The problem with creating a new chamber of secrets to fit under the old great hall is that they’d then have to lift all the other parts somehow. Although that could also be great as it would give the castle more perspective and allow for other sets to exploit the dungeon sub-level (notably a slytherin common room)

Maybe the other larger set is a more detailed quidditch pitch set. After all, we have all the house uniforms now...

I remain on the fence about most of these sets. I hope that what some people seem to be saying is correct and that the switch away from the ‘regular’ hogwart expansion sets is just temporary for this anniversary line up. That being said, I’m super pleased about the minifigure line-up and will be getting the Hogsmead set day one, as I love these alternative location sets! I guess time will tell... what I mean is that there are very few minifigures outside of the comic-con exclusives that end up reaching any significant prices and that with modern set distribution numbers these aren’t ever as ‘exclusive’ as we’d like to think. But hey, we can all keep them in a safe for 50 years and we may be happily surprised!

No chance, unless they only appear in a given random number of sets I can’t see them gaining much more value than regular figures, albeit those that obviously only ever appear in one set

After giving it a bit of thought I have to say I’m really disappointed with these books... I was really looking forward to them but I feel both the designs and the minifigures are a let down overall. The only appealing thing for me is the Mcgonagall figure (finally a dress piece after all this time!). I like the idea of the common rooms, but in all honesty I also thought the classroom idea sounded good! Looking forward to next year’s sets now.

What do you mean by ‘summer wave’ contains the advent calendar? I’d that not usually released in autumn?

Well I’ll reserve my judgment for when I see the sets, but first thought are that I’ll skip these sets unless they offer some nice exclusive minifigures (here’s hoping for Macgonagall with a dress piece...)

I think the castle sections are always some of the more keenly anticipated sets, so I’d imagine we’ll get a new section one way or another. That being said, it’ll surely come back on itself now as few people would realistically have the space to display anything larger as a single setup... in other news, I got my minifig delivery yesterday and was pleasantly surprised to find only 4 doubles out of 14 bags ordered from Shop Home. I wonder if Lego are making a particular effort to try to help us out?!

I ordered some of the series 2 figures on the Shop Home yesterday, so hoping to get lucky... I don’t really want to go to the store so options are limited. Still on the fence about the AC though. I love the new figures but I’m not really sure they alone are worth the price.

To be honest, from a marketing perspective it makes a lot of sense to include the leaked HP figure in a GWP after the initial release of the DA set. Most of us who want the DA set and can afford it are likely to buy it pretty soon after release, so by adding a small ‘carrot’ a few months later it’ll no doubt convince those on the fence to go out and buy it (without even mentioning the inevitable pre-Christmas push).
