  2. You had a great entry. I loved the creative use of the cannons. There were a lot of good entries to choose from though. Think of it as motivation to build something even better next year.
  3. Everyone: Thanks for participating in Snow Box Derby 2008. Perhaps we can do this again next year. I really enjoyed creating the daily blogs and seeing all of the fantastic entries. Even though the best Snow Box (hint: the Snow Steamer) did not win, as well as The Men in Black team, the contest was equally fun for me. I hope you all enjoyed it and be thinking about next year's annual event!

  6. OK, that's a -1 for Erdbeereis and +1 for the Frenchman (I could of said "smelly" but I don't want to tread on thin ice).
  7. That's OK. I'll just take the vote from the Snow Queen.
  8. Part of me wants to say, "take a chill pill Snow Queen". You're just mad 'cause you only got one vote; yet the other side is compelled by the famous cowboy quote by Will Rogers: "There's two theories to arguing with a woman. Neither one works". I'll choose the later and call it a day...
  9. Intertesting - these are great examples of the kinds of boxes that I had in mind when creating this thread, as many people use the plastic variety pictured throughout this topic. I store different sets in different kinds of boxes; mostly their original box, but I also have a few not in boxes. I have a collection of the smaller Adventurer sets that I like to keep together as I'm sometimes pulling parts from these sets. I store them in a "secret chest" that I enjoying opening when I need them. It makes for a fun adventure.
  10. Which individual did you vote for? I'll change your vote.
  11. We've discussed storage and organizing methods for Lego numerous times on EB, but are there any of you who are storing your Lego in a "non-traditional" storage box or container? It would be interesting to see some of these storage containers for those of you who aren't storing Lego in a tradional Lego box or plastic "stack-'em" box. Share your thoughts and storage boxes.
  12. Sure... Help him out. The Men In Black team have zero votes. We need some pitty.
  13. Oh yes, thanks for pointing that out.
  14. Late Breaking News from Classic.Town.net! It appears that one member of the French Team has in fact entered the race at this late hour. Proudly flying the "Tricolor", the Snow Box is being lifted toward the EB snow hill by Jipay and his crew of scurvy pirates. The sound of the French National Anthem (La Marseillaise) can be heard from the distance as Jipay sees visions of the Arc De Triophe and Tour Eiffel in his head. It is a proud moment for the French, but will this late start cost them the race?
  15. This is really an excellent fire engine, and how I picture classic-style engines. I love the old red spoked rims and the chrome front, something that you don't see every day. Very nice MOC!
  16. 7032 Highway Patrol & Undercover Van Set #: 7032 Theme: World City - Police & Rescue Year Released: 2003 Piece Count: 151 Minifigs: 2 List Price: $15 (USD) Set 7032 Highway Patrol & Undercover Van reminds me so much of Classic Town. With it's 4-stud-wide vehicles, excellent minifigs, and lots of extras brings me back to a simpler time in which Classic Town sets were abundant in Lego's line-up. Let's take a closer look at this set and let you decide how well you like it. Starting with a similar box as other World City sets, not much in terms of detailed boxart: The back of the box still shows some alternate models including an airplane and jeep: The set includes three small stickers: I like the accessories (some not pictured as I left them attached to the vehicles), esp. the road block and lap top computer: The set includes two figs, a nicely detailed police officer, and "Man In Black", the mysterious Mr. X. I love that black suit : My favorite of the two vehicles is this Highway Patrol vehicle that I think looks more like an all-terrain vehicle or 4-wheel drive. The black 1x3 doors gives it the Classic Town look: Here it is at a different angle: I like the creative use of the grill piece and the 1x3 angled plates: The back end has some space and hooks for attaching police equipment: The van is pretty nice as well, but very non-descript. I suppose the alternative would be to have large POLICE decals on each side of the van, not really making it very undercover. I like the use of the small train windows on each side of the van: The van also includes some surveillance equipment: I love the back end with opening doors. The inside can be used to store some of the police equipment: Here's a Highway scene with both vehicled stopped for a road block: And the complete set: Final Thoughts: Although I don't think the name really describes this set very well, it is a wonderful little police set for the World City collection. As mentioned above, with the 4-stud-wide vehicles complete with 1x3 doors, this set really has a Classic Town look in my opinion. I esp. like the Police Jeep and the Man in Black, the two highlights of this set. It was a good value set offering a lot of police chase fun.
  17. I thought it would be interesting to compare a few of the Indiana Jones sets in a face-off. Understanding that some of you don't own the Shanghai Chase set, there has been quite a few pictures and a review shared on EB. So, starting with: 7622 Race for the Stolen Treasure Piece Count: 272 Figs: 4 Extras: Gold chest and Indy's white horse Price: $29.99 USD 7682 Shanghai Chase Piece Count: 244 Figs: 5 Extras: None (5 figs including Short Round) Price: $29.99 USD Which set do you like better? Share your thoughts.
  18. Very nice KD. What a great place to also find those after Christmas sales. I really like the combination of different buildings all put together to form one. Nice job! The only thing missing is an escalator. Malls and department stores always seem to have escalators. Great job! No Christmas zombies, please.
