  1. šŸ˜‚ this! (obviously tongue in cheek, but it made me laugh)
  2. I’m not sure they will ever do another boggart snape. We got pretty much the definitive version a few years back in that exclusive 4 minifigure pack (toysRus here in France)
  3. I don’t disagree. Unless they do a micro scale model or a forced perspective, then I don’t think they’ll ever give us a film accurate set. Too many bricks would be needed to provide the ā€˜hill’ part of the city. I can imagine smaller sets that are sold as stand alone sets portraying sections of the city though…
  4. Personally, I think they could provide a fairly good coverage by splitting it I to three sets - one larger one, probably with the top section, then two smaller ones, maybe with the city walls section or gate. It would be cool if combining all three made one seamless larger set but each still works as a stand-alone set. This could also allow for a good selection of minifigures.
  5. Well, it’s a personal choice but you would at least have the option to chose to just get your favourite one(s). And you’d also be able to rotate your displays if you wanted to. case in point, I only ever bought one of the SW dioramas. I liked most of them but not enough to justify the outlay.
  6. šŸ˜‚ yes, well, one doesn’t justify the other. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure Lego could put out an amazing set with a huge selection of minifigures, but there’s surely a point when it’s just too much. personally, I like smaller displays that I can switch up every so often or which are not so obvious that they become a huge focal point. The Rivendale set i think is exceptional and about the maximum size I want on display for any one set. I guess things may be different for those that have entire rooms dedicated to their collection, but I’d imagine that’s not most people.
  7. To me this theme is crying out for the smaller diorama style they used for SW. There are so many iconic moments they could portray (Boromir’s final scene would be one of my favourite). I’m not really sure how anyone can justify spending €1,000 on a Lego set, no matter how great is is…
  8. Man that advent calendar is a let down… literally no redeeming features.
  9. That’s true. Maybe Lego could invent the skirt piece with movable joints!.. šŸ˜‰
  10. Yes, just finished building it yesterday and I love it. I’ve never built any of the mechs before but I think the balrog looks amazing. And compared to a minifigure that thing is huge, so they definitely do the scene justice and capture the scale of the Mines of Moria. My only complaint (if you can call it that) is that Gandalf may have worked better with legs so that he could look up. But the figure is screen accurate and the printing is nice, so that’s if I was being very very picky… More please (but a little less pricey maybe…)!
  11. Do we know what the book nook set is supposed to look like?
  12. Do we have a description of the book nook set?
  13. I’m not sure if it’s been mentioned yet, but the new D&D set includes a bar/pub. Surely this means that there would be no issues with giving us the Leaky Cauldron now!
  14. I’m interested to know why people are so excited about Hagrid’s hut? The previous iteration was absolutely great and I don’t think a remake was needed. Obviously Fang and Norbert are a draw, but is this the only reason people are keen for this?
  15. Well, Lego just confirmed my order is on its way! They also confirmed that the HE was out of stock have reimbursed me for it. The good news is they are still sending both the gifts with purchase even though my order is now only €40!
  16. I waited till this morning and was able to order no problems at all (French online store). Got the hogwarts station and advent calendar as planned, but nearly got sucked in to buying the shreaking shack with the 20% discount… couldn’t justify buying all three though, as the first two got me both gifts.
  17. Yes, I really like the Hogsmead station, so will buy that. If the AC is available I’ll grab that with it, otherwise I’ll need to chose something worthwhile from the less expensive sets…
  18. The building itself looks ok from the outside but at the price point I expected something more than an empty building and a glorified support for the train tracks… I realise that from a price per brick standpoint if is fine, but honestly, far too much of it has gone into making an underground cart system that essentially is just a big slide… No complaints about the minifigure selection though and bonus points for including the Magical Menagerie (although if it’s just a closed building with no inside then šŸ‘Ž).
  19. So, looking ahead, do we think we’ll be seeing further diagon alley expansion sets or do we reckon WWW is a one-off? I’d have thought that it would make sense for Lego to keep producing individual buildings and there’s certainly enough to chose from…
  20. I find it interesting that the brickheads have the new broom designs. Seems like Lego hasn’t completely given up on them then… so hopefully we’ll see them again in the normal sets too
  21. Yes, there’s definitely a new attachment piece but I’d imagine that it just fits onto a normal wand. But I agree that it’s difficult to tell at this stage. overall I find the selection of minifigures a little lacklustre, even if the new Voldemort is very good and we do get a sprinkling of new characters. I like the HE and will probably pick that up and even though the www isn’t very exciting, I’ll probably also get that as I expect they’ll bring out new DA shops in the future and it would be good to build the street. i love the idea of a battle pack for the BH and honestly find it very strange that this wave doesn’t include any ā€œcheaperā€ sets, so maybe Lego have something up their sleeve?…
  22. I think it says it all when the best sets of the wave (so far) are the brickheads… as many have said, most of these really are an easy pass. I’ll reserve judgment on the HE until I’ve seen it in person but the minifigure line up is so disappointing. isn’t here supposed to be a Hogsmead set as well? Or is that for later in the year?
  23. Probably because of the leak.. Also, does the street sign point to potential future DA additions? It would make sense for Lego to expand the street with shops not previously included in the DA set. They have Madam Malkin’s, the Magical Menagerie and Sugarplum’s, none of which are in the DA as far as I know?
  24. That www really does not do it for me… the inside looks like a cheap moc and something my 10 year old could build. The only saving Grace could be if the potions and boxes were printed tiles, but this has ā€˜stickers’ written all over it. I realise they couldn’t replicate the DA version, but this is just bad
