Brickshelf appears to be working fine. I think his folder/link is bad.

Your links don't seem to work for me, but this is a really clever creation - very creative. I look forward to seeing some close-ups of the farm.

Nice job . I haven't seen too many diesel locos with this color combination. This one looks really good. I esp. like the front and back end designs. The Hobby Train kit is a great set for creating your own engines/rolling stock.

Thanks for sharing Jim. Neat site and some very nice creations.

Wow! This is really impressive Hinck. I don't think I could ever build something like this. It definately takes a really good and unique builder to create the details that you have captured in this superb creation, esp those in the the upper section and interior of the cinema. I really like the colors of the first floor that look a lot like Lego's official Town Plan combined with different colors used above. The detail is incredible. I esp. like the all well-known concession stand complete with popcorn bricks and soda machine - very nice! Makes me hungry for some popcorn and a good Western. The entire MOC is excellent; and as always, an outstanding creation. Great job!

Halloween Review Finale: 4766 Graveyard Duel
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Licensed
Thanks TPRU. Strangely, I've seen that before, and failed to mention it in my review. I was a little tired from trick-or-treating last night when doing this review. I stand corrected. The back of the box DOES HAVE an alternate model. I'll post a picture in a bit. EDIT: Here you go: -
Great collection of spooky vignettes. Thanks to Hinck, IS, and WhiteFang for organizing a great Halloween contest. Hard vote as all of these are great. I have to go with Skelliesgang's Nightmare at the Museum. Great action scene, and the green lettering reminds me of old mystery/horror comic books I use to read. BaronSat's Puppeteer House is also very clever and offers a lot of spooky fun. Again, great entries everyone!

Halloween Review Finale: 4766 Graveyard Duel
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Licensed
You may want to keep the lights on. Have a haunting Halloween night! -
My final Halloween review, 4766 Graveyard Duel. Many Lego fans would agree that one of the most spookiest sets in Lego's official line-up would be Harry Potter's Graveyard Duel. By far, a cemetery has to be the spookiest location for a Lego set, and even for Harry Potter standards, this is among the most darkest of the collection. What better set for a chilling and frightful Halloween eve? Graveyard Duel Set #: 4766 Theme: Harry Potter Year Released: 2005 Piece Count: 548 Minifigs: 7 List Price: $30 (USD) This set is packed with skeletal spooks, and a number of graves/tombstones with various elements that open, move, and bring the cemetery to life, in a "Thriller"-type manner. Beginning with a box, very nice boxart: The back of the box does not provide alternate models, but rather just a better image of the built contents: Although the set does have some printed tiles, a sticker sheet is included for the grave stones: This medium-sized set includes seven minifigs, three of which are skeletons. Here's Harry Potter with two of the villains: And Voldemort with two skeletons. Not pictured is Voldemort's front cape that I never removed from the small box: The 7th minifig is a skeleton stuck to a tree (pictured later): A black caldron maked for a deliciously wicked enchantment. Inside are round 1x1 plates with a silver knife: I love the spooky tree with four bats and two black hoot owls: Stuck to the tree is a skeleton: Outside the cemetery is a nicely designed gate with chain lock: The front of the gate has hinges to allow it to remain open or closed: The set includes four different graves: two are of the small variety, one a little larger, and the largest being that of Tom Riddle. Starting with the smallest: The sides open revealing a 2x4 removable grave, this one with the upper torso of a skeleton. It's hard to see from the picture, but the tomb stone is a skeleton brick: The 2nd small grave is about the same size: Except this one lifts upward from the tomb stone revealing the legs of a skeleton: I'm sure the stickers would also make these look a little more ornate. The third grave is a little larger with a much more elaborate opening mechanism: Turning the black lance piece lifts an attached skeleton that also causes two plates over the grave to lift off. This is a fun feature of this set: The last grave is that of Tom Riddle. I love the winged skeleton on top of the grave stone: Here's a close-up. This is the head that I used for my Phantom Rider sig fig/avatar after buying this set: Pushing the grave stone causes the middle section of the grave to lift open revealing an empty grave with a few snakes: One of my most favorite parts of this set is the small crypt building: On the side is this small hinged wall with some tools for cleaning up after digging a grave: The crypt has a removable roof section for playability and a tiled floor: The tiled floor is actually a false bottom that comes out if wanting to dig up the dead: The last part of this set is this great little brown "body-wagon". The back section lifts off and serves as a small casket: A few shots of the entire set: Summary Graveyard Duel is my personal favorite of the Harry Potter collection. At a price of only $30 (USD), this set is a great value. With a wide variety of different components including four graves, a crypt, spooky tree, wagon, gate/fence, caldron, and seven minifigs, what more could a graveyard include? - Perhaps a large molded graveyard baseplate, but that's about all I could think of. This set is currently going for $69.49 to $180.00 (USD) MISB on Bricklink. If you don't already own this set and are considering buying, I would strongly recommend it. It's a great set for Harry Potter fans, and if you're not a HP fan like me, it makes for an excellent graveyard. I hope you enjoy this final Halloween 2008 review. May your Halloween night be filled with haunting memories of Eurobrick's Haunted Trains & Town Forum. :skull:

I love it! This is perfect for a frightful Halloween collection. I esp. like the Ghost Captain and the Ze Wizard. - a great collection of spooky figs. :skull:

I really like the "classic train" look of the engine. The round boiler pieces work perfectly, a design that I've always had difficulty with. The size of this reminds me of Lego's Classic Train 3225, and would make a good narrow gauge mining engine. Nice job!

