Looks good, reminds me of the end of terrace in the center of town where I live. The end house / shop was demolished by a bomb during the war and when it was rebuilt y the design of it was in the early 1960's. Looks st like that as I recall om my youth, but I see that too is now demolished in a redevelopment and something more fitting put there.

From the color it looks like one of the rescue helicopters we get flying overhead, really like them except maybe a bit bigger? Nice detail though and very realistic especially with those support vehicles.

B-PM-02A Flickr GalleryBrickshelf GalleryHere is my latest MOC, it is a police station for my LEGO town and fits in well with the other modular buildings in the street. It is built as a corner building to go on the end of the road and covers four floors the top most third floor being the control room for the helipad. Down on the ground is the public reception area where they can go in and report missing cats, murders, robbery and other stuff that goes on. There are two smaller interview rooms equipped with recording equipment and a small garage for the policement to park their motorcycles or I guess a small police car. There is also a passage through to the rear of the building as the way the modulars go together there is a path up the back of them and this being a corner building needed a way through. The first floor contains a small office with a viewing area for the citizens and police to look at a line up of possible criminals. It also houses four holding cells which are simply equipped with bunks and a potty and not much else. The second floor contains the squad room, the police chief's office and the examiner's lab. Anyway, here is the link to the Brickshelf gallery.

Really nice details and the roof tiles are a great idea and look so realistic. Love the lime green train.

So is it actually a real LEGO site or just something someone has made up to look like one? I had a quick look but it just did not seem LEGOy enough to me Sur it has the big sets but photos of them are everywhere over the net. Also the thing about being just for men does not seem liket a thing they would do? I know we have had adverts in the UK for things that have a very gender biased theme, (Yorkie and Lynx spring to mind.) but these are both quite different from LEGO. It just does not feel real.

For me it is more trains and train related models or bits pack with the large steam wheels and connecting rods etc. For a complete new theme I would love LEGO to team up with Games Workshop and do a W40K or even fantasy theme although I realize that is hardly likely given the grim dark nature of that setting. So I'll stick with trains. Unless you can get a second wave of Alien Conquest or give us some update on any other space related themes?

Nice to see some more AC aliens. I like MOCs where the minifigs are actually inside like in your railway wagons, to often we get sets with space craft or whatever with huge big gaps that let all the alien (Or human) atmosphere out. I am a fan of trains as well!

I seem to recall that back in the days of 4.5V it was possible to get just the motor, battery box, some train wheels, couplings and that grey plate that went over the motor. Then you could build your own train. I know that they sell the motor and wheels nowadays, but this is really only good for dielsel and electrics and you do not get any couplings, bases or battery box in the same box. Perhaps they could have some package where they sold the big steam wheels with the coupling rods, all the technic gears and gubbins needed to set them up, couplings, with the power functions bits and a book of instructions on ideas. Admittedly it would probably be an online only thing, but would something like that go down well with the AFOL community and possibly not cost them an arm and a leg to do either?

But there are, that is what the paralympics is and it is part of the 2012 Olympics in London. (And other places in the UK, lets not forget it is not just about London or able bodied people.)

Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Hrw-Amen replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
How many of one type of figure makes it an army? I have about thirty ADU troopers that I got from various sets and similar number of aliens, are they an army? Back to the point, feeling is allowed at my local toy store, but I think an element of polite behavior is called for. If I am there when they open first thing and spend 10 or 15 minutes feeling it is not a problem as the shop is empty; however at dinner time on a Saturday it is crammed full of kids and parents navigating the corridors with pushchairs. Having a couple of large adults blocking the minifigure counter for ages feeling them all is just going to be an annoyance. On occasion when I have been looking for a particular figure and cannot find it even with the help of the shop staff (As they are quite friendly.) then they have opened ones we think maybe it but are not sure about it. But I would never do this myself as that would be very wrong. Also this is only when we think we havbe the right one and are just checking, 9 times out of 10 we are rigt so I would buy the figure anyway. I usually end up buying it even if it is not as then it can just be anothe figure in the Lego town or parts for them. We have wondered at he need for the little bags really as when I spoke to the store manager he has said that they always sell out of minifigs and even though people have the complete set they still come back for more just to populate their owns or whatever they have. (I get the impression from what they sell it is mainly Leo City.) TLG must have a reasonable idea of what figures are going to be more popular so could just produce more of them to keep the level of sales p I'd imagine? -
Collectable Minifigures: Feeling the Packets
Hrw-Amen replied to Jedi master Brick's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I felt my way through three boxes today all fresh from the stockroom and unopened looking for a space warrior/marine figure and only found one! I was not rushed in anyway, but I was surprised to go through two whole boxes without finding a single figure. -
Maybe the other seven are paralympics and as it is a bit later there are no pictures yet?

