Yes, a train for 12V is the same scale. -
Build & Decorate a Train Car: Rules & Discussion

As IS mentioned, we wanted to allow those that don't have official train parts (like wheels and couplings) to participate. They can always use regular wheels. I hope you enter. -
Build & Decorate a Train Car: Rules & Discussion

Just a single train car (passenger wagon, dining car, caboose, boxcar, etc.). It can be an official Lego train car or a MOC. I'm not sure what you mean when you say "carts"? It does not have to be pictured with track, as long as you build it to scale with 9V or RC track. Impulse sets are the very small sets (usually around 20-30 pieces with a single fig). Some examples: 5611, 5612, 5613, 5620 pictured on Lego SAH under City -
Very creative, and a clever design. Nice job!

Since coal cars are usually part of the steam engine, I don't see why not. -
I'm in!

Thanks for sharing Dr. Sinister. I like the eye patch! It's always interesting to hear these interviews and I enjoyed hearing more about how you make your comic strips. It's also neat to see your studio. Nice camera BTW. Great stuff!

You can use non-train wheels Jim. The scale should be for 9V track. -
Wow! I completely missed this contest. Seems I need to get out more. In any case, these are all very good. I chose the bakery. I love the french bread and the separate kitchen with the oven. Excellent!

Mystery Manor - Index and Disscusion Thread
WesternOutlaw replied to Dragonator's topic in LEGO Mafia and Role-Play Games
Thanks fellows - I'm really not that good, but I enjoy solving mysteries, riddles, codes, and this sort of stuff. If there is another cryptogram, and I solve it, I'll keep it to myself so that others might be able to crack it. The link that Hinck provided does give some good insight as to how one can go about cracking one without a decoder - looking at letter frequencies, two-letter words, etc. -

With my Radio Orphan Annie's Secret Society Decoder Ring - how else? (pulls out an Ovaltine from the large pocket of his suit coat) Want some? Ovaltine for you as well? -

Interestingly, this reminds me of another mystery that I've read about. I think it was Crowley Mansion. -
Awesome pictures! Thanks for the review. I'm loving the new gangsters, esp. those black hats.

Definately a cryptogram, and a bit of a difficult one. Let's try: look in the chimney and you will find the key -
Great review Grevious - except for the lack of the poll (as WhiteFang mentioned). I don't remember this set at all, but I like it. It would have made a great addition to 6383 Public Works Center, except 6383 was released in 1981. There's something really charming about these old 4-stud wide vehicles. It's that "minimalist" building style, yet enough pieces to capture the look of what the vehicle is suppose to be. I really like the digger. It reminds me of the small CAT diggers used to dig swimming pools. Although the set doesn't have any classic road construction signs, a definate "5" from me.

I think I picked this set up for either $10 or $15 (USD) at my local Target after Christmas one year, which was a pretty good price. What I really like is the mechanism for locking the rear doors of the armored truck. The doors use hinges Classic Town-style, and the faucet piece turns the lock. It's a pretty clever design that works well.

Probably the key to an old chest (a pirate's chest perhaps ). I'll follow Sandy and the rest of the group west after Pete snoops around a bit. -

I'm interested in looking at the picture of the dragon closely. Which direction does it face? -
Nice build for the holiday season. Interesting choice of pieces for the stockings. I esp. like the tree.

I'm going to examine the suit of armor (move the arms around in a "Danger Will Robertson" fashion). Perhaps there is something special about the armor? Max: in case the sword falls, would you mind grabbing it before it hits anyone? (begins humming the tune to "Nutcracker Suite") -

Hello my fine chaps. I do apologize, but I had a most wretched time finding this dreadful castle. The name's Blackwater. Anthony Blackwater, PI, at your service.
