  1. Now the son of Hlodyn and Odhinn comes To fight with Fenris; fiercest of warriors He mauls in his rage all Middle-Earth; Men in fear all flee their homesteads; Nine paces back steps Bur's son Retreats from the worm of taunts unafraid. Can anyone name the warrior and the poem?
  2. Great scene Hobbes. Trains and the Civil War - two great themes that work together well! I would love to see a civil war theme from Lego. I just wish I bought a few extra 6706 sets when I had the opportunity.
  3. Humson Bay & Dorian Crowley Pete answers Darkie's question by responding, "Dorian Crowley was a long time executive of the Humson Bay Company, one of the oldest companies in the United States. The company has been around since the mid to late 1600s and started as a fur company, later involved in trading and exploration. The company is mainly involved in retail sales now having had financial difficulties in the 70s and 80s. From what I heard about Crowley, he left the company in the mid 70s making a lot of money in Humson Bay oil and gas exploration. He retired here in Heceta where he became quite a recluse".
  4. The silver key does not unlock the old sea chest.
  5. History of the Barbep Inside the small wooden box is a yellow newspaper clipping that reads the following: According to the 1846 treaty, Great Britain was to relinquish all naval control over the coast and order British ships to return to England. One such ship, the Barbep, captained by Abraham Wallace, was one of the last British ships in the Northwest American territory. It was rumored that Wallace disobeyed orders and was bound for Portland to meet with the Assistant Governor of the Humson Bay Company to arrange a
  6. First the Lead pipe. Are there any specific markings on each end or any fingerprints ??? The pipe is covered in dust. It appears that it has not been picked up for some time. Could we open the Small wooden chest with metal studs and the Large wooden sea chest ??? The small wooden chest has no lock. You open it and find a small newspaper clipping (see below) and a silver key. The large sea chest is locked with a heavy padlock. Can we look inside the Iron cannon ?? Yes, some rust, but nothing inside. The wooden ship replica seems interesting !!!! it has a 4 digit number. Can we open something inside the boat ?? I am sure that number means something !!! You can attempt to break/smash it. The ship has no compartments or anything to open.
  7. The Attic The small oak door to the attic creaks open. Inside is a large dark, damp, and dusty attic space with a few tables and shelves that hold a collection of nautical items including the following: Brass port and starboard lanterns (with red and green lenses) Wooden ship's wheel with brass center Small wooden chest with metal studs Brass ship's clock Lead pipe Marine sextant in mahogany box Large fishing net hanging from the ceiling Iron cannon (without wooden base) - no cannon balls Large wooden sea chest Small wooden ship replica labelled, "Barbep 1847" Three glass ball buoys Small pile of old wood
  8. Did someone say mystery...?
  9. Both doors appear to be unlocked. Where would you like to go first?
  10. I have to admit that I'm not a big Harry Potter movie/story fan, but I really like HP Lego which just keeps getting better and better. Thanks for sharing the images Jay. I should be getting mine any day now. This will make a great Halloween set. This is what the movie monster/studio sets should have been like.
  11. You may at this time try opening the door to the attic on the West side of the mansion or opening the door on the North side of the tower. >-|
  12. Pretty limited list...
  13. You inspect the stone structures very carefully. They appear to be more for design than structure. Nothing peculiar about them.
  14. You reach the Southwest corner of the roof then turn carefully to the East along the front (south-side) of the mansion. You pass five large ornate stone structures along the front of the mansion and continue walking East until you reach the Southeast corner. You turn again and head North toward the tower. The catwalk narrows around the tower and you carefully proceed. On the North side of the tower is a single wooden door. You can attempt to open the door or head West along the catwalk to the trap door were you started.
  15. Walking westward along the perimeter of the high shingled-roof area, you come to the Northwest corner of the mansion. You turn carefully and continue heading South. Along the middle of the roof, you see a small door that must lead to the attic space within the roof. The walkway continues toward the front (southern side of the house). You may attempt to open the attic door or continue walking South toward the front of the mansion.
  16. Roof Top You make your way up the metal ladder; through a trap door in the roof, up into the night sky. You are on the North side of the mansion on a narrow catwalk along the larger middle roof-top section of the mansion. From your vantage point, you have a view of the tall stone tower to the East and the perilous sea below. In the tower, you see a mysterious green light blinking on and off. The cold autumn air is chilling... You can walk along the catwalk to the east or to the west.
  17. Control Panel You flip the middle two switches of the 4-switch control panel to the upward position. The middle two lights turn green, then all the lights flash three times. You here a faint sound; then suddenly, the wall with chalk board slides downward revealing a metal ladder and passage through the ceiling of the room.
  18. Xwingyoda: thank you for taking the time to shoot the great images and posting a review. I ordered the set Friday and am looking forward to getting it. - it will make a great Halloween set and possibly a future boot hill. I plan to add some cowboy hats for the skeletons and a few more western pieces and it will look great! This appears to be a great set for a Halloween, city graveyard, boot hill, or for the HP fan. It sells for $30 here in the U.S. which doesn't seem to be a bad price at all. Thanks again for the review.
  19. Also lets try the key in the basement gate too- Athos Pete reminds you that you've tried the brass key to unlock the gate. It did not work.
  20. Richard Cory Darkie opens the book of poetry to page 124 to find the following poem, Richard Cory: Whenever Richard Cory went down town, We people on the pavement looked at him: He was a gentleman from sole to crown, Clean favored, and imperially slim. And he was always quietly arrayed, And he was always human when he talked; But still he fluttered pulses when he said, "Good-morning," and he glittered when he walked. And he was rich - yes, richer than a king - And admirably schooled in every grace; In fine we thought that he was everything To make us wish that we were in his place. So on we worked, and waited for the light, And went without the meat, and cursed the bread; And Richard Cory, one calm summer night, Went home and put a bullet through his head. Also written on the bottom of the page in pencil are the numbers "0 1 1 0"
  21. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL And the best avatar goes to....Brickster of course !!!!!!!! Who am I kidding, he should be banned for his Playmo display :D :P Let me explain: Have you ever woke up in your life to say, "this is not my life"? - it was a great line from Robin Williams in the movie Mrs. Doubtfire - the actual line: "Ever wish you could freeze frame a moment in your day, and look at it and say "this is not my life"? If any one feels this way from time to time, you would understand the avatar. The person saying this is a Playmobil Viking in a world of Legos. In any case, I'll have to go back to a Lego image so you all don't think I'm a traitor.
  22. Pete states, "I think we should revisit the book of poetry".
  23. Great job Athos. Once again, a great vignette.
  24. I should also mention that the door to the dining room is nearest to Chair #1. The chair faces the same direction as the group when entering the room (chair back is to the door).