I have only got back into LEGO trains in the PF era after having 4.5V as a kid. I have the red passenger and yellow cargo trans but much prefer the Maersk and Emerald Night due to them looking more real. I also have another steam train I MOC'd from a photo. I prefer real looking engines and rolling stock although I don't mind them looking a little LEGOy as in bright colors as after all they are toys. Would love to own the red cargo train but cannot afford it right now as have lots of bills. I am disappointed it is being discontinued when it has not been around for long.

Oh, I see. Mine has just one track that terminates in the station and two tracks that go under the main building and out into the road at the front where there are crossing barriers to come down. It seemed more like one or two of the stations near where I live than the traditional type where the lines are st the side.

It is possible to have a modular train station I hae one and have just expanded it to include a third track. Here is a link to the Brickshelf gallery. (No pictures of the third line up yet though.) My Modular Station

No I have bought LEGO in a few European countries, Singapore and Indonesia and have never got any free anything in any of it! I don't know about Korea, but I have found te sets to be remarkably expensive in Asia especially compared to home. (UK) Maybe they are trying to make up for that by giving away an extra?

It made me smile and I immediately thought 'Ewok.'

Whilst I would like this I don't think a whole range nowadays with no bad guys would sell well. They could do something similar and ave it based around an exploration theme using similar designs for helmets to ADU and the CM etc. I still feel a potential for conflict would be needed or at least rival for kids nowadays to enjoy playing it. Whilst it may not have been the intention in t original it was the way my friends and I played with it. White as USA, red as USSR and when the yellow and blue came along they were seen as more neutral commercial guys. Maybe they could redo many sets but they would need something, even if it was two rival exploration companies going after the same thing, say like Octan and Rock Raiders (Or Power Miners, or whoever will be running the CITY Mine?) but in space. Maybe a few aliens but not always seen as the bad guys. That could be fun and whilst not war based would still have the potential if that is what you wanted.

This does look pretty good, would like to observe those other ideas when done.

Sorry for that. I have taken them out altogther and just left the link. I had been trying a different camera out, but had cropped everything down as small as I thought I could get away with. I am admitted not very good at this digital photography stuff and my normal camera gives rubbish photos as you may have noticed from my other posts, so I tried an older one I had instead. I'll go back to the new one. Sorry again.

It is actually an Insectoid/robot head (As is the green insectoid bit on a normal robot head.) on a Blacktron body, (The one from CC series 3.) and it is supposed to represent that the aliens are being secretly directed against the ADU good guys by other more sinister forces at work behind the scenes. Kind of like a Blacktron agent who is acting as an adviser to the alien admiral.

Very Old LEGO Space made with even older bricks.
Hrw-Amen replied to Hrw-Amen's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
Well, actually I was not a kid but about 23ish at the time they were made, but it still was avery long time ago. I am not planning to dismantle them and they have been cleaned off and put into a better box. Not yet back in the attic though. I am toying with the idea of updating the fragile roof of the Blacktron dropship but part of me is looking at it as history and wants to leave it alone? I am undecided? There is another lot that I have not yet dusted so when I get around to it I will post some pictures. I hope to try that Octan ships lights over the weekend to see if they still work. I hope that they do, but we will see? -
Brickshelf Link: http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=501268 Here are some pictures of my modular Alien Mothership for the AC aliens. But wait, who is that hiding in the rear of the control room? Is that something unexpected for the ADU to deal with? edit. Sorry, have removed images and just left the link. I was trying to get better quality pictures using a different camera and set up. I had resized them all and cropped them as much as I thought I could, sorry again.

I don'y have any made up anymore although I had a few back when I was a child. A rumage in the attic turned up a wooden casket over Easter and when I opened it there was a lot of blue train track, the old level crossing and signals from that era as well as some of the old 4.5V motors and some old battery boxes. Not sure if any of them are still in working order as they have been sat in that box for maybe 30 years or more. I'll have to get some of those old style batteries and give them a try. Maybe then if I can dig out some instructions or get them online I can recreate some of those old trains and get them running again on my PF tracks. (I think the old blue ones may look out of place alongside?)There were a bunch of the old red train wheels and the old hook type conections for trucks as well so maybe worth doing this for nostalgia, but it all depends of the motors are still working really.
