  1. What would the group like to do next?
  2. Q: I have one interrogation: why only 4 symbols when there are 6 chairs !!!! Are all the chairs the exact same model ???? A: The chairs are exactly the same, but only four of them have the symbols. Judging by the quality of the markings, they were probably made after the chairs (meaning not during manufacturing). Anyone could have etched these symbols into the chairs. Observation: I think the symbols represent clues on the location of the 6 different keys that open each drawer of the China Cabinet. I think that there should be 2 more symbols that we have to find. A: When looking at the key holes of the China cabinet, it is most probable that a single "skeleton-type" key would open all of the drawers.
  3. This is how I feel when I see sets in the U.S. stores priced over $100 - and I'm an adult. Then I get frustrated when I hear that Lego is looking for ways that they can jack of the price of a set (with add-ons). They should be thinking about how thay can make sets more affordable with the same quality so that every little boy will have a Lego Ferrari Scuderia Truck in his home/garage. I call this "pricing themselves out of business" and this is why cheaper brands like Megablocks and others are doing so well. Moms and dads don't want to pay this price for a single toy when there are other more affordable options (and a smaller Lego set is not the answer). PS. I like your avatar CT.
  4. If these were mini-fig scale, they would be great sets, but definately over-priced for mini-sized sets. Interesting that these would honestly sell for over $100. I can't see Lego selling a lot of these at this price (even considering the large piece count). I DEFINATELY will be saving my money for Vikings and the new HP sets!
  5. Symbols Under the Chairs The French doors open to an area of about 100-150 square feet (rectangular shaped), that overlooks the ocean. The north wall of the mansion is much longer than the overhang not allowing for one to venture around the space to either side of the house. Appears that there is no escape from this North end unless one were to go down (over the cliff). You turn on the small lamp in the dining room to better illuminate the room also checking the lamp closely. Nothing strange or outstanding about the lamp. The small table has a single drawer that you open to find silverware (forks, knives, and spoons). When you attempt to open the drawers of the china cabinet, however, you discover that all six drawers are locked. Each drawer has a single key hole. Mr. Lego Builder examines the underside of the six chairs very closely. Etched on the underside of four of the chairs are symbols; a single and different symbol on each of the chairs. In no particular order are the following symbols:
  6. Dining Room You've decided to climb back up the ladder, leave the kitchen, and venture into the next room. You open the door from the Main Hall to find the dining room with a single large oak table and six wooden chairs. The walls of this room are red and black, and a hanging lighting ficture illuminates the room. On the opposite side of the room is a large china cabinet with several drawers and a small table with single drawer and a small lamp. Two large french doors on the North wall open to a small grass area overlooking the cliff. You can hear a strong wind howling outside.
  7. Legoland CA's "pick-a-brick" store had sand green during my recent visit. I purchased quite a bit in bulk. I couldn't imagine someone paying $1,000 for the Statue. - definately over-rated!
  8. No sign of rats in the cellar.
  9. Great set! I love the hideout most, esp the sliding door. I enjoy loading the boat in both the dock and the hovercraft and launching it. It pops out pretty good. Neat little set and you have to love Captain Nemo.
  10. Pretty slick! I've never worked with MindStorms but it would be really neat to incorporate with one's layout.
  11. Ali: I own most of the 9V Lego trains and I would highly recommend the Cargo Train as one of my favorites. It does sell for $140 in the U.S., but it's a great set and complete. You get an oval plus one switch track "point" - a real plus, motor, transformer, and light for the engine that can be used in the back or front (yellow or red lights). The piece colors are quite nice (green & dark gray), and I especially like the boxcar with "old-style" sliding doors. Gold bars are contained in the box car and a neat little fork lift can be used to remove/place the cargo. I have no dislikes of this set and it goes nicely with the Cargo Crane (4514) for $20 U.S. Set K4512 gives you both for just a few dollars more than just the Cargo Train. Definately buy both in the kit. You can always add a passenger car or other rolling stock with it down the road too. The Train Engine Shed is definately my favorite train building ever made. I would also highly recommend this before it is no longer available. It's a wonderful model that is great to run a train through. It can be placed as you see it in the picture for two sets of track to run through it (or) folded open to create one long tunnel/shed for your train to run through. And lastly, if you go with any set with a basic oval, I would recommend that you buy an additional set of straight track (or two) to expand your oval. Longer track makes it that much more fun. Your 5 year-old may have trouble building the sets without you (esp the Engine Shed), but I'm sure he will certainly enjoy playing with it (as well as his mom). Trains are my favorite! Other excellent single sets you might consider for adding on to your basic layout is the Train Level Crossing, the Sante Fe Super Chief (best single engine), and the Burlington Northern Santa Fe (one notch below the Chief). I also own Harry Potter's Motorized Express which is not as good (except the train station which is a neat building); and the Metroliner which is an all-time classic (excellent set). For starters, I highly recommend the Cargo Train & Crane Kit. Good luck and let us know what you end up with.
