  1. I would suggest sandboxing yourself get a couple of creator sets and do alternative builds :D Don't need to worry about parts just build!
  2. For me it will be mechs (system and bionicle) and creatures!!!
  3. For me it was actually Ninjago. I saw Kai's fire mech (Non movie version). As a gundam model kit collector i was curious how lego mechs were made and boy what an eye opener that set was for me. End up buying other sets to mod it and it grew to quite an addiction. Coupled with my laziness for painting model kits and with my 1st born coming (paint fumes are a big no). But my full transition came when i came to know of Moko, Lu Sim's and Ben Cheh's mechs on flickr....the works have been very inspirational and I ended up running a mech group with Lu and Ben :P
  4. Thank you very much!!
  5. wow wee thanks!!! Very surprised i thought they are more of a news site :D
  6. Haha not really instructions per se ^^ just a guide. I reused the mod i used on the ninjago fire mech legs When i did the mod my intention was to go for minimal changes to the torso so that those attempting it at home can just mod the legs. in fact i did little to no changes to the arms and feet. And you are right that mod is a refinement from the Ninjago Fire Mech haha. At least they could have port over the hips of the ninjago firemech :D
  7. Ah just finished mine ^^ hb completed by Kelvin Low, on Flickr
  8. The pleasure is mine haha!!
  9. Oh i have a vampire tech dragon in the works as requested by my son :P
  10. Actually we do sort some bricks but mainly the basic plates and 1 x 2s, 1 x 4s, and plants/flowers as he likes to build houses :D Other than that i second what the others have mentioned ^^
  11. Should have no problem with that joint. It is quite strong :D
  12. End of the day its your own moc, don't worry about whether its illegal or not. If it works, it works!!
  13. Thats a really effective mod :D
  14. That hairpiece use is brilliant!
  15. Do you have a pic of that part? Perhaps i can give some pointers
  16. Lovely build :D I love the compact look! Interesting choice of that technic piece as the arm ^^
  17. I am sad that it ended early, my son and i loved the sets and story. As for the parts the nexo knight battle suit cockpit piece was godsend for mech mocers, not to mention the new nexo tile shields and the nexogonal shields!!
  18. have you considered using a solid wooden board below as a support and then build on top of it?
  19. Very inventive use of those bionicle pieces!!!
  20. Haha this is a great concept! love this!
  21. The shaping on this is excellent! I love what you have done for the torso and feet! I just got those exact pieces from bricklink recently :D (Shin and shoulder armors) Not really that sure on the blue tubings though.
  22. Looks fantastic! The presentation is brought up a notch with that base! My favorite part is the greebling!!! So intense!
  23. How this is something you don't see everyday. So far what i have seen are hybrids, mixing system and duplo mocs. To be honest as a parent myself I won't be buying something like that...so far most of the large size sets from duplo, we always end up not following the instructions and do our thing haha. I think a 70% system and 30% duplo might be more appealing. Just my 2 cents.
  24. Omg cleverly build SFX!!!!
