LEGO Speed Champions 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
SDRFormula1 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
Again though, the Lambo Huracan could be 8 wide because it's based off the racing car (which always have really flared wheelarches) but I have no answers with regard to the Urus (maybe because it's an SUV?) -
LEGO Speed Champions 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

Hmmmmm. Tricky that one. But if Speed Champions continues with 8-wide for (say) 10 years then it's more worthwhile to modify the current/old cars to 8-wide. -
LEGO Speed Champions 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
SDRFormula1 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
@pooda I wouldn't think that the theme is changing completely to 8 wide because the Racing I-Pace is wider than the normal road car so those wishing for the theme to stay at 6 studs wide should not despair. Plus this year could be an experiment for TLG to see how well the change is received and could revert back to 6 wide if the sales are below par -
Speed Champions 2019 - Rumours, Speculation and Discussion
SDRFormula1 replied to Anonknee Muss's topic in LEGO Town
It could be that TLG decided to showcase a new build method that yields the same external appearance though I'm not sure why they would do this. Would be better if they would do the 2.7 which was more famous. Let's hope it's a mistake or deliberate "misleak" and actually be something much cooler although I highly doubt this was the case. I wonder why they did this.- 428 replies

I think it will be the Green car which is the 2018 car rather then the Grey/Black Version which raced in 2017- 428 replies

I believe that we have a strong chance of getting the Aston Martin Vanyage GTE together with a Bond car.- 428 replies

Like they did with the Bugutti Chiron TLG could make an SC Aston and follow it up with a Technic set! And the BMW M8 GTE in SC and alongside the Ford GT in Technic would be even better although it is improbable. All we can do is wait and see.

Lego are starting a collaboration with Aston Martin though (Link Below) so who knows, with luck we might see an SC Aston next year! https://drivetribe.com/p/the-next-lego-car-is-CXyU0RHzTfqSMb1jDE2krA?iid=dyuTZtFVTju6Vn817a-T9w But now with Toyota being the only proper LMP1 Manufacturer, what will TLG do for the future SC LMP1 cars. Who knows, we could hopefully get some Privateer/LMP2 teams in the range to spice it up a bit!

If you pause the video at around 0:49 you can get a clear look of the car with its different design techniques to the race car.

The building instructions are slightly modified versions of the actual SC F1 cars (noses taken from the McLaren and/or Mercedes F1 cars) so if you follow the link (http://lego.brickinstructions.com/en/lego_instructions/theme/lego_speed_champions), you can access them.

I found the blocky nose of the Fiesta is much less ugly and more subtle than it seemed in the leaked photos.

Not particularly. With the 720s they had no idea about it 3 years previously. Also, car models evolve and change shape and Lego can't always prepare for that with a "set in stone" approach as they like to keep up to date with the latest looks and models (excluding iconic classics). Like the 2018 F1 cars have a general shape with concepts made but nobody knows how they will actually look till the reveal. Or how it will have changed after pre-season testing or after Abu Dhabi for that matter. we saw big changes in 2017 with different approaches for the Shark Fin, T-Wing and Aero in general not to exclude Mercedes's B-Car that came out in Spain with revised Aero and looks. Lego simply can't be complete and ready 3 years earlier for certain things in the SC Line. Imagine in 2020 Porsche reveal a brand new totally different and more aggressive looking 911 which nobody expects, Lego will (probably) bring it out in the 2021 SC wave.

True. But will Lego model their 2019 SC F1 cars on that? They often check forums and YouTube for some inspiration to subtly incorporate into their sets!

Yeah. It's also strange that there's no F1 or any open-wheeled Motorsport in there. even with the 2017 aesthetic changes. I mean, it's very possible to do! I just found this on DriveTribe. By Jay Speedbird.

How about a Jaguar? Would LEGO go for the E-Type? And since Lego seem to need to include open wheeled racing cars how about Formula E?
