Mazeka is a Matoran, with a vehicle. He's the only 2008 set we haven't seen. Toa Ignika, Vultraz and Takanuva are the three main titans, as we usually get three main titans. You can tell by the numbers: 8697, 8698 and 8699, respectively. In sequence. And Mutran & Vican, Icarax and Mazeka are 8952, 8953 and 8954. On the subject of pins, I do think the long blue ones introduced this year are a bit much, but it's not something I feel strongly about.

Okay, thoughts. Now that we have more final pics. ------ 8688 Toa Gali The limbs and torso actually work for her. I don't mind the Inika limbs are forearms, I don't think they're that bulky really. The shoulder armour I'm pretty neutral towards. Silver as opposed to grey is better -- it's a neutral colour, like grey, and makes the Nuva look like a team, but the slight difference between grey and silver gives them the look of seperate teams as well. I like how they picked the three colours that look best with grey for the Phantoka Nuva and the three that look best with silver for the Mistika Nuva. So yeah, Gali's colours are the best possible choice for her. The flat chest actually has some charm to it. I'd rather she didn't have tits thanks. The Kaukau looks a bit better from that angle, but not perfect. Actually, it looks good, just not Gali-ish, at the moment. That might change. The ears are about 10% fail. The weapon is of the most fail of the set, because how does she shoot water from that? Oh wait -- the swamp water. That's even more effective than regular water, and there's plenty of it, and so there's no need to shoot water. Okay, no beefs apart from the mask. :-P But still, the gun itself looks cheapish... Also I believe she is a little hunched. Like the difference between Toa Nokama/Nuju's necks and Toa Matau/Vakama/Onewa/Whenua's necks. Gali's neck is like the latter group. :-/ ------ 8689 Toa Tahu Win. The legs are Piraka shins. The arms are as well. Piraka shins are win. The armour is Toa Metru armour. That's the best choice, as Inika thighs are maybe a little overused. The feet are Inika feet which go with Piraka limbs, and he has claws in his shins, which also look cool. The colour scheme is Metru red and silver. Total win. His body is a backwards Piraka body but I like how it was done -- the jet engines give it a minor appearance of front bulk so it looks less flat, even though it is. The jets themselves are still a mystery in their story function, but they look better on Tahu than the other two so far. Yay for Metru red fins. Yay for Metru red in general. The weapon looks really good, probably the best Toa of Fire weapon ever, in terms of how it would shoot fire. I mean, imagine that spinning while flames come out of it. A bit cooler than being shot out of a sword. Plus more respect comes from the fact that the blades are detachable. His Nynrah looks the best of the bunch, probably due to the lack of attachments in favour of a real weapon. And the mask. I admire the balls it took to itentionally remove the mouth by using a detachable plus rod. I think this is a good Hau design. It doesn't look like the old Haus, but then again I never understood why a Mask of Shielding needs giant holes in it. Not to mention that design already, you know, exists, so they can still try a different look of the Hau while still making it look Tahuish and Hauish. Which it does. Hey, at least it has cheek lines. In short, Tahu is total win, and possibly my favourite canister set ever. *wub* ------ 8690 Toa Onua Okay, I really misjudged him. He's quite nice. His mask is interesting. I don't need to say that it looks like a Kraahkan, but I just did. I'm not sure if it's Onuaish though. Bit hard to tell. Looks like a Mask of Strength though. I think the original Pakari Nuva is the most Onuaish mask of the three, at the moment. The arms are weird in that the armour parts are on the back. I was a little worried about this at first but I built one of the arms out of my own parts and it actually looks okay. So +1 respect for innovativenessish. The shield looks okay, but that was kinda ruined when they decided to use about twenty of them on other sets. And the wings could have been any colour and still looked better than Mata red. Seriously. Think of a worse colour to make them. Oh wait -- Mata blue. Mata green. Notice a pattern? :-P The torso is kinda meh, but at least it's not an Inika chest plate like the previous two Toa of Earth. His Matoran connector lacks Inika shoulder armour under it -- it's connected straight to the body. And his neck is connected via a plus rod, which means no wobbly head for once. The legs seem to have an actual construction around the shins which is good, but I'm still not sure about the jet things, I'll wait until we find out their story function. The Mata red is kinda eye soreish, but that's Mata red for you. And, er, the feet are okay. I'd complain about the Nynrah attachment but I don't know what it looks like. :-P I like how all three of these look great with transparent lime eyes. But then again, so do the other three. ------ I'll do the rest after. This takes too long. :-P
-
Oh crap. *has lost bet* :-P Also... Wtf on that last.
-
Well, Onua definitely looks better than he does on his box pic. Don't really like the arms though...
-
There are dark green Pridak feet in Karzahni. ;-) And, eh, I can't be bothered to comment on the pics today either. Takanuva and Tahu are very awesome though.
-
THANKYOU! I'll post tomorrow about them. Tired.
-
Antroz = Antrozidae (Pallid bat) Chirox = Chiroptera (Order of bats) Coincidence? You decide! :-P
-
Hey you're right! Hm. Good point. FlamingShadows: I actually do like Tahu a lot, and Gali looks "okay," but Onua is just bad. Onua's bad in terms of the set, I don't really care how much they look like the Nuva, as long as they portray the actual characters... which Onua probably doesn't anyway. :-/ I mean, what's with that mask? It's bigger than his body! Zaktan: We also get story info from the Toy Fair, right? I wonder where Kopaka is... Lewa and Pohatu are both riding vehicles. 8-| We already found a bio of Vultraz -- he's evil and his Midak adapted to shoot shadow. He against the Toa (duh).
-
I don't see what interest Onua could possibly have; I'm prepared to not buy him. But at least this proves I don't always praise sets automatically. :P Was that a Simpsons reference, Zaktan? I like that joke...
-
I just meant that (according to Greg) when they invented the name Miserix it just happened to sound like misery. So it's a concidence. Eh, who cares. :-P In other news, Onua is the worst set ever. |-/
-
We don't know that Miserix is a combiner. But he probably is. And apparently the name "Miserix" wasn't based on any word. 8-| Well technically that makes it an original name. :-P

