  1. Ahahah, true. :)
  2. Yesterday I made another modify to the engine, making the central piece one stud longer (5 instead of 4). It seems more stable. But I guess I'll have to redo it completely to pass from a (...2-2-3-)5-3-2-2-2... scheme to a (...2-2-2-3-2-2-2... :) It's not too dangerous to travel hyperspace without safety belts? :P
  3. I agree with The Orange Thing. Working on interiors with LDD is difficult and may bring you to errors as it’s easy to go out from boundaries (I.e. missing a structural stuff here and there) and having your finished work not fitting in. It happened to me. :) Anyway, if you want to have a look to my LDD files, you can find them here: http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310
  4. Yes, I did it here: www . eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?/forums/topic/154471-75192-ucs-millennium-falcon-2017-modmoc/&page=13&tab=comments#comment-2917936 (please remove the spaces between "www" and the link, I've no idea why but forum auto-linking gets you to the wrong page) Had to do some mods to the panels to avoid to make the vents one plate higher, but nothing really complicated. :) There's a link to the LDD file.
  5. @Matti I loved to read your story, and I’ll wait for more pics. :) @MatrixOne That engine looks great. What about a flex tube in the center row too? :)
  6. Not really much. Just a front storage module to slide inside mandibles and a bunch of blue bricks here and there for the top part. :) (I don't like the new antenna as the official blueprints of YT-1300 never mentioned it). It's hard to say without the full view but, if I'd have to choose, I'd go for the first (top left) one. It perfectly covers the space between angled blocks. :) I can't wait to see how your finished project looks, as I'm still not too much excited about my engine mod. :D
  7. Thanks. :) And yeah, during the first orders Bricklink is a bit of a pain and no, you'll never find everything in one shop for most of your MOCs (even if it has several options to reduce them as much as possible, even if the pieces price may get higher). Yes, despite the fact that someday I'll may be working a bit on internals (again) my MILF (I know, I know but I find that fun :D) project is finished. While the mandibles and engine LDD files are (I think) 100% identical to real mods, some of the most complex ones may be a bit different (like internals), due to some small errors and last minute changes here and there. But they're good to give you an idea of the final work. :)
  8. It’s a well designed ship, but I suggest you to check it at least every 6 months. Dead Star engineers are still looking for its pieces since 1977. :D
  9. I like it a lot, my compliments. :) What elements? It’s strange as light gray is the old color, while light bluish gray is the new one and should be easier to find. I won’t suggest you to use the light gray ones as their tone is quite different (unless you want to do it on purpose) and the difference is very evident. Are you really so brave to sit just below it? Lego connections are sturdy but that’s not an angle it was projected for and I don’t know what could happen in, say, ten years. :)
  10. I guess you loose part of internal rooms (or maybe no?) but it seems really interesting. +1 for a video. :) I've finished mine as well, but I'm really no good in shooting pics. :D More details (and LDD plans) on all my mods here: http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310
  11. The pic is a bit tiny but the right engine looks very sexy. Do you have a bigger image? :) Anyway bars seem the best.
  12. Glad to have been useful. :) After finished the work, looking back to the original ones, I've to thank you for the idea. The Lego solution is really terrible in comparison. :D
  13. Interesting. But how about the resistance? Can you still lift it and move around? I scare it could become too fragile without the original structure.
  14. Sure, I’ve the LDD projects of all the mods I’ve applied so far. You can find them in this article. It’s in Italian, but you can either ignore it and just open the “progetto” panel (the link to the LDD file is the last one) at the end of every section or press the little page icon on top bar to have a rough english translation (some aesthetic visuals of the website will be spoiled, but it still works somehow). :) Keep in mind they may be slightly different from the final form, as I keep experimenting and change things.
  15. I cannot remember who asked about changing vents rotation angle. At beginning the Lego solution didn't bother me but, since I almost finished all my mods, today I decided to give it a try and this is the result: The difficult part was modifying the baseplates so the vents didn't raise by one plate (only the top sides ones, the lower one don't have this problem) and I think the result is more than acceptable. The best thing was I didn't have to apply any trick, every angle can be achieved with regular connections: The rotating element isn't mandatory but it adds up to stability. If you're interested in the LDD project you can find it here (among all my other mods): http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310#ventole
  16. Yes but if you superimpose it on the LEGO one you see that beds are non visible from the hole (but who cares, we do as we like). :) Thanks for the pics, it’s clearer now. But how do you think to display it? You need to mod a lot of top panels.
  17. Could you shot some pic from more far? It’s very hard to understand well where those mods are in the Falcon. :)
  18. From these two books (sorry italian text): http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11564 Of course my version is "licensed" as well. Just a general idea about where is where, as it's not possible to recreate the real zones with a perfect match. :)
  19. I've superimposed the Lego MF on an official blueprint and realized that, technically the sleeping quarters are not visible at all: But I can accept some license because it's nice to let something in sight. I decided I'll let a part of round hall to be visible, because it's a big part of the Falcon. Here's my project (I'm waiting for a pair of Bricklink orders to make it real): 1 - Hallway 2 - Berth 3 - Hidden compartment 4 - Relax zone 5 - Kitchen 6 - Hyperdrive 7 - Escape pod 8 - Armory 9 - Big hidden compartment 10 - "Han-Leia kiss room" 11 - General cargo zone
  20. I had a look to the current issue of Blocks magazine about MF mods. In short they moved the rear Lego room from left to right (like I did in my first mod) and built the night section there. While it’s very nice, I think they got it totally wrong, as the hyperdrive position should be (more or less) where Lego placed it, and beds are no way in that spot on the real Falcon. However it’s an interesting solution. :) Update: Hmmm... having a better look at it, it seems they didn’t swap rooms at all, they just built the night section in the right room.
  21. Interesting work in progress, I’ve still to decide what to do about that (wannabe) room (was thinking about a place where to store the not used antenna), but maybe an hallway to the cockpit would be a better idea.
  22. Ahah, I was getting mad. :) Use https://postimages.org/ and copy the forum-ready link, it’s the easiest method.
  23. Can you post some pic?
  24. Very interesting, thanks. :)
  25. Hi Seasider, you can find all LDD project of my mods (it's still a work in progress) on this page: http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310 Sorry, only italian language there, but you can test your luck with google translator: http://translate.google.com/translate?js=n&sl=auto&tl=en&u=http://www.lemonskin.net/io/11310
