  1. Redbird, are you able to send me the instructions too? btw, do the landing gears on your shuttle fold up at all or are they fixed in place?
  2. Thanks, I thought I’d seen some other threads on modding 10212 than this one!
  3. Necrobump! scottishdave, did you ever get the landing gear to fold up? Just scored a cheapo 75094, and am looking at using it for parts to MOC an interior for 10212 and connect the cockpit and main body. Maybe even a boarding ramp...
  4. I’m tempted to try the concept Bennys battle buggy design : https://images.app.goo.gl/rRU6jv92vfvXZnpu7 had the Classic space mobile rocket launcher as a kid, so the battle buggy hit a lot of nostalgia spots for me.
  5. Thanks, but I got it sorted a few days back and she’s now sitting proudly in front of the UCS Falcon. ?
  6. Thanks. Been fiddling with it again tonight but still can’t see how to get it to work. I can eventually get the side panels into place after some persuading and a fair bit of swearing, but as soon as I try to get the middle sections into place, it all comes apart again. ?
  7. Nearly finished, but the bottom of the fuselage right under the cockpit is driving me mad. I’ve spent ages trying to get the cargo bay area to work, but the fragility of the subassemblies, the stress they’re under from other sub assemblies, and the fact that it’s the obvious place to pick it up means that it simply isn’t sturdy enough. Anyone else had problems building this area?
  8. Causes gaps in the top of the fuselage in front of the cockpit when you put the top panels on? Managed to fill most of them with a couple of 1x6 plates. :)
  9. Still working on the cockpit segment after tearing it down and starting again, plus having to get some missing pieces sent through. One thing I didn’t like is that the sides on the stock model bow inwards due to the ball joint parts being too far apart, so I moved them and the black 1x3 plates forward by one stud, and used a pair of 1x1 tiles to fill the gap, as in the pic below, which now lets them sit straight and relieves the stress on them.
  10. Yeah, it’s going better tonight. ? Seemed like a bit of a fragile mess at first, but it’s getting sturdier now and starting to look the business. Can see why Lego wouldn’t make this as an official set though, it’s very complex!
  11. Actually, should the wing mechanism be quite hard to move early on? I’m up to page 25 and finding it tough to open and close the wings using a technic bar and gear (it’s fairly easy to open them manually though), and am wondering if it’ll get easier further into the build.
  12. Just got the last order for this off BrickLink. Time to set to! So many small pieces!
  13. Thanks, I was referring to wheels (on the cannons right in front of the wings, for example) rather than tiles though.
  14. Just brought the instructions for this today and am looking on BrickLink at the moment. I can get nearly all the parts for £130 before postage, but the hot dog, 24 tooth technic gear, and 2x2 wheels with pin holes are proving complicated. Do the hot dogs need to be black, and do the wheels need to be LBG or will grey do as well?
  15. Would a UCS set actually make it to shelves without any official confirmation or pictures though?
  16. Couple of possibilities: they’re not making too many in case they end up shelf warming. £650 A’s a lot of money and there may well not be a huge market at that price range. In addition, a lot of people may be buying to sell for a quick profit on eBay or stockpiling them because they think it’s going to be worth as much as 10179 at its peak after it gets retired. or maybe Lego really are short supplying it to create hype..... ?
  17. I just finished building the hunk of junk tonight, and it's now in the place on my TV unit previously filled by 10179. Cracking build, think I enjoyed it more than the Saturn V even. There are some parts with annoying gaps though, and I have some ideas on modding it. Problem is that my parts box isn't large enough, so I'm either going to have to try them in LDD or buy a load of misc parts.
  18. Are you able to post the LDDs you've done so far, there's some mods I'd like to do on the framework?
  19. Doubt Lego would sell the printed cockpit piece by itself (think there's licensing issues, for example), and I think it and other pieces unique to 75192 are going for big money on bricklink, even before you get the time and money involved in buying the 2k+ extra pieces.
  20. I've called a couple of times and stopped by in person a few times. It really is pot luck at the minute, as the staff I've spoken to have just shrugged and said they'll have more stock in by Xmas. deliveries are on Monday apparently but they didn't have any falcons this week.
  21. Is there any straightforward way of doing this?! I've got the Lxf File for this x-wing MOC: but out when I try to save it to XML in LDD, it says a particular brick cannot be found. I've tried other websites, other file formats, dragging and dropping/copying and pasting directly in Bricklink, and nothing works. Is there a way of doing it that doesn't have to be needlessly complicated?
  22. UCS AT-AT? Only thing that hasn't been done and would be large enough to merit a high price.
  23. I took the plunge and coughed up a huge sum for a proper boxed Falcon shortly before Xmas. Now I've just gotta decide whether this is a valid rumour and I need to sell it on after just a few weeks while prices are still high...
  24. UCS Ewok village, naboo starfighter, clone wars Y-wing?