I still think the best Bionicle book is Legends #6... But I only just ordered Downfall, so I'll see when I get it. I just don't think the feel of #6 can be topped by much. #7 was very close though. Maybe #7 felt underwhelming because it was only half of the Mahri saga, and #6 was the entire Barraki saga? Who knows. In any case, I consider #7 and #8 to be the same story, with #6 a single one (but with a cliffhanger). Hmm, I hope the Mistika Makuta use the Phantoka Makuta body piece. Makes it more uniform. Of course, they won't have Tridax Pods (cough), but still, the main piece should be present. Although I don't think so, Gorast's chest looks like an Inika back. >.>

Federation of Fear 3 is up... Spiriah is cool. Story-wise, of course. X-D

Okay, thoughts... 1) I love the texture of that Tahu/Tahu ( :-P )/Krika/Bitil pic. 2) Tahu has Piraka legs as forearms, so his proportions are basically Kopaka's with the head a stud lower and the body thinner. Even though, actually, I don't care about proportions. :-P 3) Krika has 40 parts and Tahu has 73. Whaaa? 40 parts is an all-time low since they started making the canisters $15 AU, and 73 parts is the most. Oh well, I'm sure Krika will be cool. :-P Now that I know they made a new chest piece (or is it new?) to cover the hole in his/her Phantoka Makuta body, it should be a more interesting shape, if not overly feminine. If it's the female one. 4) I got the Phantoka. Lewa and Chirox sucked at first but after playing around with them they're quite cool... as good or better than the others of their groups. I think they're all really good. 5) I ordered Mutran & Vican and Toa Ignika from S@H. Oddly enough, the Toa Ignika won't be on shelves in Australia until August. 8-| I'm more excited about Mutran & Vican than the Toa Ignika, somehow. I think. Wait no. 6) After having the Karda Nui Matoran for a while I think, amazingly, Photok might be the best. Gavla is close however. The rest are about 8/10. 7) Warmed up to Vultraz's vehicle and Takanuva... still not convinced on the buses. 8) Tahu rocks. X-D

But I like him. Who says I don't?
-
Although I disagree that's a funny analogy. :-D
-
I think there's a slight chance they'll change. Not that I'd prefer it either way.
-
That's grey. Like the other five. Look at Lewa's can picture, it looks like silver, but it's grey.
-
You may have confused "Matoran" with "Mistika." Since the Matoran sets are out. :-$ :-P Did I say I don't like hearing negative opinions? I think it's fun. What would we do without different opinions? It's the exaggerating I don't like. We can do without it. Yes, that's why I didn't post them, instead answering questions about them in a neutral manner, although that didn't get far. Uh, I forgot the point of me bringing this up again. X-D I don't know what's with the complaining about the rapid change of Bionicle. It's not rapid or senseless.

-
I haven't taken any, I just wanted to see how many people care about seeing good pics of them. Since we haven't had many.
-
Gali is female... Bionicle characters don't change genders. 8-| I'm not sure if you're serious or even sure of what you're trying to say. So would anyone like Matoran pics?
-
To be fair I don't see how anyone could take the phrase "Your opinions are wrong" seriously. I was certainly one of those people.
-
Is looking at a pic released 5 months before the set considered evaluating a set through all possible means? I don't think too highly of them now, but that's probably going to change in July, or even February.
-
Knowing Spartan_01... if he is who I think he is X-D I think he was joking about the "Your opinions are wrong" thing. Anyway. Now you see why I didn't post pics. I was hoping they'd stay unavailable until ToyFair so we could get good pics... Oh well. Now for my analysis. Not that anyone cares. Gali: Well I can't see her head, or chest for that matter, so I dunno what to think of her yet but she looks cool. But, long arms. Tahu: Amazingly enough he looks better in that pic than in the pics I had... But yeah, Piraka torso. Hmm. Dunno, I think it could work. If it's grey that's good. But looking again... Wow, he's cooler than I thought. He's no longer fail. There, I said it. |-/ Interesting propellor weapon. I wonder wtf those things on his body are. But yeah, I like him. Onua: I've kinda gotten over the fact that he's tall. But it did get me thinking. What does Onua mean to me? When reading books I never pictured him as hunchbacked. Nor did that hockey mask suit his character either. This set looks more like Onua, the character, than the original Onua set, but that does not necessarily mean this is a better set... that remains to be seen. Also, there appears to be a FREAKING COOL SWORD behind his back. Why it's floating I don't know. Not sure if it even is a sword. (I anticipate at least two brainless comments about me praising sets automatically, even though I didn't like them at first.) Krika: No judgement. Gorast: No judgement either... to early. Bitil: This guy I haven't seen before. He's cool. Probably the best. But usually, I can't judge bad guys until we see them in person so I'd rather not comment much. *shrug* So yeah. I like Tahu the most. *dodges tomatoes* On another note, I got the Matoran.
