  1. You may have a hard time finding one in nice shape, but good luck.
  2. Very nice design Ralph. I enjoy looking at fantastic models of real-life vehicles. You've definately created a nice one. Blogged!
  3. If I'm understanding your question correctly, all entries must be new/original (not shared previously).
  4. Now who wants to cross that death bridge first? Not it! I guess we know how Cassandra died... Oh, nevermind... she's not one of the characters in this mystery, or is she?
  5. I would love to have Lego's Christmas Train circling this little set. Perhaps Lego will offer more for a village. One can probably add it to Medieval Market as well.
  6. Thanks - that's 6672 Safari Off-Road Vehicle, a Classic Town set released in 1990.
  7. On a warm sunny day along the outskirts of Willoughby, the group arrives at a huge wooden bridge that spans a canyon and river below. The bridge looks as if it's a mile long as the old wooden planks and beams seem to creak in the gentle breeze. This is it boys and girls, Cassandra Crossing. Don't know if the birds would even land on that thing! A tied-up Grill'n George has a look of fear in his eyes as he looks at the large ravine below.
  8. Now is the time you've all been wating for! This final category, Complete Trains, combined the skill, imagination, and creativity of train builders to create the best train. We had Creator-like entries like the Brick Express, very creative entries like the Knight-Train to Camelot, a number of fine steam locomotives, and many others. And our winners are: Please take a moment to congratulate our winners, because these entries are "top notch". To all the participants, a big "thank you", and great job for participating in this fantastic Eurobricks Train Tech Building Contest. Now, if any of you want to continue building, a Build a Ghost Train Building Challenge just blew in from the West. Have fun! Well, we've finally made it to Category 1 voting! Are these some fantastic entries or what? As many of the participants were sharing their entries, I couldn't help to think, "can the entries get any better than this"? They are truly fantastic and I'm sure that all who check out the creations will agree. Voting for this final category ends October 17; that's about 10 days for everyone to cast their vote. May the best train builder win. Make sure you vote for your favorite carefully. The entries have been listed alphabetically to help you find them (as the name appears above). There's 25 entries in all, excluding two staff entries. I didn't want you all voting for that Classic Brown Logging/Mining train. Good luck everyone! 9. Makes me long for another adventure. Thank you Rodrigo. Interestingly, I had stumbled upon some of your creations when looking for Brazilian MOCs. Nice job to you as well.
  10. Murder on the Emerald Express Chapter 13: Cassandra Crossing With slit necks and more suspicion as to who may be secret members of the Willoughby Town Council, the group decide to leave the old wooden mill and...
  11. On a bright sunny morning, with some of the group having slit necks, they decide to leave the mill.
  12. It's a nice "double-edition".
  13. Yes, allowed. The main body must be no wider than 8-studs. A piece or part may extend a little wider. Yes, allowed - just like the Emerald Night. Allowed, but again, the main unit must be no wider than 8-studs. No, one entry per person, per category, unless one of them is used for Category 1 with rolling stock, and the other for Category 2. Not part of the judging, but if you want to add for your picture, sure. 1) As I am predicting quite a few entries, only final entries should be submitted. 2) No. The main contest rules mention this. Each category entry must be different. You can't enter the engine for Category 2 in Category 1. Tracks are not required, but can be added in your picture. Yes, as these are Lego pieces. Passenger, cargo, or other. Yes and yes. Yes, you can. I think I've addressed all the questions. If I've missed one, please ask again.
  14. I wasn't able to get the game to work. Unfortunately, only the title page loads.
  15. Thanks Reaper. I didn't know about the Internet Archive. I was able to find it at the following link from the February 4, 2003 web site: http://web.archive.org/web/20030402111711/www.lego.com/eng/trains/recreationstation/legoexpress/legoexpress.asp The name of the game is "Tales on the Lego Express". I can't seem to run it on the computer that I'm currently on, but I'll try later today. This is great! Thanks a lot.
  16. You can also check out this article: Ten Terrific Train Links, Beneficial Community Resources for Every Lego Train Fan It's a good list of Lego train site links.
  17. Keetong: I've merged your post with a topic started previously.
  18. Welcome Francis. I moved this topic to Train Tech as we've recently moved all train-related material to the new forum. In regard to your creation, it reminds me of a classic Pullman coach. While I normally prefer the larger 3x4 train windows, the use of the smaller white windows looks good for this creation. It definately has an Emerald Night look about it. Nice job. It would also be nice to see the roof.
  19. I don't know if any of you remember, but Lego use to have a train page that had two very nice additions: One was a mystery game in which you are aboard a green passenger train (with cars similar to 10015), in which players help a local sheriff apprehend Senor Palomar; I believe a jewel thief. Secondly, the site also had a "build your own train" feature using the My Own Train locomotives and rolling stock. You could add a light, change the background, time of day/night, and speed up the train. After building, you could "price your train and order". While I can see why Lego no longer has the "Buid a Train" component, the mystery was pretty neat. Does anyone remember this? I wonder if the link is still out there somewhere? Sites like Orient Expedition are still available after the theme long since retired.
  20. Don't make me have to take that Ms. Eleanor.
  21. Yay Schmelt! Thanks for that very nice feedback. I'm looking forward to seeing your entry. If the tram runs on standard Lego track, like a train.
  22. I actually passed this one up when available, thinking the entire train was too much the same color. Now I think it looks pretty good, esp. the engine. EDIT: this would make a nice train review Bruno.
  23. Good topic Richie, and a nice layout. I'm looking forward to seeing some of the other track plans.
  24. I was thumbing through some old images from Classic-Town's World Adventure, and esp. enjoyed the creation of the jungle scenes. As I think they came out pretty well, I'd thought I'd share them here for the Jungle Adventure fans: The World Adventure began with this announcement/post card: A postcard from Brazil hinting at a trip to the Amazon: Outback Crossing with digital jungle background: TheBrickster on safari: Crossing the dreaded Crocodile Bridge: And the landing of a Pontoon Plane: Lastly, overlooking the Amazon: Comments welcome.
