater! Never though someone would give this LDD design a shot. Good luck. I hope you can solve all the illegal LDD techniques I used, the floating bricks etcetera, as my design was purely build for the looks.
-
What a lovely scale. They both look pretty cute too. Guess R2-D2 on this scale would be cuteness overload.
-
Haha, especially the last one made me laugh Skrytsson! And that's why this forum is only restricted for AFOL's huh.

ACPin, could you replace my first entry with the new one? Thanks. -
Een mooi stukje werk! (A nice piece of work!) Especially the kettenrad.
-
You're welcome. Glad you like it.
-
Indeed, the bowcaster alone deserves it's own thread.
-
Especially the last source is useful. On starwarswikia I found these schematics, but those weren't accurate, right?
-
Thanks Brickdoctor. Hope it will work.. .lxf file And again.. this is NOT buildable in real without the heavy proper modifications..
-
Thanks for all the kind comments people! Really makes me happy. Actually, this LDD design is not buildable in real, as it doesn't contain a frame and is influenced by a lot of ''illegal LDD techniques'', like floating bricks. If I (or someone else) would build this in real, it would be possible, but there would also be a lot of things need to be fixed before it can be turned in a real model. Well, I do have enough grey and also the white parts I would need for this build, but specific pieces like the two large ones at the end of each engine and the flex tubes have to be bricklinked. I believe the price can not be checked in LDD extended. But maybe I'm wrong, I'll check it for you. You could be right in this case, my thought were the same. I didn't know where I can find any realistic schematics for the Y-wing, so I don't know of the engines should be shorter. Sure, I'm going to find out how now. And thanks for the backstage support 'fallenangel309', the flex tube for example, was your idea.
