  1. I've got a complete set and don't have an issue with the quality. In fact, I was just comparing them to some of the figs from my more recent City Modular sets. I think they're pretty much the same as current figs right now. Some of the newer figs (even in regular sets (many in newer colors)), seem to be a slight softer quality, but nothing that looks really off. They are definitely not the same quality plastic as used in Classic LEGO sets. As for the smell, I haven't noticed any 'rotten egg' smell. In fact mine smell more like bacon (oh, that was what I had with breakfast this morning (just kidding )). Seriously, if they have any new plastic smell, it will probably wear off over time. That is weird though. I'm really having fun with the figs and I hope that series 2 and 3 will be available without buying 100s to make a set of 16.
  2. Extra good value. I'm sure it will be on store shelfs for a while longer if you choose to pick it up. I still want to purchase the Appletree House.
  3. 112 Million years ago, a ferocious relative of the crocodile roamed the Cretaceous period. Known as the Sarcosuchus, this 'SuperCroc' weighed up to 10 tons and had a length of approximately 12 Meters (approx. 40 feet). (Reference: Wikipedia) LEGO Creator embarks upon the ambitious effort to recreate the Giant Crocodile (if compared to minifig scale) as well as two other ferocious beasts with their latest 2010 set, 5868 Ferocious Creatures. Set Number: 5868 Set Name: Ferocious Creatures Theme: Creator Year Released: 2010 Piece Count: 416 Price: $29.99 (USD) Minifigs: None (pictured with Caveman minifigures only) As with most Creator sets, this fine model includes instructions to build the Crocodile, as well as two other creatures, a T-Rex/Dinosaur and Giant Fish/Aquatic Creature. The Crocodile (croc) consists of seven different segments. The tail is three sections (or four if you count the rear of the body) that quickly whip around with the use of the hinge pieces (for lack of a better name): The main body is three parts that can also be moved adding to the nice flexible design: Two large sections contain the meat of the croc with legs that attach to the sides: The head is sturdily attached to the body with the round hinge piece and has a string that is used to pull the jaws open: Sliding a section attached to the main body pulls the string to lift the jaws. The mechanism also locks into place: Here's an image of the entire croc with cavemen for size comparison: And it's mouth: A few additional images: Thoughts on this Set Obviously, I have not shared images of the other two models that this set includes - the reason why: I like the main model (the Croc) the best. I will build the other two in time and share images if someone doesn't beat me to it. I must admit that I've never been a big fan of Creator sets, mainly because they aren't minifig scale. At the same time; however, this set provides a creative way to play in that a Giant Crocodile (or even the other creatures) provide monsters for your Tabletown. Green elements are always nice as the bulk of this set consists of standard green, dark green, and some lime cheese slopes as well. The design is very good and the whip-tail and pull string mouth make the highlights of this set. This particular model is quite sturdy and doesn't have any pieces that fall off when handling (a nice plus). Three in one (with instructions) to build very different models (not all dinosaurs or reptiles, etc.) add to the quality of the set. By looking at the images of the other models, they look pretty nice as well. The sea creature looks like it might be interesting if you are a fan of the Atlantis theme. There's not too much more to say other than I like this set and think it's a good value for the price. I hope you've enjoyed this partial review. Feel free to share your thoughts.
  4. Good to hear that you've got it working.
  5. I'm looking forward to the Bakery.
  6. Save some Forestmen! Legoland California is limiting the purchase to 10 and they won't let you touch them or look at them (per the store's policy).
  7. It's too bad LEGO didn't decide to offer a newer Maersk ship in minifig scale. Personally, I never thought this ship was a very good set.
  8. Nice job KD. Good color choice for the Post Office. I love the wagon and it's interesting to see the train door. It works well.
  9. Welcome Ozan. Maybe after you explore more of Train Tech, you may be able to answer your questions.
  10. It's an image I modified from the web. Thanks SD. Good question. The Bull soldiers are the enemies of the Forestmen and burned down the small fort. The shield serves as the reminder making a perfect item for target practice. In addition, I thought I might use the Bull soldiers in a future MOC.
  11. Awesome! This is the best one yet. I must admit that I haven't purchased any of the Architecture sets, but will plan on buying this one. Once again, thanks for sharing Grogall.
  12. Thanks for the feedback guys. Here's some additional images without a photo-edited background. The entire MOC: The small forest hideout is in ruins with one remaining door and roof timbers ready to fall: The inside does have a small interior: A view from the top: A little dim, but another picture of the front: And back: I may build a Forest Fortress/Castle next. EDIT: and here's a modified background in original LEGO fashion:
  13. Using two of the new LEGO Minifigures, I wanted to create some sort of woodland hideout for the Forestmen. The result is this ruined forest fort: Revised Image I had trouble photographing, so the actual MOC looks better than this photo-edited image (at least I think).
  14. LEGO Train fan and Ambassador Zephyr1934 shares his latest masterpiece, a Southern Pacific 4-6-2 Steam Locomotive. Where can you see more pictures of this fabulous LEGO Train engine? Right here on EB, in the Train Tech Forum.
  15. So it looks like many like the green wizard better; but how about the image itself? This one took me some work. I would be interested in any feedback re. the image.
  16. Perhaps dragons will make their way into the theme. Here's an image from LEGO SAH: Personally, I like the dragons from the Crownie collection. I think they were nicely designed and probably added appeal for the kiddies.
  17. Artifex: there's been a lot of discussion about the Wild West theme over the years I've been a member of EB. Several months ago, Klauss-Dieter started this Wild West petition. You can see by the feedback, many fans would love to see the return of Wild West. As someone who collects Playmobil as well as LEGO, Playmobil discontinued the theme several years ago; but fortunately, they continue to offer Western sets as part of their Add-On collection. Just as LEGO fans do, Playmobil fans would love to see a collection of new sets, and find the Western collection one of their best themes made - at least I do. There is always hope, but it is true that Western movies just don't have the appeal that they once did. Jonah Hex is coming to American movie theaters, so maybe the movie will reinvigorate interest in Western movies and toys.
  18. Help me understand this topic. What is this? I'm tempted just to close it, but if you could expand on why you posted it, I may just move it to the general forum.
  19. I'm not sure I understand the point of this topic. Did you intend to post this in the Town Forum? If so, it may be more suited for general discussion with a title that mentions LEGO advertising of some kind.
  20. Awesome! I've seen fish tank coffee tables, as well as a few others, but never a LEGO Star Wars MF table. The quality looks very nice as well. I like the light ash/maple wood, and the shape works very well. This is very classy and it looks fantastic - an excellent and creative way to admire your MF for a long time. Thanks for sharing. EDIT: Oh, and welcome to EB Jogi - just noticed this was your first post. Hope you enjoy the forums.
  21. Awesome collection! I like how you added wands for each. Perhaps the wizards need some help in their battle:
  22. Wizard figs only.
  23. No - I purchased mine in the US (at least as a Legend).
  24. I wasn't quite happy with the initial Wizard's Duel image, so let's try this more LEGO version:
