Nice build, although I think his tail is a little short and his balls should be a bit redder. Other than that, looks great!!

Ninjago Movie Screen-Accurate Mech Recreations

I don't see the Fire Mech or Quake Mech lxf files, are you going to post those too? Thanks! -
Here is my best attempt to build the Lego Batman Movie Police Car. Thanks to badchriss for his rendition, helped a lot. I did my best to study every screen shot in the movie, there is a color variation on the steering wheel of either black or light bluish gray. The trunk hinges do not come in medium blue nor do the panels that make it up, so I modified it to get the same look basically, but it doesn't open. This is my first attempt to upload a link thru dropbox for the LDD file if anyone is interested. If it doesn't work let me know. I'm in the process of building it this way so no guarantees until I am done. Also working on the Taxi Cab next. https://www.dropbox.com/s/2mqucftxuh57ts6/TLBM Police Car Complete.lxf?dl=0

I have a LDD file to upload, can someone help?

I just found out they don't make the trunk panels or hinges in medium blue, hence why you went with black. So I'll either have to make it in white or make it without hinges so I can still use that color.

Good job, I'm working on one myself and using yours for reference as well as the movie. Not sure if you are going for complete screen accuracy but I did notice the front and rear bumpers actually have 1x2 curved slopes on either side of the license plates. You can see this at 58:20 (I think) where the car gets tipped over. And tiles for the headlights. Anyway I love these vehicles, they are different and perfect for the Batman Movie. I am hoping I can make the cab next. Lastly, for anyone living in North America wanting to make this police car, I found the only place to get those exact wheel and tire assemblies is from European countries.

Right back at ya. Good luck.

A few more updates on my Flikr page, check it out. Link above. Hey Xon if you are reading this, do you have any idea where the yellow bricks and plate attached to the waist gear will connect to the main body? Or where the ball joint tail in the back will connect? After starting to build parts of the body, I'm thinking I need to get the legs built, attached to the waist, then start building up from the waist. Otherwise I think trying to build it in sections, attach them to each other, then attach to the waist will be too difficult.

Xon_67 and Blackstar are doing the ldd. I am just trying to build it based off their designs. Xon_67 said he will update the file as I post revisions. As far as I can tell the main thing we need to figure out are the joints; hips, knees, ankles, elbows, and shoulders. I am having a great time doing this!! I keep hoping the waist will be strong enough to support the upper body and allow for some different posing options.

I also confirmed from the movie that there is nothing supporting the feet. So like you said, we'll have to figure it out. I didn't see anything under the hips either, where the black treads are at, but I was thinking there has to be a tank wheel under there just like on the feet but black. I'll be messing around with figuring out the hip joints, probably using the ratcheted pin joints, ball joint wouldn't work. The elbows look like they use 3 of the large technic ratchet joints, just not sure how. Anyway, back at it, thanks!

I found another part of the original design that needed tweeked. I will have to post these as I find them or else I will forget. So I noticed on the waist that the back 2 shock supports were angled inward and the top yellow plate was bent. This was because there were too many technic bushings and things were not lining up. So I removed 6 bushings, used shorter axles, and everything straightened out. Check my Flikr page once again to see. I am posting these in case anyone else is or may ever attempt the build. https://www.flickr.com/photos/132017164@N02/

Just found out while starting to build the lower back that they don't make 2x14 plates in yellow nor do they make 1x14 plates at all. So I have to split the 2x's into a 2x10 and a 2x4. For the feet, I'm thinking that the eight lower wheels will be the main ground support. The piece in between the wheels in the same tread floats, so the center of the foot with the bucket and those pieces need to be supported by the wheels somehow. I'm going to look thru the bulldozer in the latest design file to see if I can get any ideas.

You are 100% right. I went through the movie frame by frame and noticed the same things. Even though black would be cheaper and easier to get, I am still going with dark bluish gray for the cockpit cage. Just looks better.

Yeah I was thinking that too, but I have 1 particular screen shot where the treads on the chest and hips are clearly black and the cockpit cage still shows up as gray. I'm going to watch the movie again, they do a close up of Emmett in the mech.

I got confused because it said "cockpit", but I got it figured out. It's a windscreen, never would have guessed that. Thanks!

and does anyone know what the "mudguards" around the knees and elbows are? I've looked and cannot figure out what the part name is or category.

Another piece that does NOT come in yellow... the 3x4x2/3 wedge that sits above the cockpit with the red lights on it. May have to use a 4x4x2/3. Also the dark bluish gray bars for the cockpit cage are like $2.00 a piece minimum. 5 needed I think, so not cheap. I thought about using all black but I don't think it would look good. Correction, you need 7 dark bluish gray bars for the cockpit cage and I just found them on ebay for $0.99 each.

But didn't they already design and build one for the movie? While watching the extras on the dvd, they said everything was actually built. I think he had mentioned in one of his posts that it was roughly 4000. The only parts that I know of so far are the yellow cement drums in the body and the bar/cylinder in the feet and the digger hand, the cylinders do not come in light bluish gray that's why I just used black.

So here is what I've got so far. The gray drums will be used in lieu of the yellow ones in the body since they don't make the yellow ones. I made a revision to the bottom of the tower as shown to stabilize those parts. I will also be exchanging the 2 holed technic bricks with 2 axle bricks to stabilize the entire tower. I also replaced the turntables they sit on with 4x4 black plates and 4x4 dark bluish gray round plates so they didn't move. I am also using 2 black technic pin connector frames, as shown, under the waist gear assembly pinned to 2 black 1x4 technic bricks which both lock onto the black plates underneath it. It seems very secure. I had to use these front and back rather than side to side to keep it centered. Lastly, I had to use different yellow digger buckets on the feet because I couldn't find any of the other style for sale in the US, so I modified the assembly. Not sure if this will negatively affect anything. A few parts are real expensive. The pin/axle block on the waist gear assembly was 10 bucks and I'm still not sure what it's for. The technic panel ferrings for the bucket hand are 10 bucks a piece and I need 4 of them. More parts coming, more building coming. Thanks again guys!! https://www.flickr.com/photos/132017164@N02/with/16883474956/

Hey Xon67, I've started building this thing. First off, I think it's awesome you went to this much trouble to figure out what you did! I have a stock pile of bricks I've bought thru bricklink but it always amazes me, no matter how many I buy, there are always more you need. So now I'm going to start throwing questions at you... I assume that if it isn't shown in your design that you don't know and it's up to the builder to figure it out. For example, the full design of the legs and how they connect to the feet? Or how they connect to the crotch? Thanks!!