  12. Not bad at all. Neat fire cycle. Red helmet looks like classic space.

    POLICE

I've got a police state now with City and World City. No more cops for me. That new medical theme, however, is long over due.
  14. Great job Mini! This would look great with a BNSF pulling it. Very nice.
  15. I still think trains fit better in the Wild West theme.
  16. These are horrible. Nothing in any of these three sets appeal to me. These are like "micro-machines" to Hot Wheels. Definately WILL NOT be buying even for parts. I've been quite impressed with what Lego has been coming out with this year but these sets knock them back down a few notches.
  17. The ring looks fairly old, but you can't really tell if it's authentic or not. Appears that there may have been an inscription on the underside of the ring, but unfortunately worn off.
  18. Q: Is the barrel where I found this magnificent antique is full or empty? I just hope that the wine is not poisoned for Mister Kulo (XWingyoda) A: This barrel is empty. Appears that Sarg Kulo is fine so far. Q: I suggest that we thoroughly check this room to see if we did not let a single parcel untouched (Sarg Kulo) A: How would you like to do this? Q: Why would 3 barrels be empty? Is there a possibility to "destroy" the empty barrels to see if one of them is not an opening to another secret place or a hiding place of some sort? (XWingYoda) A: Not sure how you might destroy the barrels? Please tell me how you might attempt to do this. Q: Can I examinate the ring deeper? With my Egyptian culture I might be able to notice something special (Jipay) A: If it is thrown up to the kitchen or you come down to the cellar.
  19. Wine Barrels and Ring Sarg Kulo takes a taste of the wine in one of the barrels. It tastes rather good. As you stand around watching Sarg Kulo, the others begin checking the other barrels. Opening each spicket, you discover that three of the nine barrels are empty. Also, as you are checking each barrel, XWingYoda notices something shiny under one of the barrels. He reaches down to discover a small gold scarab ring highlighted with turquoise.
  20. Q: Are the vegetables eatable? No, the vegetables are wrotten as well. Q: How injured is Mister Kulo? No injury substaind. One could probably jump from the kitchen to the wine cellar without hurting one's self. Q: How badly damaged is the ladder? Can we all climb up? Just one rung has been broken. Yes on being able to climb back up. Q: Do the 9 barrels contain anything inside? You open the spicket of one of the wine barrels and out poors what appears to be red wine.
  21. Also, Akkhraziel currently has possession of the Knife.
  22. Wine Cellar Xwingyoda, Mr. Lego Builder, Sarg Kulo, and Jonfett slowly climb down the ladder as the others watch with anticipation. The wooden ladder is rather rickety and squeeks under the weight of each of your steps downward. Suddenly, Sarg Kulo's right foot breaks one rung toward the bottom. He makes a jerking motion as he yells :() , then jumps to the floor. You appear to be in an old dusty wine cellar with dim lighting coming from a light ficture hanging from the ceiling. Nine large oak barrels fill the room with a few crates filled with rotten potatoes, vegetables, and some canned food.
  23. Q: What would it take to open the latch and see what lies beyond the small trap door - Darkie A: You place your hand on the latch and lift the trap door. A ladder leads down. Q: Is the knife stained with blood ??? If not, is there anything the murderer could have used to clean the knife - XWingYoda A: No, the butcher knife is not stained, appears very clean and unscratched. There's a set of four neatly folded towels in one of the cupboards, none of which have been used. Q: Is there any electricty flowing into the kitchen, as could be told by the hum of appliances, or possible digital dials - Akkhraziel A: Not that you notice. The oven appears to be an older gas range. The kitchen has no refrigerator and you don't notice any electrical outlets in this room. A small light fixture hangs from the ceiling and is lit.
  24. A Knife and a Trap Door Upon inspecting the kitchen for CLUES, you immediately discover two interesting items. A large butcher knife is lying on the floor next to a small trap door with a metal latch.
  25. Kitchen You enter the small kitchen to find the usual: sink, oven, cupboards, stove, and various pots, pans, and large utensils hanging from a few hooks on the walls.
