  1. Jim Butcher and Mark decide to cross the bridge once again. As the others hold their breath, they make their way along the rickety bridge with a few planks in hand. Eventually reaching the second opening along the bridge, they place the planks in a secure manner and walk across. They reach the half way point when suddenly, a large CREAK is heard! The middle section of the bridge falls a few inches as they grab the side railing. With a lot of dust in the air from the shifting of the bridge, they're not sure if they should continue forward or return the way they came. Just then, Jim discovers a small piece of paper pinned to the side of the bridge. It's a note that reads: Cassandra Crossing has proven to be an unsafe passage out of Willoughby. I'm sorry, but you've come a long way for nothing. -JC Jim and Mark suddently remember this disaster movie scene:
  2. I finally picked up Cafe Corner recently and in the process of building. What an awesome set! The set is so nice (so far), that I plan to buy Green Grocer and Fire Brigade (when available). The unfortunate thing (perhaps), is that I missed out on Market Street which is no longer available from LSAH US. As this is a Factory set; however, I was wondering: For those of you collecting the modular City sets, did you buy Market Street to add to your collection? If so, how well does Market Street work with Cafe Corner and Green Grocer? I've already done some research about the set, but curious from those of you collecting the modulars.
  3. Moved your topic to Buy, Sell, & Finds. As a brand new member of EB, you might want to introduce yourself. Good luck!
  4. Excellent review of a great little set. This deserves a BLOG!
  5. Everyone returned to the front/beginning of the bridge. Would anyone like to try to cross once again?
  6. Flashback: ------------------------ The group stands before Cassandra Crossing deciding what to do next...
  7. Lego could always produce the 9V track again and just offer it at a premium price -something like $20 (USD) for 8 pieces (or perhaps on PAB at a high cost). There's many of us that still love 9V.
  8. Brake's grip loosens as Herman and Jim Butcher try to pull him up. Pulling slowly, they are able to lift him to safety. A happy Brakes decides to never attempt to cross Cassandra Crossing again. Removing the whip cream Mystery Ship torpedo stained underwear from his head, he says, "thanks fellas", with sincere gratitude.
  9. A brown stained pair of tighty whities land on his head as he continues to hold on for dear life.
  10. Grease and company return from the mill dragging a few 2x4s. They quickly place the wood across the open area of the bridge were Bulldog met his demise. Arin, Jim Butcher, Steve Thomas, Lorraine, George, Jethro, and Brakes walk slowly across the beams. Arin crosses successfully. Jim crosses successfully. Mark yells, "Stop"! as Steve Thomas begins crossing. Mark pulls a 20-sided dice out of his pocket throwing it on the bridge. He rolls an 18, then says, "go ahead Steve". Steve crosses successfully. Lorraine looks down realizing how high the bridge is. Frightfully, she walks across successfully. With a twisted grin on his face, Kill'n Grill'n George walks across followed by Jethro. They both make it successfully grabbing Jeb before doing a little square dance. Last to cross is Brakes. He steps on the 2x4s and begins walking across. About half way, one of the 2x4s split and Brakes falls through the opening along the side! His hands grab one of the boards as his feet dangle above the ravine. "Help"! he yells.
  11. Thanks Pete, but why don't you share a little bit about yourself here in the registry and your train collection/interest.
  12. Thanks for sharing Diamondback. How is the door attached? It's a bit hard to see based on the picture.
  13. Now here's a very creative MOC. I enjoy seeing builders combine themes to make creations like this. It almost has the look of an amusement park ride, especially the passenger car. Nice job!
  14. Very nice PW. Excellent bullet train! I like both engines, and especially love the details you put into the passenger cars. You've successfully combined a style and modern look of a bullet train with classic train interior detailing reminding me of 4547/10002 Metroliner Railroad Club Car. You don't see this combination very often. I'm not sure about those first class seats though. They look a little cramped. Great job! This would make a very nice entry for the Train Tech Contest, Category 1.
  15. I like this NewRight. It's a shorter, more brick-built version of the Super Chief. Nice job on the yellow strips along the sides. Do you still have this constructed? If you just shared it for the first time here, you can enter it as a Category 2 entry.
  16. Interesting train engine Gcar, with all the tiles. Does it have a motor? A couple more pictures of the roof and rear would be nice to see.
  17. Cale: this is a fantastic lomomotive. I love the details that you put into it, and your custom decals look so bright and vivid. When I was making my ghost train last year, this is the kind of engine I would have loved to create. The image in front of the round house is superb, making it look like a real model railroad display. This would make an excellent entry for the Train Tech contest (Category 2). Your round house is equally impressive. I'd love to see some more images of your complete layout. Thanks for sharing.
  18. Interesting topic. While Lego train fans tried to save the 9V system, we were unsuccessful. At the same time, it's never to late to give up. I'd be interested in seeing what other train fans say to this topic.
  19. Poor boy. Replaced by a piece of wood.
  20. I have some out-of-town plans, leaving tomorrow morning. The mystery will be paused, but I'll go ahead and leave the current chapter open if you guys want to share your thoughts. Will be back Sunday afternoon. Don't kill anyone!
  21. I'm loving all these illustrated stories - nice!
  22. And you're just sharing this little pin piece of critical information now Captain Conductor Max? Something is definately fishy around here and it's not from "Stinky", "SLOSHY", or Shmelt's tuna casserole. Throw me a chicken dinner, someone... Perhaps YOU took part in sabotaging the train and brought these people to Willoughby, "pinning" it on that poor "bridge kill" Bulldog. - very strange indeed. (Throwing in a chicken bone) Interesting take Davith. Seems Max has been acting a little strange since our arrival in Willoughby.
  23. Oh my gosh! It's the Camouflaged Outpost and the foresters. I love it! How I wish I had this little set. Great review WF. Top notch! Believe it or not, I remember seeing this set on the store shelves thinking, "I want it, but I'm not going to start collecting Lego again". How about that one? Thanks for sharing this great set with us WF. Are you planning to by the new minifig collection for one more to add to your collection?
  24. But how would we know if he has two? Hmmm...
