  1. The irony is, if there was ever a set that should really have all three of the trio in it to reflect their unity, I would say it should be this set considering that the scene literally comes straight after Ron's return. I feel like people just getting in to Lego now might actually be more tempted than long term collectors with the Hospital Wing. As a long term HP collector I don't dislike the set, but there are a lot of glaring downgrades and not a lot to offer in return. No Pomfrey, no Boggart Snape, no printed Skele-Gro ...no real reason to want the set, unless I want to get all the new castle parts, which I don't and I would suspect less longer term collectors do considering they might have bought in to the last two castle iterations since the reboot. Sure the Grey Lady is a nice minifigure (it feels like a hybrid of both versions to me with the dress of the first Grey Lady and the hairstyle and colour of the later), but Hermione whilst having a more accurate torso than her predecessor, makes no sense overall as a figure to me as she never wears her hair like that, Lupin is another remake and the slight print change on the Dementor is barely noticeable. Really The Grey Lady and the wolf patronus is the only draw for me. New collectors on the other hand might see more draw in all of the minifigures and the castle part itself.
  2. Is Eleven's faceprint a reuse? I can't find the face on Bricklink I like the fact that the GWP minifigures are not exclusive and can be made from existing available parts. Joyce for instance is reusing Harry Potter's torso from the Ford Anglia set. I also recognised Jonathan's torso as Ron's from the Main Tower set and what is really interesting is that Solid Brix in his review shows the instruction booklet as showing Jonathan with arm printing, but the actual minifigure and the picture on the outside of the box do not have arm printing. The Ron coming in the new Harry Potter Philosopher's Stone display set in January though is a reuse of Main Tower Ron, but with extra arm printing. So at first it seems Lego was going to give us Jonathan with the upgraded torso, but cheaped out at last minute. Very disappointing considering the price of the set and the fact that they literally show they can make a minifigure better, but give you a subpar version. Other than that, I really like the minifigures, apart from a couple of things. Will's hair looks all wrong to me and should have been dark brown. One of the things I loved about the original Will minifigure is how close to the character it looked. This Will looks a lot more generic. Also not feeling Steve's hairpiece. I feel like old Luke Skywalker's hair done in dark brown just like Michael Corner from Harry Potter would look better. There is nothing wrong with Vecna, but I always find minifigures without hair looks small compared to there hairy counterparts so Vecna looks comically small to me comparative to the other minifigures. And no Demogorgon! That would have been such a great inclusion considering its prevalence in Season 5 let alone the whole series. That figure is going to be so expensive now on the aftermarket. The set meanwhile is both incredibly smart with that splitting function and yet feels extremely lacking at the same time. The house in the show feels large and imposing whereas the set feels small, cramped and little more than a facade. It's a nice facade, don't get me wrong, and the designers were extremely talented to get that mechanism in, but like most sets now I just can't marry that set with it's price point.
  3. If that is the hairpiece being used for Hermione, and it certainly does look like some kind of ponytail updo hairpiece, then I really don't understand the change. She doesn't wear her hair like that in any of the scenes and the last hairpiece is accurate enough. Is it the same hairpiece used for Disney Belle maybe? I can't quite tell with Lupin, but Penelope seems to be using the same side swept blonde hair as Slytherin robed Daphne Greengrass and Hannah Abbott in her Christmas sweater, so I hope she has a more grown up face print or she will literally be the same minfigure just in Ravenclaw robes.
  4. Lol so that's where they were all hiding.
  5. I had two Salazar Slytherin but couldn't get Helga and Edessa lol. I seem to come across Jocunda a lot too. Great list @krimimimi!
  6. I'm guessing it's because the Fantastic Beasts movies didn't do too well. Then again, I think the consensus was that that was partly because people expected more beasts and creatures and less politics for plot, so people may warm towards a collectable creatures series more. That being said, the companies probably don't feel like they need to put that much effort in to sell stuff associated with the Wizarding World as the basic stuff sells well enough.
  7. I played that on PC when it was released. The spiders chasing you out of the forest was bad enough, but the ones that would drop down on you when unlocking secret areas was probably worse. Good times lol.
  8. @Virginia_Bricks @mark1991t Thank you! It's great to get some more variety. Now I just wish the Ron would get the same.
  9. Is Draco's faceprint new?
  10. Thanks. Third year already for the portraits! I have to say I am surprised we are getting them included as well as the patroni, but not complaining. Who were you missing out of interest? My favourites are Godric Gryffindor and Sir Cadogan.
  11. This might be the only leaky cauldron we ever get lol.
  12. They did Disney series in 2016, 2019 and 2023 so there was some years between those. Not quite the 5 years it has now been since the last HP series, but they clearly will revisit a theme in terms of a collectable minifigure series if the time is right. However, I don't think the absence of Pomfrey or Boggart Snape is a sign of a potential minifigure series. I think it's more a case of Lego selling the set with as little as they can get away with. Boggart Snape wasn't the only form the boggart took so they can just get away with using a Dementor and brick built spider. Honestly I think not including Pomfrey is scrapping the barrel more than no Boggart Snape as much as not getting him is a big missed opportunity. Sure she might come in another set, but what set would she fit better than in a set literally entitled Hospital Wing? As a child, would you not expect to have the nurse to play with in the Hospital Wing? I know I would have. I can't see Penelope getting a Prefect outfit unfortunately. Percy didn't in the Main Tower after all and no one can forget that he's a Prefect can they! Minifigures are usually standing, but didn't the designers say something before about not being able to make it work with the Hagrid bigfig and have the hands right or something?
