[WIP] Lego monorails. [Custom Rail Systems (CRS)]
Trekkie99 replied to Trekkie99's topic in LEGO Train Tech
Hey @Mark Bellis, I was curious if the length of 19 studs for your curved track section has any math behind it. For example, does it corelate somehow with 32x32 baseplates? Thanks! -
I forgot to add tags to my entry before submitting it, and I don't think I can add them now.

I'm out of the loop on this subject. What's a block? A group of townies that know each other to be townies?
-
You raise a very good point, and I'd have to agree.
-
So today people on my suspicion list are the following. Tony (jluck). Your now leading the investigation into Stephanie on whether or not she's a townie. I for one have believed her to be a townie since day one. And assuming it's true that there's a blocker, this would very likely explain why there was no night one kill. She's an obvious target for the scum, and there by a obvious choice for the blocker. Tony, I feel your intention is to turn people against Stephanie. And when paired with the possible evidence that may prove that Stephanie is a townie, the result is you looking suspicious in my eyes. Amanda (Khscarymovie4) It is really starting to grind on me how Amanda and others are flying under the radar with little to no attention being payed toward them. I bet my bottom dollar Amanda is scum. So with that said. Vote: Amanda (Khscarymovie4) Oh and Jared (Kwatchi) , I don't think your scum, you just gotta work on being a better citizen. It's day three. We should have had a lynch yesterday.
-
OK that makes much more sense. I'm not sure if I can vouch for Gary, but I feel what he says is true. Although what Gary says doesn't prove Stephanie is a townie, I'm fairly sure she is. You didn't reply to my reply to this quote. So I'll ask again.
-
Da flip?! Its day three!!! ? ? Oh, and again, you haven't replied to my claim against you.
-
Not to change the subject, but can we talk about the jurors who have been flying under the radar for the past couple of days? Particularly Amanda and Tina?
-
That's good to know. For a second there I thought you were trying to recruit me.
-
Well thank you. A little surprising from you since just yesterday I wanted the police chief to haul you off to the station.
-
If this is true, then that indeed gives us something to work on. However as @jluck mentioned, this doesn't prove Stephanie is town. @Forresto, I stand by Stephanie when I agree that Cathy and Jimmy's "suspicious behavior" was simply newbie behavior*. (I speak from experience.)* I have? I find that statement confusing. And finally @Kwatchi. You hating on Stephanie (dab on the haters) is getting lame. And as I've stated before (to which you never replied) you sipping your latte, giving some commentary, and then voting for Stephanie gives the appearance of being involved in the jury, without actually doing much. Do I think your scum? Not really. But your definitely not being a good townie if one were to assume you are.
-
Cathy seemed suspicious originally, but that may have been because she was ill. As for Jimmy, what was it in particular that you found suspicious about him? Asking about the hot dog cart? I asked about the hot dogs first, and you didn't call me out on it. And finally Anthony who got here in the middle of day two, had to cast a vote, possibly read up on the past day, and support on his two shoulder pads two previous jurors who are accused of being scummy on accusations I would now call lackluster. As for what the reasons are that I find you suspicious, I could name a few fairly solid points. Particularly the fact that your accusing the three jurors I've just pointed out.

Yes, understuds work in some cases. Most notably 1-wide monorail track. My suspended monorail uses understuds, and works great. -
I feel ya mate. For every point you've made, I feel the exact same way. And I'm sure many would say the same.

My track is (1tile + 2 bricks) thick. While (1 tile + 4 plates thick) is probably a significant improvement, another option is to make your track (1 tile + 1 brick + 1 plate) thick. This is what I did for my suspended monorail track. It requires the same amount of parts* (just different types)* as the (1tile + 2 bricks) thick formula, but it's much stronger. If posting my monorails on Ideas would bring interest to Lego monorails and CRS, than yes that would definitely be a win. -

Hey @Mark Bellis, I was curious how much sturdier your curved track design is compared to Masao Hidaka's curved track design. Yours takes quite a few extra parts, and I was wonder if it's worth it. -

Yes, that would most certainly work! It would probably work much like the spiral in this video, just not as tall. (But why not?! ) Another example. -

I've finished the switch, and I must say it turned out better than I thought! The entire design is simplified, most notably the track itself. Also, a nice feature is that motorization of the switch is optional. I'll be posting pictures, as well as a video when I get the chance. -
Sorry I ever thought wrong of ya Harry. We'll kick their butts just yet!

Two mafia families?!!! Didn't see that coming. So who are we after now? Both families or just the Ballagios?

A couple of people have suggested to me that I should post my monorails on ideas, but I feel it's going to be as you suggested @djm: 1000 to 2000 votes. I feel it's just not worth the effort. Anyways, after building the switch track, I'm currently seeing how simple of a switch track I can design by taking some of the most basic functions, and making a switch off of them. So far so good! -

Wow @Mark Bellis! So much insightful information! Thanks so much for sharing it with us! One of my intentions when designing my monorail, was to have it function similar to Lego's official system. Of course, as I had stated previously, in order for it to function properly, the couplers have to be locked from pivoting up or down. But, again, it can likely make gradual inclines and declines. I hope people will find my design to be a good substitute for Lego's discontinued official system. -
Does anybody wish to change their vote?