Mini Digger Construction Series - MOC Eurobricks member Hopeso009 shares a wonderful trio of Classic Town-style construction vehicles in the Trains & Town Forum. This collection of diggers and dumpers almost looks like an official Classic Town set.

What a great review of an excellent set. I love the Islanders and that drum (outstanding!). I think these Islander sets never got the credit they dserved. I really like this set and it's a great addition to the Pirate collection.
-
Neat! I love to reminisce about the fun I had with certain sets as a kid. I could see that this would be a fun one.
-
Very nice. I had thought about re-creating the old Wild West town layout in the same fashion, but ran out of some of the important pieces. I look forward to seeing your completed town.
-
What a great idea to hide/mask the wires -an idea that I haven't seen before. It looks good and adds a nice realistic look.
-
Nice, but I think it would look better if you raised the cab and put some larger wheels on it. It almost looks like a low-rider.

How many models and cousin models are we able to make from 1 box 10183

Interesting question. I picked this set up for 1/2 the price ($50 here in the US), which I think was a great price for the set. I really like the Crocodile engine. It took me some time to build, so I haven't taken it apart. When building my Ghost Train, I used a lot of the extra train pieces from this set. I also had to use some of the wheels from the croc to build the wagons. So, to answer your question, 2-3 cars are are about all you can build with the extras (as Agent Rick mentioned), but one does need additional bricks to do so. -
Nice job JL. I like the color combination and all the little details (like the grill). Do you plan to purchase the pieces and build?

Halloween Review #4: 6257 Castaway's Raft
WesternOutlaw replied to WesternOutlaw's topic in LEGO Town
Halloween represents all things scary. I think pirates and sharks fit into this category. Pirate Halloween costumes are also very popular among kids. -
Three castaways have decided to try their luck on the open sea by building a makeshift raft out of the reckage of their destroyed pirate ship. As the last three survivors marooned on a tropical Caribbean island for several months, this is their last attempt to be freed of the desolate island. With small tattered sails and empty rum barrels used to keep the raft afloat, will they survive the perils of the vast ocean, or will they provide a hearty meal for the sharks that make the island cove their habitat...? Missing Image Castaway's Raft Set #: 6257 Theme: Pirates Year Released: 1989 Piece Count: 50 Minifigs: 3 List Price: $8.50 (USD) 6257 Castaway's Raft is one of a few Pirate sets that was given to me as a gift in the late 80s. I very much regret not adding to my small collection after admiring other Pirate sets at a local toy store, back when they were available. This review was originally intended to be a Halloween 2008 Review, but after receiving a request to create a normal review of this set for the Pirates Forum, I thought I'd make a special review just for the Pirate fans of EB. I hope you enjoy. The front of the box has traditional Pirate theme boxart with a small island and colorful sunset. I really liked this style of boxart which just adds to the quality of the Classic Pirate theme: Missing Image The back of the box has three different images of alternate models/ideas for creating your own castaway adventure: Missing Image The set includes three pirate minifigs. These nondescript pirates can easily serve as sailors for any pirate-related MOC. I always exchanged the blue and red caps so that each match the color of the striped shirts: Missing Image For a small set, 6257 does include an abundance of arms/weapons including one rifle, two muskets, and two sabers. With only three minifigs, that's a lot of weapons. Missing Image Accessories include a very nice printed pirate flag, and traditional pirate treasure map: Missing Image Here's a shot of the raft base that makes up the bulk of the set. It consists of two technic beams with four brown barrels in total (two on each side). Also used are three round 2x2 pieces on each side of the raft. The simple design provides an effective raft that also rolls when placed on a flat surface: Missing Image The mast component easily attaches to the base of the raft and uses two brown lances to hang/attach flag pieces: Missing Image The complete raft: Missing Image Unfortunately missing from the raft are the four small flags that serve as makeshift sails. The hooks of my flags easily broke after only building this set a few times: Missing Image What pirate raft would be complete without a shark to chase the crew. Here's Sharkey: Missing Image And lastly, an image of the complete set: Missing Image Summary 6257 Castaway's Raft is a nice addition to the Pirate Theme. With an abundance of accessories and four brown barrels (with lids), the set makes a great "booster-pack" for a port, dock, or island scene. After one of your pirate ships becomes recked along the shore of a Caribbean island, you can have the remaining crew build this little raft for a survival adventure. I hope you enjoy this review and can appreciate this small Pirate set.

Thanks DJ, esp. since you're the 1st to comment, which I appreciate. All my white pieces are good, just that these few flags broke (as well as some from my Caribbean Clipper). -
Thanks IS. -Appreciate that.
