  1. Sok: nice find, but please resize your images. Our site guidelines are no greater than 800x600. Much appreciated.
  2. Welcome Nebsirob. I remember seeing in a German Toy Store during the early 80s. I was so impressed with the train design at the time. Great colors! Hi F0NIX. One day I plan to build my Western Train Chase. Still got 'er in the box. (note: I'm having trouble with your links though). Sokratesz: I agree with you in regard to 12V. I just wish I had even one set from the collection. I've had to re-create them as part of a 12V Restoration Project only (building just a few cars). There's something about their simple yet fantastic design that interests me. Hope you guys enjoy and/or continue to enjoy the forum!
  3. Big welcome to our newest trio of LEGO Train fans: Stefanwest, Sokratesz, and Polish Guy I've added you to our official EB Train Tech Registry and hope you guys enjoy the forum.
  4. Reywas: as you can conclude from a few of the comments above, Eurobricks is a site for adult fans of LEGO and many do not appreciate children posting. Judging by your MOC/MOD and your replies above, are you a child or an adult? Since this is your first post on EB and one that raises some questions as to your age, introducing yourself to us would be highly appreciated. You can do so in the Community Forum (link provided by Holodoc above) or share your train interest in the Train Tech Registry.
  5. Amazing Bricktrix! You certainy put the "trix" in your design of the A4 Pacific. I'm loving the wheel assembly that just pops out at you and you did a fantastic job at creating the elegant curved design. I've added a picture to your initial post and I think this fantastic locomotive deserves some front page attention. Great job!
  6. Class A4 Pacific LEGO Train There is a new and outstanding LEGO Train locomotive in EB's Train Tech forum, but don't let the Emerald Night decal cause you to believe that its a variation of set 10194. This special LEGO Train is a Class A4 Pacific created by EB member Bricktrix and its the "Blue Bomb". Check out the fantastic wheel assembly and sleek curved design. You can find more pictures and read what others are saying about the A4 Pacific in Train Tech.
  7. Bricktrix: that's tuly an awesome display. You've done a fine job at balancing town and train. Looks like you have a lot of space for your fantastic display. On I side note, I've replaced your images with hyperlinks as our site guidelines call for images no larger than 800x600. You're welcome to re-edit with smaller images if you resize them. EDIT: And that station is amazing! It has to be among the best stations ever created.
  8. I don't like using stickers - but I've got them. Now back on topic...
  9. I'm getting off topic, but I took down my Train Table today - gets dusty and makes the room tight. I did leave the wall shelves and have a few more trains on book shelves. I like highlighting my favorites, like these three fine diesel engines on the wall.
  10. Almost forgot to share an image of some of these beauties I've place on wall shelves:
  11. Ya buddy! Well said LT12V. I tend to agree. Believe it or not, it's also the most "playable" engine. There's actually an interior with a roof that lifts completely off; not just a small section. I do enjoy seeing that the Chief and the BNSF have numerous votes giving the Blue Maersk a run for its money.
  12. Welcome RSLego. I'd think twice about selling your Super Chief. You'll have another year or two to purchase the Maersk. The Super Chief brings a hefty price on EBay and other retired LEGO stores. Hope you enjoy the forum. EDIT: oh, make sure you vote for the BNSF in the Diesel Dilemma thread if you have not already done so.
  13. Welcome JC. Sounds like you have a good plan to acquire some LEGO trains, although I'm not sure if I'd part with my Queen Anne. I've got her on the fireplace mantle and like the colors. The Maersk is a beauty though. In any case, hope you continue to enjoy the forum and participate in our various Train Tech topics.
  14. One can never have enough Train Stations. Interesting news. I'm glad I started the collection a few years ago, and one set per year works out well.
  15. Welcome to EB and to the Train Tech forum Twistopher. It is certainly never too late to come out of one's LEGO Dark Ages, especially with all the great models/sets that have become available over the past few years (Trains, City Modulars, and other Exclusives come to mind). Glad to hear that you like your Cargo Train. I haven't built mine yet because the Maersk seemed to trump it. The engine looks really interesting though. Hope you continue to enjoy EB!
  16. While I love the Maersk, I had to go with the Super Chief. I've always love the stub nose SNOT front end, lights, and the removable roof. It has a great amount of playability and is easy to get rolling with a 9V motor. Second, I love the colors of the BNSF. At the time, dark green was a new color and with orange, it made it even more unique.
  17. Diesel Dilemma Choose Your Favorite of the Dynamic Diesel Trio From the sleek stub-nosed warbonnet design of the Santa Fe Super Chief (SFSC), to the unique beauty of the dark green and orange Burlington Northern Santa Fe; does the newly design Power Functions Maersk bring down the competition? Compare designs of each diesel to arrive at your personal favorite. Share your thoughts on this Train Tech topic, Diesel Dilemma? NOTE: Please consider only the Diesel Locomotive and not accessories or additional rolling stock.
  18. Let me offer a big welcome for Architrains, esp. with this being your first post. I enjoyed hearing your story about finding a Railway Express in a garage sale. Just to find LEGO is a difficult thing, let alone a LEGO Train. I must admit that I still miss 9V, because slapping on a 9V motor was just so much easier than all these PF components. The big wheels of the Emerald Night is a big plus though. Hope you enjoy the forum and share in out Train Tech topics.
  19. Balancing Towns with Trainyards -an EB Train & Town Crossover Topic Balancing Towns with Trainyards is certainly a challenge for Town and City planners, especially for those with limited space. Just how much Town is TOWN ENOUGH? Does your busy City have room for a shunting yard or do you prefer a simplistic single rail line through a bustling Tabletown? Do your City Modulars infringe upon space for a Train Engine Shed or roundabout with a few switchtrack? How do you go about balancing Track and Town? Share your thoughts here in Train Tech:
  20. Old grey. The Super Chief and cars all contained old grey and the "metallic" light grey grill bricks (1x2).