  13. I me I mean you'd think she would, but then I think we all thought Pomfrey was certain to be in the Hospital Wing so who knows! Sounds perfect!
  14. I think the Hospital Wing is a free for all. After all, there's no Pomfrey to keep an eye on anyone.
  15. Considering the Hospital Wing seems to focus more around the DADA lesson in terms of playability what with no Pomfrey, but instead Lupin, the Dementor and Spider boggart are we thinking the trio will just be in their standard Gryffindor robes? I'm guessing Penelope also will be some sort of amalgamation of parts we already have. Truthfully, I'm kind of hoping the trio are in robes, and the Dementor and Lupin are repeats. I have no desire to buy the set when I'm not collecting the castle and the minifigure line up is very bland so I don't really feel inspired to purchase them on the secondary market either. Watch them change the minifigure printing slightly on Lupin or change the Grey Lady to tempt us minifigure collectors though. I am trying to be a bit more objective these days in viewing minifigures though, as in, just because it is new, does that actually mean it is better? Is the printing more accurate? Sometimes no. I just feel like i have to get out of the old mindset now of new is better now that the line is repeating characters and scenes so much. On a new note though, I am really curious to see how they have sorted the Hagrid bike scenario. Guessing he will be standing, but how awkward he will look will be another matter.
  16. Thank you! Really excited to see pictures now. Very curious to see how they've sorted the Hagrid on a motorbike conudrumn. The PS Collector's set also has me intrigued. Minifigures included doesn't necessarily make it a minifigure scene set as they might just be extra inclusions to a buildable objects set to increase the set's desirability for minifigure collectors. In some ways that thought it unwelcome as I am one of those collectors, but I have given up buying big sets just for minifigures. On the other hand, I'm can picture a diaroma like set looking super cool. Whilst we have had a lot of PS minifigures and the end challenge outfits have been covered twice, any set that gives new outfits to fill in scenes is welcome. That being said, I'm guessing the set exists because of the new marketing event and cinema release of PS coming up, so I hope they're not anniversary minifigures to go along with that that have 25 years printed on the back or something. Now those I might skip. And like others, I'm guessing the Fat Friar is actually Pomfrey or another ghost. Very weird otherwise. @brickbride I'm guessing you called it correctly. Poor Ron Ron! Sorting Hat ceremony sounds exactly as expected. Like @Black Falcon the most I thought we might get would be Susan Bones, but thought they would probably take the easy route. I hope Harry gets the face print from the buildable Sorting Hat so that piece is available for more people, but I wonder if they'll include the 'good' Mcgonagall with the fantastic arm printing. Any guesses as to who the blonde student in the hospital wing will be? Luna, Daphne Greengrass, Hannah Abbott, younger Lavender (Lego doesn't always stick to a hair colour after all), Ernie MacMillan or someone else?
  17. Fat Friar in the Hospital Wing, but no Pomfrey seems weird to me. The Fat Friar is not only in The Great Hall and whilst I know that does not preclude him being in another set, would the nurse / Dr figure not be expected to be in the Hospital Wing set from a play perspective. Lack of DH Ron is getting annoying, but I'm guessing they are just going to be recycling DH figures at this point if they are already available and Ron just isn't considered necessary. I hope the list is incomplete, but I'm guessing not. Or fake.
  18. Well the other set descriptions seem to have gone walkabout, but in other news, if you pick up the forthcoming Goonies GWP then you can get both Mr Weasley and Aunt Marge's torsos.
  19. I'm hoping for a Crookshanks too. The new fluffy CMF cat recoloured would be great in my opinion.
  20. For anybody in the UK, the Lego Disney 40774 Classic Animation Scenes GWP that is said to be a Lego GWP later this month is now free with purchase of £100+ online at Disney Store. Qualifying purchase does not have to be Lego although there are some exclusions. End 6.30 on 20/10/25. Might be of interest to someone if they were wanting to make a Disney Store purchase.
  21. Both Potions and Duelling Club are retiring so I could see them just putting Snape in the next big section if it is COS as he would go with Draco and the Bloody Barron. Otherwise for lesser known teachers we still haven't got Bathshedba Babbling who whilst technically unnamed has been associated with a witch at the teachers table. Getting teachers that were maybe unnamed extras in the movies, but who represent book characters all helps to round out the scenes and world building for my collection in my head so I like it personally.
  22. Supposedly a new 25th anniversary logo will feature across products both new and old, so maybe this will include Lego and their box art and that could explain any delay in pictures if they have to coordinate their reveals with a bigger marketing strategy. I'm guessing the Harry Potter logo will probably make a brick built appearance this year, maybe even this new logo.
  23. Disney has announced that the Cinderella Castle is going to be repainted again, so I'm guessing that is the reason for it's retirement. They haven't stated when, but last time they announced a recolour was coming the castle was repainted fairly quickly. So by next year, the current Lego edition could be outdated. I wouldn't be surprised if we don't get another Disney Castle back on the shelves next year with of course so more desirable mini figures.
  24. That was my first reaction. Two minifigures! But then this year's polybag does feature two minifigures, they are just very bland reuse minifigures. I can see Dumbledore being a no hat, plain legs version if he is in there, but more likely it's just Harry and the office furniture, maybe Fawkes if they are feeling generous.
  25. So I'm guessing this will be a buildable Slinky dog that splits in two and can be used as bookends with the books between his front and back and then him curled around from head to toe when you put it together as a booknook. A fun concept and probably a good lure for those adults who were kids or teens when Toy Story released and who might get drawn to having a bit of bookcase nostalgia even if they aren't Lego buyers normally.
